Gutted that you must have brought a second Arc, hoping that your first may have been a defective unit? Only to realise an issue with the model itself?! It is such a shame that Leatherman seems to first have been slow to improve, and now it seems, lending the Leatherman name to sub par excellence for the atcual premium price point. @dualsportoutdoors The poor heat treated soft steel sharpens easier comment make me chuckle. Everyones a genius behind a keyboard. Love the channel BTW, keep up the great vids and twisting panties in a bunch🤣
Been seeing your comments on a few videos I've been hoping you'd make a video
I was going to release it in February but I decided to release it now to spare people's wallets for Christmas. This is the only Leatherman model I've ever had problems with. 2 Arcs, 2 fails. Pretty sad
@dualsportoutdoors I'm sorry that happened I couldn't imagine the frustration
@@Daveggay I was P.O. for sure. That's over $400 in failed multitools. I could have brought a lot of stuff to the channel for that money
@dualsportoutdoors not just with the innovation but with the quality in proving so fast and for the price I make be converting to roxon..I have the Swisstool spirit x and the leatherman surge love them both ..and keeping and eye on roxon..when the upgrade the ks2 to the ks2 elite alot of people just focused on the d2 blade upgrade they upgraded all of it for only 8 dollers more..there listening to the people
No idea why anyone would by an Arc when you can get a Swiss tool spirit Mx clip for $110 shipped
@@clintonsmith8215 I have one of those as well
If mine is like this when it comes in im going to return it
@@destortions let me know how it turns out! I really hope the QC on the Arc comes under control!
Not worth $279
@@appleztooranges not even close
really? I thought you liked it?
Thanks for sharing. Personally I have stayed away from the Arc.
As a fan of the charge and surge In particular, I like the easily accessible outer opening full tool set.
However, as opposed to the surge, I do not like the absence of a serrated blade, the shorter blade and smaller scissors.
I did not realise the extent of all the functional issues above and beyond what I see in my opinion, as design flaws. That was an interesting video you share, so thanks again for that!
Why do you think they have gone in this direction rather than truly living up to "the best" name in multitools?
Cheers.
@@johnpain8380 it's definitely sad. I was expecting great things from the Arc. So much so that I've spent an obscene amount of money giving it two chances. I might give it one more shot sometime down the road but for now I can't recommend it
I appreciate the honesty! Many thanks.
I know what you mean about the price racking up as I have lost a couple in the past ( a skeletool cx and a charge TTI), and replaced them.
I can only hope future models do not fail to impress.
Hmm…… So, many issues! I don’t understand why there are so many issues! A bottle opener that can’t open bottles? WTF?
@@johnkraemer5505 right?
Click bait video...
"Don't buy"
"I hate this bla bla"
"I know everything"
@@MrBigbird007 you clearly didn't watch the video because I never said I hated it. I said I wanted to love it but it had several massively fatal flaws. You Leatherman staff members should be glad I didn't mention the fact that I sent two of my other tools in for warranty and they came back with the exact same issues I sent them in with. Now that is something I HATE. Take your trolling elsewhere, mind midget.
Yeah knock the coating off the scissors edge,I have a original Arc an scissors are razor sharp
@@kennywheelus6857 my original Arc's scissors were much better than the Obsidian for sure. I no longer own either one. I'll probably wait a year and give the Arc another shot
@dualsportoutdoors ,oh ok,yeah maybe by then they'll have all the bugs worked out an hopefully you get a good one,I will eventually replace.y cutters but for now they do as intended an cut metal wire at work,if needed for tad heavier duty,I got my surge as well.
@dualsportoutdoors , honestly if pioneer nextorch multitool the mt20 had a bit longer blade like the Arc or surge an ite tool steel for handles were made of a tougher steel,I may consider getting one, when you open up for pliers it has first responder shears an the you pull open othe handle an there is pliers, both are spring loaded an has a oxygen shut off tool within the handle a strap cutter,an hand cuff zip tie cutter,it's pretty Kool,I spoke with someone from the company, there working on other colors an glow in dark hande scales in future an possible different toolban knife steel, right now it's going for 109.00
Not to sure why you are questioning that the sheath is made in the states. Everything made in the states nowadays is shit quality 🤷♂️
That comment tells me you know nothing of EDC gear and probably work for a foreign company
@dualsportoutdoors first off i do know stuff about edc gear and my statement is 100% true. Nothing made now in the states is as good of quality as it was 20 or 30 years ago. And for the foreign statement you made. I'm a Canadian. Why tf would I work for a foreign company?
@ezraredgwell ah so you're a troll from a Nazimuffin country that doesn't even allow you to carry gear that isn't made by Nazimuffins. I get it now
Its been a minute they stopped evolving 😅🎉 chinese market is shaming them with half the effort (and price) 😂
China shames the Arc big time. I have chinese Gerbers and SOGs that make this look like an Ozark Trail
I'm with you on the ark I think it's overpriced it's fragile the tools really made for guys that sit behind desks if you want something outdoors you get the Leatherman Wave if you're in the Leatherman I carry a Leatherman surge I prefer it over anything else I have a super tool 300 good tool but the surge is better but that ark is just overrated it ain't worth the price if you sit behind a desk hey go ahead man you got plenty of money to waste go for it but again I'm with you the arcs overrated
@@TwistedFatwood I usually run my Surge. It's out for warranty work right now
i had to send my surge in for warranty last year i broke the plier head it took 2 months to get it back
@TwistedFatwood I broke a lock
I got a Leatherman Micra, Leatherman Rebar, Leatherman Arc, Victorinox Huntsman, Gerber Quadrent all 3 black ,bamboo and white handles and now new to the collection is Roxon Flex companion so not sure bout you but the Arc is the Shi*
@niheimthegadite7843 I've owned every Leatherman model ever made and nearly every Gerber, Victorinox, and SOG. The Arc is the worst of all. Anyone claiming the Arc is good doesn't do anything with their tools that could even be considered use in my eyes. I live on a ranch, work in the automotive industry, and do outdoorsy stuff. My multitools see REAL work every day and I can tell you from having owned two Arcs that they can't handle anything harder than an office job where they open envelopes and use the pliers to unjam a stapler
