I think it wd be even quicker to make by not pleating the top fabric- just double it with or without interfacing the same width as the pleated or gathered towel. Love the idea of snaps tho as I hate making buttonholes n sewing on buttons
Oh my gosh in over 50 years I cant believe I’ve never thought of or come across this idea before! I’m gonna make sooo many hand towels especially! Awesome!
Oh I love this version, and you have given me and idea to up-cycle all those embroidery vintage hand towels by using 2 for each one, thank you thank you, and hello sweet Coco.
Thanks Christine this is just what I have been looking for Have been trying to work out on how to make something like this on top of a tea towel dot half way but now you have done it for me😁
I really like this method, I have made them your previous style, I’ve made ones with buttons, and now I’m going to try this. Thank you, your instructions are very clear, as always.
This is a terrific video! I was looking for sewing projects for Christmas in July to get ahead of the holidays. Tell your Mom thanks for bringing the idea. ❤
Christine, these are lovely. My only concern is, when putting these towels over the handle of the oven, they drag on the floor when I open the oven door:(. I guess I have to remember to remove them when baking?😜
I probably shouldn't admit this, but if the towels hang on the floor for a few seconds whilst I open the oven door, I don't usually worry about it. I have more trouble with them falling off when they're not secured😀
As I watched this video, I think these are super cute, but I’m lazy. So my brain said, I’d do it this way. I’d sew the towels flat to the fabric, pleat it all at one time, not have a pleat on the inside/back, press it all, with the fabric edge folded up for the area across the back, stitch the tube closed, then when flipped, it would be open across the towels on the inside/back, but the top stitching would close it. Add snaps and done. 🤷🏻♀️

This is a terrific video! I was looking for sewing projects for Christmas in July to get ahead of the holidays. Tell your Mom thanks for bringing the idea. ❤
These would make great gifts for Christmas😀
Christine, you could even put some little ties on both sides.
You sure could Wilma. Thank you😁
Great idea Christine.
Thanks Adam😀

Could I do crazy patchwork. To make them look 'country' or will it be too thick and bulky😊
I think it would work Erin😁
Would you please tell me what sew machine you have? Thank you 😊. Love your videos
Thanks Janice. I use a Prosew machine. You'll find more info in a video review I did a while back😀
I need a way to make the double sided towels with ties to put on cabinet doors that are vertical. Any help is appreciated.
I'll have to give that one some thought Pat😁
What is the reason for putting pleats in the fabric? It looks nice!
I was wondering that too. Seems like an unnecessary time consuming addition. It looks nice I guess but takes time.
It's just something a little different to do Lucy😀
What sewing machine do have Christine???
*you
Barbara, I use Jack and Prosew machines. I've done reviews for both😁
hi!!
Hiya Joy. Hope you're keeping well😀

I did it like that too, same method I use for cuffs and collars on shirts.
That's a great idea Barbara. I might have to do these again one day😀
Whilst these look really lovely I don’t understand why you would not just hang the towel over the rail, is there a reason for hanging them this way?
No reason at all. Just something a little different to have in the kitchen😁
🪡 🙂🙃🥰
Thanks Joy😀
Ohhh....don't stab yourself with the awl. Oops, I need to listen to the instructions better. But that's why I keep bandaids in the sewing room.😊
Haha, I've done it a few times Sue😀
