This song/video was one of my husband's very favorite. Many a night we sat, munching from a big bowl of popcorn while we listened to this one and others. Sadly, he passed away December 11, 2021. I played this for him in the nursing home, in the hospital, and when we brought him home for three days at the very last. My tears fell hot and heavy as I sobbed and hoped he could hear it even though he couldn't respond. By God's Grace and the Blood of the Lamb, I plan to "meet him in the morning," whenever that may be -- and yes, I will know him by that sweet, captivating smile of his!!

I'll Meet You In The Morning was written in 1958. It was written for the funeral of the great Nazarene hymn writer Haldor Lillenas.
Now 2 of these great singers are singing in Heaven, Ben Speer and most recently Calvin Newton! Rest in peace, Calvin!

Heaven is going to be a reunion like nothing we have ever experienced on this earth. Not only will we get to greet loved ones that have gone on before but we will finally get to greet and meet the patriarchs of the bible. I cant wait to talk to Paul and Peter and tell them what a blessing it was to read their words of love and encouragement. And I want to get in that long long line that will circle the heavens. That so very long line that may take a while, but I will be patiently trudging along. I want to see Jesus. I want to tell Him above all else how much His love for me carried me so very many times when I didn't deserve it, times He should have let me go, but didn't. My worship for Him will never never end. Thank you Jesus!!!
This world has no pull on me as I am ready for heaven where no evil and wrong will ever be because of no devil there!!!! Jesus will be our all in all through all eternity. I love Jesus today but will love Him there with all my being. Praise His wonderful name!

This song has done more to me than I imagined. My very close friend had passed away, and I listened to this song every single day, probably twenty times a day, it was on repeat, at first I would sing crying but I started singing it with the hope that's embedded in it, the hope that I will see my friend in that glorious morning when Christ returns and from then I started singing this song with a joy in my heart and a smile on my face, the smile my friend will know me by! Thank you Gaither, thank you for helping me through a very difficult time.
I lost my grandmother 3 weeks ago. The song that has been on repeat for me is Marty Stuart and his group singing "The Unseen Hand." I've played this one in times past, and tonight it made me cry. This world is not my home. My home is where my grandmother and The Lord are at in Heaven. I am ready to go there. She and I were very close, so this hasn't been easy at all to go through. I would appreciate prayers for me and my family at this time. Though it is painful to lose someone I love very dearly I know that I'll see her again, and meet her "in the morning."

I used to go to Medina temple in Chicago back in the 50's-60's and watch Calvin Newton (with the Blackwood Brothers and then the Oak Ridge Boys), as well as Ben Speer (Speer Family) live at the all-night sings. What a great time that was, and it's so nice to see both of these men still singing for Jesus all these years later. I'm so glad Bill Gaither had the forethought to put so much of this talent on video.
My brother was passed away in 2013 due to heart problem. And my sister was murdered in 2021. I will meet them in the morning...yes, of course.
What makes Calvin Newton’s story so special is that he spent time with the Blackwood Brothers and the Oak Ridge Quartet in the 50’s and then had a falling out. He spent several decades in and out of trouble with the law, even serving a few terms in prison. It wasn’t until he was in his 70’s (with the help of Jake Hess) that he returned to his faith and Gospel music. Calvin Newton will be 90 years old in 2019.

What a wonderful, rich blessing gospel music is to the soul. Every time I watch this, I almost tear up at the beautiful harmony, and just thinking about what the music will be like in Heaven! I listen to these two (old) greats of gospel music (well 4 really, but only 2 are REALLY old!) - and I miss them! They are outstanding examples of real Southern gospel and indeed are a light unto my soul. I so APPRECIATE their - and many others like them - GREAT contributions to southern gospel music. I really cannot imagine what heaven will be like. Also just want to say Calvin Newton just might be one of a very few 81-year olds that really has not lost his voice - he was simply wonderful in this song. THANK YOU for posting!

Sometimes the Lord shows me what He wants me to do and listen to. I woke up with this song going in my mind. I just had to listen to it. I had never heard it before and I am so grateful that here it is 3 AM and I am praising His name with all my heart. Blessed be His name.

I take so much comfort in the Gaithers. My parents watched when I was a kid and it's memories for me. My dad passed away 10yrs ago and we lost my sister 2 weeks ago :'( I will surely meet them waiting for us at heavens gates Amen!
After reading the numerous comments about this song I'll meet you in the morning, I guess I didn't make a mistake 6 years ago this January. When my mother was feeling very well no medical problems, she made a request if anything ever happens to me please have I'll meet you in the morning played at my funeral. My minister's wife Donna Neal, who has since went to be with the Lord put this song on one of her to releases. I granted mom's wish and the song was played. All of my family, in my law enforcement friends thought I did such a great job during mom's passing. when they played this song at her service I totally went to pieces I just couldn't handle it at all. This does tell me I will meet both Dad and Mom after I go through those Pearly Gates, and I'm sure we'll sit down by the river as both my folks love to fish.

A dentist didn't believe I wAS ALLERGIC TO A MEDICATION AND GAVE IT TO ME ALYWAY. i COULD BARELY SPEAK FOR A YEAR AND WHEN i TRIED TO SING i COULDN'T SING ANYMORE. i TOOK YEARS OF VOICE LESSONS EVERYONE ELSE IN OUR FAMILY SINGS BUT i NEED THE LORD TO HEAL MY VOICE SO I CAN SING FOR HIM AGAIN.
Will do! I understand. All in my family sing. Some much more so than others and it's such a blessing to be able to sing. My niece had to have surgery for something and the anesthesiologist didn't believe her either when she stated an allergy to a particular drug and gave it to her anyway! She went into convulsions and a coma! We barely got her back!!!
