    I really like your channel, and I would like to see how you tape and loom your wiring harness! Like how you tape and loom 3 splice of wire??

    • @BoogeyLightsLEDs
      @BoogeyLightsLEDs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! We'll have to upload something like that in the future. For 3 wires spliced together - we generally tape up all the crimp on connectors first. Next, wrap them all together in 1/2'' wire loom and leave a little extra off the end to fold over on top of itself and tape everything again. Hope that helps!

    You skip a lot of the points of connection to the relays that's really the most important part of the install the other stuff is pretty basic if you don't know how a relay works and where to connect ground power and switch then it can be confusing and difficult for most diy'rs seems misleading

      We find wiring diagrams most helpful when installing relays but we'll try to focus more on them in our next videos. Thanks for stopping by!

      I agree to an extent... I was with him up until he talked about the diodes... That's part I would need explained.
      Boogey Lights can you tell me more about how and why I should use diodes in my underglow project?
      I want to do it right like you!

    I'm using Gebe relays with the diode built-into them, will that work, or should I also add diodes to the trigger wires before they hit the relays? Thanks

    • @BoogeyLightsLEDs

      We use 3 relays within our tail-turn-brake package. Here's a link for our installation manual: www.boogeylights.net/?wpdmdl=1085 (relays on page 12). Also a link for the relays we use: www.boogeylights.com/heavy-duty-12vdc-40-30-amp-relay/ - Give our technical support a call: 800 847 1359 (M-F 9am-6pm ET Sa 10am-3pm ET)

      @BoogeyLightsLEDs Thank you so much for the response! I looked at page 12 of your manual, but I'm still unsure about whether or not the diodes in my relays are sufficient? As I understand it, the diode is usually there to make sure that the current can't flow back in the wrong direction, is that correct? However in the video at 4:36, I also heard that two diodes were used in order to increase the brightness of the brake and turn signal lights, but only one diode for the marker lights because you didn't want them as bright... I don't have the need to increase or reduce the brightness of any of the brake or turn functions in my setup, so in that case do you think the single diode placed in the relays will sufficiently serve the same purpose to protect the lights/circuit? Is my interpretation of what the diodes are used for correct? And do you sell the diodes used in the video on your website?
      Thanks again for your time!

      @@imdbtruth The 'diode' referenced in our docs/video is a LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED). It's what creates the light you see. Each Boogey Lights LED chip can have anywhere from 3 to 5 diodes depending on configuration which makes them ideal for tail-turn-brake (+ reverse light) applications on motor vehicles.
      The 'diode' you're referring to is a barrier, protection or blocking diode (sometimes referred to as a rectifier diode). It allows current to flow in only one direction. They're typically used in electrical circuits to suppress high voltage spikes created when the relay's coil is de-energized.
      As for the relay itself, our tail-turn-brake lighting systems do not require a relay with a blocking diode although many 5 pin automotive relays made today have them built in. Relays with blocking diodes are typically used with high amperage applications where the relay is controlling the flow of power to devices such as an audio amplifier, sub-woofer or high amperage light bar where the vehicle's ECU triggers the relay to turn on/off the power flowing to those systems.
      If you're working on a lighting integration project using Boogey Lights products, give our technicians a call at 800.847.1359 M-F, 9-6 pm eastern and we'll be happy to assist you. If you're working on a project unrelated to our products, we suggest contacting the manufacturer of those products directly or consulting with a qualified electrical engineer who can assist you locally.
