I come from a closeby village, Naranpanawa. These locations were our hiking destinations in my childhood. The river beneath is Huluganga, coming all the way from the Knuckles mountain range which is a fantastic destination for hiking. Also you can see Hunnasgiriya mountain which is also a hiking destination. Not forgeting the numerous other natural beauties and rich eco system values by the nature lovers. I really miss these places which I roamed freely in the past.

Hey Dude, if your in Kandy go visit the Dalada Maligawa (temple of tooth), the Asgiriya and Malwatte temples. Ask them whether they have meditation retreats and that's when you will experience the real tranquility of Kandy!

If you visit sri lanka ,you must go santani wellness resort and spa..
Peaceful on the Sinhalese side while many Tamils in the north are still suffering to this day from the war that happened. Maybe travel up to Jaffna and speak to the locals there and let them show you a different view of SriLanka.
