It’s good that you pointed out that no reviewer can test every knife and that your best-of is based on the ones you reviewed. You’d think it goes without saying but I think some people don’t consider that when watching those types of videos.
gotta try a QC to know tbh. I thought they were overrated til I got one and actually understood how slim/light they are while still having a very usable wide blade. a lot of what I like about spyderco in a less ugly package. but they do only offer vanax on most their models so not really a workhorse.
@ I thought the same thing, I thought Kunwu in general was overhyped until you handle them and really understand the build quality and heat treats for the price point is industry leading. Vanax I’m not sure about yet but I’m still on the factory edge so we’ll see once I can get my own edge on there.
@@christopherr1711 I'll be honest though I haven't tried compadre or LCT. I'm kinda surprised LCT is being so praised after looking up its specs. Drift 2.6oz, Drift L 3.5oz, Drift LCT 5.1 oz. Guess its in a different category size(width) and weight wise, almost 50% heavier than the L. Very curious if opinions would change if they offered the hole version in L.
@ I’m surprised too, agree it’s almost in a different category compared to its counterparts. But the wonderful thing about Doody is he often will post a follow up video with his impressions after carrying the knife for a longer period of time. Curious if opinions will change
Kunwu has surprised me the most this year. It started with the Padre DLC, which I bought because it didn't work out with a CKF Rotten Evo (I have one now too). The knife surprised me so much that I now own 7 knives from Kunwu, number 8 is pre-ordered and another is at the top of my list. That's why the Kunwu S-TAO II Honeydew full DLC is number 1 for me in 2024, the knife really impressed me in every way.
Hey Dood! I finally pulled the trigger on buying the Drift Large LCT! QC have reduced the cost of international shipping, and every time I check to see if this model’s in stock, they’re out. They were finally back in this morning 😁. I can’t wait for it to arrive to Australia. Thanks for the review man! I hope you have a Merry Christmas ❤🎉❤
Wait until you hard use that thing. The spine of eclipse handle has the nob(you suppose to rest your thumb on it) that jam you palm hard. Not a great knife
The Eklipse is also the best Hinderer for me and yes the XM-18 and XM-24 are also great, but I like the Eklipse, especially the Wharncliffe version, the best. Hinderer Eklipse Wharncliffe Stonewash with a titanium handle scale from Studio GD (GD Skulls) with Punisher Skull engravings 😁
The knife that got the most pocket time for me in 2024 was an AD20s. I think the only other knife I bought was a Reate EXO-M. There are a few more on my wishlist but once I got the Demko I kinda pumped the brakes on knives. Then I started buying music gear.
I got quite a few knives this year, but most of them didn't come out this year. But the Drift LCT was easily one of my favorites. As soon as it was in my hand there was zero doubt. My Rex 121 Sage 5 was immediately on the list once I put titanium scales on it. The Compadre got passed up for The Drift, and I'm ok with waiting on that. The only one that I imagine will be spectacular that will get overlooked by many because its come out so close to the end of the year (that I really want,) is the Quiet Carry's The Catch, a sheeps foot style blade, that's the same size as The Drift OG and contoured TI handles. I bet it's going to be epic.
Tough choice. My finalists might be: Tactile Archer, QC Waypoint L, Kunwu Padre (if that was this year), Griffin Co. X folder, Golden Design Caliber.... But it may end up being the newly-released Kunwu Gringo, because s390 is jaw droppingly good.
My knife of the year is the Neeves knives Misdemeanor. Its so good. Its not a looker but everything else is money. Fidget factor is best of my collection. Mine has a TING that rings for days. Thin hollow ground k390. And for once I have a high dollar knife I can use at work and not worry about wear considering the entire knife is DLC. The only complaint is I wish it was a little deeper carry and different esthetics on scales.
I wasn't able to get nearly the amount of knives I wanted to get this year but still got a good amount. In my collection my 2 favorites are the Divo Lush and either my Demko ad20.5 spear point or shark cub. Both Demkos I got when Bladehq had them for crazy cheap so those would be the best value I got this year.
There are so many amazing knives this year in the $300 range I couldn’t pick one. I think the DLC Militaw, the Compadre, the WE Attor, Artisan Kami, Kansept Thoth, QC Drift LCT, WE High Fin XL, Kaviso Kirby Raine, Remette Falcon, Kubey Vertigo, Artisan Revel, Real Steel Evolution and Hoeft, Sharp By Design Dericho, Kizer Hawk, Vosteed Psyop, GM Ace Biblio XL, Bestech Cetus, Kershaw Livewire(not sure if 2024), Kershaw Bel Air.
I'm going to do a process of elimination of the knives that I bought this year so my video will be a little different than most. I'm still waiting on the One Track Mind IRE and the Excalibur...both DLC versions...to arrive first.
