This song/video was one of my husband's very favorite. Many a night we sat, munching from a big bowl of popcorn while we listened to this one and others. Sadly, he passed away December 11, 2021. I played this for him in the nursing home, in the hospital, and when we brought him home for three days at the very last. My tears fell hot and heavy as I sobbed and hoped he could hear it even though he couldn't respond. By God's Grace and the Blood of the Lamb, I plan to "meet him in the morning," whenever that may be -- and yes, I will know him by that sweet, captivating smile of his!!
Just now I heard my niece has gone to heaven. I am hearing this song, remembering 48-year long fighter against breast cancer. All sadness is temporary. I hope this will teach me more.
In memory of my grandma who passed away last night after a long battle with lupus and dementia. This was her favorite gospel hymn. Played it for her the day she passed. I'll meet you in heaven, Grandma!
'2022' Calvin and Ben have both moved on and I wonder if they ever thought their music would still be ministering to people today, I love all of them but when I hear Calvin sing I can feel the Spirit! God bless them all
After reading the numerous comments about this song I'll meet you in the morning, I guess I didn't make a mistake 6 years ago this January. When my mother was feeling very well no medical problems, she made a request if anything ever happens to me please have I'll meet you in the morning played at my funeral. My minister's wife Donna Neal, who has since went to be with the Lord put this song on one of her to releases. I granted mom's wish and the song was played. All of my family, in my law enforcement friends thought I did such a great job during mom's passing. when they played this song at her service I totally went to pieces I just couldn't handle it at all. This does tell me I will meet both Dad and Mom after I go through those Pearly Gates, and I'm sure we'll sit down by the river as both my folks love to fish.
This is to my little baby girl Amelia. The good Lord drew her home at 3 months old. I guess he needed another angel. Hold tight baby girl, daddy will meet you in the in the morning to hold you forever.
+Matthew Fouts MY dear friend . . . I am so sorry . . . Still, I admire your faith and assurance . . . I wish 'I' were as strong. You'll see her AGAIN . . . brand new . . .
+Matthew Fouts I am deeply saddened for your loss; may you be carried in COMFORT and peace as tidal waves of hurt and grief come over you.. be carried in PEACE through this adjustment...
+Matthew Fouts You have real estate, to look forward to seeing...I have a daughter, a son, I so look forward to seeing again...does it hurt, certainly but we serve God Who makes no mistakes and yes His grace is sufficient...Hallelujah! for it's but a short time before we each one leave for our meeting...God bless you my friend
Heaven is going to be a reunion like nothing we have ever experienced on this earth. Not only will we get to greet loved ones that have gone on before but we will finally get to greet and meet the patriarchs of the bible. I cant wait to talk to Paul and Peter and tell them what a blessing it was to read their words of love and encouragement. And I want to get in that long long line that will circle the heavens. That so very long line that may take a while, but I will be patiently trudging along. I want to see Jesus. I want to tell Him above all else how much His love for me carried me so very many times when I didn't deserve it, times He should have let me go, but didn't. My worship for Him will never never end. Thank you Jesus!!!
i remember telling my Dad that if he cannot wait for me to get home , then I'm gonna meet him in the morning...hearing this song just comforts my heart...thanks for sharing...
What wonderful voices they all have, especially considering their age! It's great that Guy was able to sing with them, what a treat for him, as well as the audience! You can tell these men have followed God's path for many, many years, praising him in song! They are truly incredible.
This song has done more to me than I imagined. My very close friend had passed away, and I listened to this song every single day, probably twenty times a day, it was on repeat, at first I would sing crying but I started singing it with the hope that's embedded in it, the hope that I will see my friend in that glorious morning when Christ returns and from then I started singing this song with a joy in my heart and a smile on my face, the smile my friend will know me by! Thank you Gaither, thank you for helping me through a very difficult time.
I lost my grandmother 3 weeks ago. The song that has been on repeat for me is Marty Stuart and his group singing "The Unseen Hand." I've played this one in times past, and tonight it made me cry. This world is not my home. My home is where my grandmother and The Lord are at in Heaven. I am ready to go there. She and I were very close, so this hasn't been easy at all to go through. I would appreciate prayers for me and my family at this time. Though it is painful to lose someone I love very dearly I know that I'll see her again, and meet her "in the morning."
This world has no pull on me as I am ready for heaven where no evil and wrong will ever be because of no devil there!!!! Jesus will be our all in all through all eternity. I love Jesus today but will love Him there with all my being. Praise His wonderful name!
Sometimes the Lord shows me what He wants me to do and listen to. I woke up with this song going in my mind. I just had to listen to it. I had never heard it before and I am so grateful that here it is 3 AM and I am praising His name with all my heart. Blessed be His name.
I used to go to Medina temple in Chicago back in the 50's-60's and watch Calvin Newton (with the Blackwood Brothers and then the Oak Ridge Boys), as well as Ben Speer (Speer Family) live at the all-night sings. What a great time that was, and it's so nice to see both of these men still singing for Jesus all these years later. I'm so glad Bill Gaither had the forethought to put so much of this talent on video.
No one knows the day or the hour. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Mark 13:31-33 KJV
What makes Calvin Newton’s story so special is that he spent time with the Blackwood Brothers and the Oak Ridge Quartet in the 50’s and then had a falling out. He spent several decades in and out of trouble with the law, even serving a few terms in prison. It wasn’t until he was in his 70’s (with the help of Jake Hess) that he returned to his faith and Gospel music. Calvin Newton will be 90 years old in 2019.
@@kyungmeeburke821 well i saw him at the 100th anniversary of Lee University in TN, he is an alumni there so he was asked to sing. i don’t rightly know where he is singing now, don’t know if he is even going around and singing because he is 90 something now

