Chaotix Mania Plus (Demo 1) :: Walkthrough (720p/60fps)

- What started out as just a character mod is now leading to a whole new HD remaster, experiencing the well recognized 32x game itself. Chaotix Mania will bring the game, Knuckles Chaotix into Sonic Mania, with a new mode that will include all of the chaotix zones given the mania treatment and also include new music and bosses from Chaotix and Sonic Crackers.
So far, this first demo shows off 2 zones, and plays out 1 regular mania special stage. Looking forward to it's progress!

It truly is nice to see that we finally have the Chaotix mod of Mania (Revision 03) now become an in progress Total Conversion through Mania Plus (Revision 05 or 06, not sure which one is in use here), we finally can have an experience more akin to what we got out of my 20I7 program "FFFCEA:00: The (Almost) Definitive Way to Play Chaotix" (th-cam.com/video/tP7fxiXmZu8/w-d-xo.html ), though accommodating for Mania's limitations at this time (lack of a lot of the enemy, boss, and gameplay elements of Chaotix, plus Newtrogic High Zone being its own zone instead of an Adventure Field, and Metal Sonic Kai likely being recycled from that mod of Revision 03 for Egg Reverie, at least until creating new bosses from scratch is possible), this will be a lengthy project and wishfully the final product will be as close to an optimization of what a Console Perfect port of Chaotix would've been but with the experiences that we wish the original game could've had, only time will tell with this one. (:
But Chaotix's main gimmick was the tether. It doesn't make sense deleting it.
cool animations there, good work on this project. By the way, do you have any good quality soundcard or DAC? Whenever you destroy a robotnik or monitor sounds so cool.

Really cool. I was just thinking last night that Marina Madness (evening and night ver.) and Botanic Base would be really great ports for Sonic Mania. Really happy that this is in the works 👍👍

Back when just playing through the game did not give you the good ending.
The shield game me an impression that knuckles's jump had a little smear on the start, which would be very cool but it was just the shield

The title screen needs some work, but wow, Knuckles' sprites are quite smooth!
Mod looks nice so far.
A little suggestion: change the mid-boss theme to trial and error, normal boss music to crystal nightmare, alternative boss music to silver screen and hard boiled theme to soda pop.
Also how did you put the Knuckles Chaotix intro at the beggining? Does it replace the FMV intro?
Sounds like some nice themes there.
Also yes, the creator replaced the original intro from mania to the chaotix intro.

No one ever reprograms new enemies or bosses... Just another skin. I mean it's pretty but I hate that no one has figured out how to customize these elements

I gotta say, I love Chaotix. But why anyone would want to actually remake the levels from this game is kind of beyond me.

Jesus Christ the sound format is fucking terrible. It sounds like the dev used a microphone to the monitor to record the music.
Also, the fact that the dev used the PCM-less version of Botanic Base (the percussion not existing) is ridiculously nonsensical beyond belief.
Why is there no tether?
Cause it sucks as a gimmick and if anything no one would want to program it except maybe CNG.
