When I was a trainee engineman on Victorian Railways we weren't allowed to have a radio in the cab although travelling from Melbourne to Albury or vice versa we used to listen to the radio as long as there were no foremen on the loco.
The music at the end - 👌I thought to myself when I started watching "These two blokes look like they'll jump into an AU Falcon or VK Commodore", and the music just drove that home 😂 Great video! I've watched many a cab view from the UK or European countries, but not so many from Australia. Many thanks 👍
That Locomotive Life statistics page is actually really cool haha Probably handy for maintenance as well as general usage data. Very cool video! Thanks so much for sharing! :)
They were all UK immigrants. Their talent was effectively imported. We have no claim of credit. Only difference to the Bee Gees was they remained Sydney based.
So sad to see the Zig-Zag Railway depot in that condition :-( Been there in 2001. All the best from the Netherlands. Good video of the trip, bye the way!
Nice! At Wallerawang, wouldn't it ne easier to have the Up line extended to the branch so down trains don't have to wait at 'Wang for trains off the branch?
Тепловозы Австралии и звуки их гудков, очень похожи на Американские! Помощник машиниста, прикладывает к уху тангенту рации, хотя там находится только микрофон или нет? Спасибо за видео!
It's not a signal. It's a mainline indicator (MLI). In train order territory there are no signals. A flashing white on an MLI displays that all points are set for the mainline and all crossing are active.
Radios, phones, tablet in driving cabs in UK is a massive no no. If a driver is caught with any electronic mobile device that is switched on, or even reading a newspaper there is a very high chance they'd be sacked. Huge distraction and SPAD risk. Unios won't touch them either as the unions agreed to policies.
Pretty cool stereo system, nice touch AC/DC Thunderstruck.
Good therapy for old Retired Drivers. Music at the end is suitable too. Cheers.

Very neat to see the similarities and differences between Australia and North America.
You might enjoy this one as well.

I've often wondered when they will replace the rusty catenary stauntions up the blue mountains. No doubt a expensive undertaking
Glad to see you put Lawson in there. :)
great video
Acca Dakka while driving a BFO diesel train - doesn't get anymore Australian than that !
Scottish you mean.
@@jamesfrench7299 not really. As a real Scotsman, AC/DC is about as Scottish to me as kangaroos and the Sydney Harbour Bridge
@@jamesfrench7299 acdc is an australian band

AWESOME choice of music!!
Bevan I am assuming that was the Dynamic Brake is what I could here coming down the range.
Sure was.
Really well filmed 👍
Wow, I want to be a train driver, looks like an amazing job 😊

Awesome Vid. Thanks!
Nice job men ,thanks
thank you for detail video
Love it....great ride...👌
Well done video just a bit more on the braking system would be great and the signal systems in NSW all round a bloody good video
Nice! At Wallerawang, wouldn't it ne easier to have the Up line extended to the branch so down trains don't have to wait at 'Wang for trains off the branch?
Didn’t expect to see a Tasrail loco there at 16:16, presumably that’s the Zig Zag railway at Lithgow.
It said Zig Zag on the sign.
Great video, would the Nr class have to do the same routine and setup as the CEY class?
And the cab is quiet....that's great.
Are these similar to NR Class loco's ive been inside one of them and it look very similar (I am not a driver - just an enthusiast)
Is it just me or does this big powerful loco need a more gutsy horn!! Maybe one off a C Class would be more fitting!
Great video! Is it the HD version of the previous video?
Yes, it is!
Quite a number of tunnels.

Nice video! Why do you need to honk the horn at every tunnel? I like hearing Australian accents.
Just in case anyone is inside, just a warning toot.
The start of the video, love the dynamic brakes.
Best cab ride video I’ve seen 👌🏼

AC/DC what more could you ask for !!!!!!!!!!!!
can you explain what was going on with the signal at the start?

which button...........activates the flux capacitor?
at 25:05,only in electrified territory.
how dare you interrupt thunderstruck, that calls for a crusade
is it competitive to get a job as a loco driver?
I am amazed, that the engine only has 24k hours on it, in 22 years... (10:15)
Thats like 7 minutes of runtime per day
The locos at the time of the video recording were no more than 4 years old.
@@MrBargonian ok, so the last reset date is just a placeholder date?
@@9deviltiger9 most likely, or thats when the system firmware was written to use as a default date/time.
has 526km on the speedo, 1/3 the way to a rebuild.
Not sure I'd celebrate entering Lawson with AC/DC...
Badass
Awesome . . .
Thunder !!
Airily to Penrith in 25min….pull the tape! 😂
No entiendo ni una jota de este video.

But there's plenty of UK cab ride video's, Don Coffey for example has loads of videos.

Could have asked the driver to cheer up. Maybe don’t choose him next time.
