I found my mom brutally murdered in her home and I started playing this over and over during periods of extreme sadness.I love this song particiulaly Sarah McLaugbhlin and of course Billie's version,BUT when I heard this I was floored. Never before has a song affected me like this.I don't understand German ,but it does not matter. It's very short ad I would love to know where I could hear it fully.
Gloomy Sunday with a hundred white flowers I was waiting for you my dearest with a prayer A Sunday morning, chasing after my dreams The carriage of my sorrow returned to me without you It is since then that my Sundays have been forever sad Tears my only drink, the sorrow my bread... Gloomy Sunday thats the english translation, beautiful song!
Hi, I thought you would like to have a translation for this song. This here: Lonely Sundays I've spent too much, today I make my way into the long night. Soon burn candles and smoke makes my eyes moist. Weep not friends, because finally I feel slightly. The last breath takes me forever home, in the realm of shadows that I will be safe, sad Sunday. Greetings
Reszo Seress has written this song when his girlfriend which had to be his wife, broke up with him and when he so the success he had with the song he informed now his ex which hung up finally knowing that she will never be able to share(taste) the success
sorry guys, but the actual suicide song is not the gloomy sunday (written by Laszlo Javor), that was called 'Vege a vilagnak' (translation: World has become to end) written by Rezso Seress himself in 1933. The original was replaced, because that was too depressing and actually triggered some suicides... sorry, that's the truth
this is a very beautiful song. it's really stupid connecting suicide events with this song. its just that those who commit suicide after listening to this beautiful song are over acting and already have suicidal ideations with them even before listening to this song. their depressed feelings were aggravated by the mellow&sad genre of this song which leads to their ethically unhustifiable & sinful death. how poor! save their souls oh GOD! pray for them...
Also bitte bleib sachlicher in deiner Einstellung.
Dude...The Original Was NOT Destroyed and banned because i have the actual original and I am part hungarian and dude there is already a movie about this song
i will, some day, i would love to learn german, its a great language.:) and when it comes to the other things you are mentioning, i write the way i do because i choose to, and not because i am ignorant. furthermore, i am pretty sure that i know at least hundreds of english words that you do not even understand ;) cheers
i keep looking, too. i think they were all destroyed. there have been uhungarians who sang it, bt i know it cant possibly have been the original version, so...
I'm sorry, I do not speak German, noone does, apart from Germans, obviously. So, may I kindly suggest for you to learn some fucking English, pretty please with the white cream and sugar on the top, if you really feel the need to comment on other, non-german speaking people's comments. It's still not too late. Much love from Norway.
i find this somewhat amusing. this is exactly the way the rest of the world percepts usa, as being paranoid and scared of the rest of the world. and, with a strong believe in perscription medication too:) my advice to you would be to cut down on the perscription medication, go for a hike, be kind to yourself;) and try to losen up a little. you would be a whole lot friendlier that way. have a good day.
Also you have probably meant "belief" instead of believe. One is a noun the other a verb. Moreover always capitalize "I", never start a sentence with the word "and" and loosen has to o's My advise to you is try taking up german, your english sucks! :D

Annál azért sokkal jobb főleg ,hogy ugyanaz énekli magyarul is.
Az a meglepő ,hogy hallgatható.:)

Dude...The Original Was NOT Destroyed and banned because i have the actual original and I am part hungarian and dude there is already a movie about this song
So you are saying that I am not supposed to watch German movies, just because I do not speak German?
@stanislavsd It is because she is hungarian :)
