    I remember going to liberty land a lot as a child and visiting the zoo as well. If you was from north Mississippi those were the places to vacation July 4th.

    A park that opened under a non-profit code closed because it wasn't making a profit...

      Likewise, I had a blast at Liberty Land when I was a child!!! It was huge to us as a child and we were proud of it! The Zip’n Pip’n, as rickety as it was, was very fun and scary at the same time!

    Yes, that did happen. I remember it being on the news
    But I have never heard of it being haunted. As far as the trial, it never went anywhere.

    I always enjoyed going to Libertyland when I was a kid. The Ozark Ridge Runner was my favorite ride. I really miss it.

    I’m 50 years old and relocated from Memphis to Washington DC in the mid 80s. I was saddened to hear that Libertyland closed and have very fond memories of my visits to the theme park. Also, I’ve never heard of the urban legion and haunting of Libertyland. Thank you for this well-done video.

    • @OutofBody

      Thank you for watching! Some say the haunting at libertyland is false and some say it's true. It's one of those things where I wish it was all still standing so I could check it out myself. Appreciate you stopping by!

      Liana, same here. I’m 52 and relocated from Memphis to DC in 1979. As a kid I would spend the summers there with my grandparents. Couldn’t wait to go to Libertyland every summer.

    Memories...🥲 I rode everything in that park, including that carousel... Never experienced a dead young man and have never heard that story before...🤔 I used to love this place! Home Sweet Home!!!

    • @OutofBody
      @OutofBody  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I had had the chance to experience it when it was still alive! By the time I moved here, it was already shut down :( yeah I've heard people who will swear to the story being true (they worked there at the time it happened) and others who swear it didn't....so who knows really, but I find it all interesting. I mostly do these videos to display the history of these places. That's what I find most interesting. I love Memphis. It is home :)

    I worked the carousel that first summer. I had quit for a vacation and to return to college. The tragic event occurred after I left the job. He was a happy kid who always want to make sure everyone had a good experience. I’ll have to go to the children’s museum the next time I’m in town.

    • @OutofBody
      @OutofBody  ปีที่แล้ว

      wow thank you for sharing that, it's great to have confirmation from someone who knew him! I actually went to the children's museum recently and rode the carousel. Was really fun and also a little eerie knowing the awful tragedy that happened.

      Out of Body Memphis is boring after living here my whole life. Nothing to really do for fun anymore.

    • @OutofBody
      @OutofBody  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I can understand that. Heck even for me it seems boring at times. Seems like the music scene left before I came here. Stinks because I'm a musician. My band is doing ok though, there's just not really a rock music scene here anymore. We make do.

    I don't recall Liberty Land being haunted, I'm in my mid 30s only thing I find haunting was how fast the Revolution roller-coaster ended, up down loop and over

    It is NOT a legend. I worked at Libertyland the first 3 years it was open. I worker WAS caught in the gears of the Grand Carousel. That was the ONLY time we ever saw management running through the park. Running in the park was prohibited, so we knew something bad had happened.

    • @OutofBody
      @OutofBody  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my gosh I'm so glad you found my video. Amazing to have someone's first hand account of what happened. I believed it was true anyway, but I'm sad now to know for sure that someone died in such a way. Do you think management kept it quiet to keep people from avoiding the park? Just curious. Thank you for your comment!
