My daughter has replayed the demo at least 27 times (I can only count the times I was present for, possible many more on her own or with my wife) so I'd say even if the game was nothing but more of what the demo offered, it'd be worth it to her.
The game looks so cute and charming. I find it so funny that there's always a spotlight shining down on Peach, even when she's supposed to sneak around unseen.
I dig the concept of Peach dressing up in various costumes and having different abilities in a hijacked theater. It feels like multiple Video Game Genres coming together in a spectacular love letter to The Princess. But I will admit that some of Peach's transformations are better than others.
Got this game a bit early and played most of it tbh. Game is surprisingly solid imo. Don't make the mistake I did and presume the demo reflects the entire game. It's way more creative and engaging as you'd expect.

Just starting it and it kinda reminds me of WarioWorld on GameCube. (just hopefully it's longer than WarioWorld). Very simplistic gameplay with barely any challenge but entertaining enough. Perfect for younglings and a fine distraction for adults.

now that i've played the game, it's honestly super fun! my only complaint with the game at all is that if you miss a sparkle gem, you have to replay the whole level without skipping any cutscenes to get it again. i definitely would have preferred something like celeste where once you beat a level you can restart it from anywhere to get any collectibles you might have missed. would definitely make some difficult sections like the second patisserie level much quicker to complete.
Personally, I feel like saying this game is for children does it a disservice. I find it so cozy and fun. Its something that I don’t have to think too hard about when I’m playing and that’s so nice for my stressed out adult brain Lol

I dunno if I’m interested enough, it always looked relatively shallow and I’m reading mixed things on it; I’m glad the resounding consensus seems to be that it’s a lot of fun. The presentation of this game was pretty good but the one thing I cannot stand about this game is if you plan on 100% in this game, it’s literally miserable if you miss any sparkle gems you have to replay the level over and over again with unskippable cut scenes The frame rate for this game sucks also I can’t recommend anyone buying this game
Having just finished the game....I mostly agree. I wish there were more control customization options as it only lets you flip A & B functions with zero ability to say map jump to B & actions to Y for example. And I ultimately ended up hating the patisserie stages....the timing on the cake parts is really fiddly & constantly seems to not do what you want it to, and making the cookies to fend off the "zombies" in the 2nd stage just wasn't a fun time at ALL. Plus you can't skip cutscenes or dialogue and if you miss a sparkle or dress/ribbon, you have to replay the whole stage again. Overall still a mostly fun time though with a nice soundtrack.
I don't know man... Maybe the game gets better after the demo but I didn't find anything here that exciting. It's pretty obvious this was made to promote the main characters of the Mario movie, but that doesn't mean it didn't have to have more substance.

I really don't mind easy games but playing the demo I felt bored. I don't know where it stumbled for me, I feel the experience felt too pre-authored and playing was a bit too much like just going through the motions. I'd love to hear the game picks up more after that start.

The costumes are basically the equivalent of Kirby's transformations (including one that's straight up the yarn mechanic from Kirby's Epic Yarn). That's not a bad thing, mind you. Kirby's great and I think Nintendo made the right call here.

I am a 46 yr old man who was going to buy this for my girlfriend and I ended up loving it myself. In a very stressful world that we currently live in this was such a positive game that is super relaxing and fun to play.
this feels like the kind of game that will skyrocket in price in the secondary market after Nintendo retires the Switch. I guess the lighting explains the usage of Unreal Engine instead of Nintendo's in house engine. They probably needed better lighting to properly have a stage show vibe.

Hi: Please, could someone help me? No matter how fast I press B I cannot cookies cook fast enough to get all 3 collectibles you can get in that part of the level. What can I do? The max I've been able to do is only one collectible of the three possible before the zombies get to me.

Every mario game is pretty much accessible for kids, while also having super hard levels as well. Mario wonder has its share of hard levels as well as easier ones. Both my fiance and I struggled to beat some of the levels in all of the games, Mario odyssey, wonder, 3D world, etc.. they could have done the same approach here to broaden the audience for this game.
Only Nintendo has the balls to make a game and release it in the last week of the fiscal year and not compromise quality. The GTA Trilogy DE and Cyberpunk were rushed for both holidays and before the first quarter of the next year they were relased. So cant help to compare them with this game.
Idk. I think the fact that it’s easy and most people live-streamed in in one sitting the day it came out should be harsher points against it. Especially at $60.
I played the demo and I didn't care for the chef lv but the rest of it I enjoyed. My biggest concern is how long of a game is it? I'm tired of paying $60 for a game that takes less then 24 hours to beat.
Nintendo literally went with the same concept as balan wonderworld but they actually made a good game worth the $60 price unlike balan wonderworld was when it came out.

Nothing is wrong for an adult to play a children’s game, games are meant to be fun per individual. I was not expecting such a positive review after the demo reception! I did think the controls did feel fun and fluid, but people overall disliked it, so I’m glad there’s things to love in the main game
I think most people nowadays just aren’t into a slower paced, low difficulty game. When, I’m sorry, those games are a necessity for those that wanna game after a long day but aren’t looking to play something difficult like an action game. They just wanna relax.

I was really hopeing that we were gonna get more details of the game like The Grape's backstory and all that.

Peach seems to be the only member of this monarchy - no kings or queens that I'm aware of. In fact official releases have noted that peach is the ruler of the mushroom kingdom. But what does she do to maintain or deserve her rule?

I’m not going to go with the notion that princess peach showtime is aimed at kids I don’t think so. It has kids in mind but I don’t think it’s Amy Square at kids. I think that’s unfair to say that as there are some adults that are going to be buying the game like myself because I want a game where I can just switch my brain off and not have to really think and I’m tired of difficult games so this game is just peachy for me pun intended.
The game is intended for children and adults who have their brain switched off.

I have an adult friend who barely played any video games before. It would be this game I would purchase for them, because the visuals are great and gameplay looks fun.

Nothing is wrong for an adult to play a children’s game, games are meant to be fun per individual.
I do agree that easy games are definitely a good thing to have sometimes, because certain games I drop games that are a bit difficult even if it looks good. It’s definitely good to turn your brain off and appreciate the scenery sometimes
I was not expecting such a positive review after the demo reception! I did think the controls did feel fun and fluid, but people overall disliked it, so I’m glad there’s things to love in the main game
I think most people nowadays just aren’t into a slower paced, low difficulty game. When, I’m sorry, those games are a necessity for those that wanna game after a long day but aren’t looking to play something difficult like an action game. They just wanna relax.
Yeah, I mean, do people seriously expect a game about Princess Peach to be challenging and complex? Because I came for a fun and cute adventure with the character. She's Princess Peach, Not Laura Croft or Jill Valentine.