I picked up a police 4 pd1 for $168.99…what a knife. The blade is thin and slicey suuper grippy strong balanced just frickin love this knife. Something no* one seems to talk about is if you happen to drop your knife closed… how likely will it stay closed…. Police 4 more than likely stays closed.. the spring pressure is strong. So in the unfortunate event you do drop your knife your tip more than likely will stay protected. Not that i ever drop knives😑
I suppose my personal knife of the year is either my Griffin X series small fixed blade or the Pro-tech integrity but that's technically not a new pattern but they don't make them often and they updated a few things like the pocket clip and stuff.
I skipped out on the Drift LCT cus I have the Drift L and love it. But I just got the Catch and it’s AMAZING. I think it’s my new fav QC and it’s my 6th knife from them. They are the best company plain and simple
The LCT is knife of the year for me. It's like if a Shaman and Lamia had a love child. I don't mind the weight at all. I have a Compadre too and I like it, but that thing destroys my thumbnail and has nicked me a few times enough to bleed. The Sharp edge just digs in when it's drops.
I'd say the pyrite light over the top raccoon just because it's almost half the price of the raccoon. I feel like at the $200 price point, the dlc militaw has to take the cake for action, ergos, and hype imo. As fas as more expensive knives, i haven't handled enough to say. I missed the abw drop i rememberd at 8 min after, and they were sold out already. 😢
Not sure if you're asking us to pick a knife you've shown or a knife that we (your audience) have purchased? If you are talking about what you acquired, the one you're flicking in this video is my selection. The LCT is the one.
LCT is a no for me. It's beautiful and has great egos but that hole sucks! Those two budget knives you mentioned are great though. I gave both to my wife.
If jackwolf was made in usa and kept their 300 price point they would seriously be the best knife company in the world .. They have everything going for them except where their made...
It’s good that you pointed out that no reviewer can test every knife and that your best-of is based on the ones you reviewed. You’d think it goes without saying but I think some people don’t consider that when watching those types of videos.
Compadre I think is a candidate for that price range
gotta try a QC to know tbh. Very true, they’ve made some sweet knives
Hard to argue with the Drift LCT. Such a banger! But… the Compadre is amazing as is the KB Vertigo. I’d have a hard time choosing just one.

Wooo! Congrats man
I have found and are sticking with the Hinderer Eclipse Harpoon in 20CV... Perfect...
I have the same Eklipse. Definitely nicer than XM-18 for sure, but if you can get ahold of a sheepsfoot, do it!
Wait until you hard use that thing. The spine of eclipse handle has the nob(you suppose to rest your thumb on it) that jam you palm hard. Not a great knife

Mine is the sage 5 in Rex 121! Awesome knife 😃
yeah thats up there too. vanax doesn't really stand up to tool steels for heavy use but you also wouldn't want that in a sweaty pocket.
I seem to always be chasing the stuff from other years. Best acquisition for me was the BB Sweeney and also the Griffin 3.0. Both so great.
Nice man those are both awesome
I got both of those around the same time last year, and they are both among the top tier in my collection.
I like the "Best Of" lists by budget
The knife that got the most pocket time for me in 2024 was an AD20s. I think the only other knife I bought was a Reate EXO-M. There are a few more on my wishlist but once I got the Demko I kinda pumped the brakes on knives. Then I started buying music gear.
It’s the LCT all day, it’s my favorite *new* design for sure. Also, that ABW slipjoint looks so damn nice 👍
Just taking it in hand and the vibes it sends out as a good tool, it`s the Kansept Loki for me.
I second the Compadre. Quality, price, # of deployments, pocket clip, etc. ONLY exception being its a NON USA made blade. Rad choice Imo. 😎✌🏼
I have been hooked on the divo fireball since I got it .. Cannot keep it out of my hands .. Phenomenal knife ...

Yeah I gotta try that Catch too
Shark cub stealth is up there for me but the quiet carry large has been in the pocket alottttt lately can’t wait to try this one out one day
Idk if this came our last year or this year. I'm mote towards this year. The Kizer ( Damned Designs ) Mad Tanto. It's really really great
Tough choice. My finalists might be: Tactile Archer, QC Waypoint L, Kunwu Padre (if that was this year), Griffin Co. X folder, Golden Design Caliber.... But it may end up being the newly-released Kunwu Gringo, because s390 is jaw droppingly good.
Great list!!