Will do! I understand. All in my family sing. Some much more so than others and it's such a blessing to be able to sing. My niece had to have surgery for something and the anesthesiologist didn't believe her either when she stated an allergy to a particular drug and gave it to her anyway! She went into convulsions and a coma! We barely got her back!!!
I take so much comfort in the Gaithers. My parents watched when I was a kid and it's memories for me. My dad passed away 10yrs ago and we lost my sister 2 weeks ago :'( I will surely meet them waiting for us at heavens gates Amen!
Can you imagine what it will be like on that day when we meet the saints in glory. I am going to dance in Miriam's tambourine band and chat to Ruth. The marriage feast of the Lamb will take 7 years there will be so many there. Praise you Jesus. Ronsie
You are so right, Reading your beautiful comment made me cry this morning, I was thinking one day I'll be reunited with my Precious Momma and Pop'O and Granny someday soon. WELL GLORY !!! Man this puts a huge lump in my throat. Thank You Ronsie for a joyful moment. May the glory of God so richly bless you.
If these gentlemen in their old age can praise God like this, what hinders me and you from doing it? For sure I'll be glad to meet my saviour in the morning ❤️
I am so sorry to read about your loss of your baby girl Amelia. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace and strength. AMEN.
Bill Gaither is the greatest musician organizer I ever know. Thank God for Bill and then all these singers. Jesus is real and is the one and only savior.
What a wonderful, rich blessing gospel music is to the soul. Every time I watch this, I almost tear up at the beautiful harmony, and just thinking about what the music will be like in Heaven! I listen to these two (old) greats of gospel music (well 4 really, but only 2 are REALLY old!) - and I miss them! They are outstanding examples of real Southern gospel and indeed are a light unto my soul. I so APPRECIATE their - and many others like them - GREAT contributions to southern gospel music. I really cannot imagine what heaven will be like. Also just want to say Calvin Newton just might be one of a very few 81-year olds that really has not lost his voice - he was simply wonderful in this song. THANK YOU for posting!
What a glorious morning that day will be. I dedicate this song to my late sister who passed on to glory on Easter morning 2001. It's been 18yrs but still feel like yesterday. See you sister on that glorious morning when we meet to part no more.
Lord, I need to meet you in the morning. You are a the One that makes a difference in my life, you cleanse me and sustain me. What an awesome God you are. I really need to meet you.
The cruel hand of death took my beloved Mom. Answered that call when I needed her most in this life. I can't wait for that blissful morning when we gonna continue were we left, just by the river of joy. Waiting with burning hope.
Fantastic. I hear that" hound dog" in the background and that sounds good too. A beautiful message sung by legends of gospel music. It's more than just a song, it's a statement from one person to another regarding where and when they will meet. No fiction, just fact.

I'll Meet You In The Morning was written in 1958. It was written for the funeral of the great Nazarene hymn writer Haldor Lillenas.

I'll meet you in the morning by the bright riverside*
When all sorrow has drifted away
I'll be standin' at the portals when the gates open wide
At the close of life's long weary day
I'll met you in the morning with a 'How do you do?'
And we'll sit down by the river and when rapture of the plane is renewed
You'll know me in the morning by the smile that I wear
When I meet you in the morning by, in the city that is built four square
I will meet you in the morning in the sweet by and by
And exchange the old cross for a crown
There will be no disappointments and nobody shall die
In that land when life's sun goeth down
I'll meet you in the morning with a 'How do you do?'
And we'll sit down by the river and with rapture old acquaintance renew
You'll know me in the morning by the smile that I wear
When I meet you in the morning in the city that is built four square

When I listen to this song I remember my grandma, my sister and my dear friend who has been passed away. For I work far away from my state searching for bread and butter for my family. I couldn't come and join funeral I miss them so badly but now I hope I'll meet in the morning
Cal Newton is in the hospital in Chattanooga with a broken hip. Had a fall, & had surgery this afternoon. Heard nothing further at this point
