Little correction. There is only 3 or 4 people died due to gas explosion in Sri Lanka in last few months. Not 30 or something like that. But there are so many gas explosions (not the gas tank) in last few months. The reason is gas companies of Sri Lanka changed the gas constitution (propane, butane percentage) and due to that pressure has been increased inside the gas cylinder. So finally I can say that, if you see a gas cylinder in Sri Lanka during these days, run machaaaaaannnn.....! (Just a joke 😉)

Correction. There are about 800+ incidents of domestic gas cylinder exlplosions in about 1-2 months. But fatalities are less than 8, not 30 at all. This was because companies have changed the composition of gas inside the cylinders, but now they have corrected it and we hear only rare incidents, probably from the few gas cylinders of older stocks. So brother, you don't need to worry, Sri Lanka is safe. Enjoy the beautiful island!

Addressing a press briefing organized by the President’s office today, he said a total of 847 gas-related accidents have been reported so far in 2021.
He said 797 of the accidents were reported involving the Litro Gas Lanka cylinders, while 50 incidents were reported involving the domestic gas cylinders of Laugfs Gas PLC.
A total of 7 individuals have died and 16 individuals have got injured this year due to gas-related accidents.
From the 2.8 million gas cylinders sold in November, only 797 have reported issues, which is 0.02%."

10:17 OMG he provided some really wrong information to you regarding gas explosions. Only 2 people have died since these explosions started, however there have been many explosions like over 1000 I guess, so many got injured. And it has occurred due to a gas composition issue not due to a regulator issue.
Actually the gas composition chnaged the pressure, cylinders could handle it, but not most regulators and other connected appliances
@@alienamzal477 That isn't the case. It was proven in the inquiry done by Professor Jayatilake from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. No other country add such high mole fractions of propane with lower mole fractions of butane. Most of the time gas leaked out of the connector in the gas cylinder itself. So even the gas cylinders can not withstand the high pressure, so how can the regulator withstand it.

A typical real home styles 5 star you are missing in Kandy is called Mahaweli Reach Hotel, belong to one of my school buddies from 40 years ago when we were in college together, its a ancestral home with original 4 bed rooms now a beautiful 5 star with over 130 rooms in beautiful setting by the Mahaweli river and just a a scenic hotel and not a high-rise. check out if you can its called Mahaweli Reach Hotel

If you want to explore the very rural, ancient type of village you can explore the old village of Meemure in the central part of the country among the Knuckles mountain range. You have to start your journey from Kandy towards Mahiyangana road, then you have to turn at Hunnasgiriya junction towards Meemure village. Bit lengthy journey but unparalleled beautiful journey. Not very popular among foreign tourists. But it will be a novel experience for you. Try a village like hotel Meemure wenasa, ( you can google and see). Don’t get caught to scam guides and fake guides. Best way to get there via tuktuk or scooter from Hunnasgiriya town. Up to there you have various types of public transport from Kandy town. You can contact the above hotel (Mr Chaminda) if you like and contacts are available in their website. Hiking. Trekking, water falls and ancient village experience you may have.
Explore and enjoy Sri Lanka safely.