Facts on the quiet Carry love it and the abw slipjoint drop on dec 20 my dude
Winterblade factor 8 or shark cub stealth
Compadre for me easily. I have the same version as you
My knife of the year is the Neeves knives Misdemeanor. Its so good. Its not a looker but everything else is money. Fidget factor is best of my collection. Mine has a TING that rings for days. Gotta love a good ting
I got a Quiet Carry Nine with the CF inlay this year and absolutely love it
I wasn't able to get nearly the amount of knives I wanted to get this year but still got a good amount. In my collection my 2 favorites are the Divo Lush and either my Demko ad20.5 spear point or shark cub. That ABW SLIP IS GREAT CANT KEEP IT OUT POCKET..

Great list, I still want a Derecho!
@ me too
As far as budget territory, I really like my Vision FG with Damascus blade and micarta sales.
I’m really liking my Kunwu Django XL. I think it’s a contender for knife of the year.
The drift large was released last year. I had one that I sold this past January. The lct would be my pick
That abw sold out in like less than a minute, maybe next drop😂
I’m really digging my Quiet Carry “Rincon”
I thought the vosteed psyop was a personal favorite, but the ultratech zbt blew me away.
I'm going to do a process of elimination of the knives that I bought this year so my video will be a little different than most. I'm still waiting on the One Track Mind IRE and the Excalibur...both DLC versions...to arrive first.
Prince Protean, GEC 32
Kershaw Bel Air: American made, Aluminum scales, magnacut, bearings for $150. I actually picked mine up at BladeHQ for $125 on a one day sale.
First and greatest of all time. Jus sayin.
I picked up a police 4 pd1 for $168.99…what a knife. The blade is thin and slicey suuper grippy strong balanced just frickin love this knife. Nice!! I like those griffin xs
I think the BELAIR has reset the standard for affordable USA made knives with decent steel
For me it’s the winterblade factor 8 and the Kunwu Tao 2
I'm glad someone mentioned Winterblade Co. They're putting out knives on a whole other level
3:57 the Narrows is less than half the weight… just sayin’ 😈
The Pyrite is probably the best budget knife for me as well.
Merry Christmas, Doody.
Haha I’d rather have this brick in my pocket than that disgusting Narrows
Preach @@doodysdaggers
The Rosie didn’t come out this year.. but the XL did! 😃
Oh yeah you’re right!
I went with the drift large instead of the LCT. I don’t regret it
lct is ugly in comparison
I skipped out on the Drift LCT cus I have the Drift L and love it. But I just got the Catch and it’s AMAZING. I think it’s my new fav QC and it’s my 6th knife from them. They are the best company plain and simple
Would you want to let me borrow it so I can make a video with it??
@ yea man I gotchu lmk how u wanna do it. I can send it after Xmas! I get nervous about missing packages during the holidays
Plus it’s gonna be my Christmas package knife this year haha
The LCT is knife of the year for me. It's like if a Shaman and Lamia had a love child. I don't mind the weight at all. I have a Compadre too and I like it, but that thing destroys my thumbnail and has nicked me a few times enough to bleed. The Sharp edge just digs in when it's drops.
Yeah the Compadre has gotten me a few times too
Kershaw Bel Air or TRM Bulldog. I have almost 150 knives and only duplicates of two…. Yep these two.
Those are both really good picks!
I'd say the pyrite light over the top raccoon just because it's almost half the price of the raccoon. I feel like at the $200 price point, the dlc militaw has to take the cake for action, ergos, and hype imo. As fas as more expensive knives, i haven't handled enough to say. I agree!
The Militaw looks nice. Kershaw stepped it up.
Out of the knifes I got this year, not came out but got, would be between ad 20.5 and compadre
Both amazing
Not sure if you're asking us to pick a knife you've shown or a knife that we (your audience) have purchased? If you are talking about what you acquired, the one you're flicking in this video is my selection. The LCT is the one.
No you personally, what’s the knife of the year for you?
Shark Cub for me dood
Shark cub 🔥
For me the best knife is the new Kunwu Excalibur in S390 steel, I didn't have it but it's awesome.
Yeah I gotta try that one
I just ordered a Drift Large!
Nice!
I really wish they would have put a finger choil on the lct
LCT is a no for me. It's beautiful and has great egos but that hole sucks! Those two budget knives you mentioned are great though. I gave both to my wife.
ADV knives are my favorite have a good night.
😂 best budget knife ontario rat 1.5 magnacut.
I really enjoy your videos, your perspective, even your jacket, but that earing...
You mean earrings? I have 3
@@doodysdaggersdon’t forget the nip rings 😉 😂
i think the drift large is way better than the drift lct
Kunwu conpadre easy.
What about all the talk about USA only knives lol. Made in Taiwan.
If your anything like me the knife of the year is my most recent interest.
Possible KOY....made in taiwan....imagine that....
Yep..
If jackwolf was made in usa and kept their 300 price point they would seriously be the best knife company in the world ..
They have everything going for them except where their made...
100%
