Nice video, thanks for sharing. You have very clean breaks. It is different than I'm used to. Looks like you did very well in your conditioning and selection. Good job

Thank you Gabe. That is one of the things the judges are very strict on here. They often commented on my birds doing too many "waterfalls"

Hello Dirk just Seen the comp fly how long did they stay up.could see a few out birds from time to time .where they a bit hungry they didn't seem to settle into the job .these are observations not criticisms .I am only watching on a small screen .how high in feet where they in the first 9 mins before they flew lower and how high were they then .did you put them on the clock quickly .you say you pulled 2 for stock .what made you choose these 2 birds ,are they related if so how, sorry I ask so many questions but working out what went right or wrong in a comp can sometimes help for the next time round .was there a breeze or wind the wing action looked a bit quick for setting breaks up .but I will say considering the short time you had to prepare and the bad luck with your birds over the last few years you did very well.Is it soon the start of your breeding season if so what are your plans .reply if you like and best of luck Ian Birkett .

Hi Ian. Yes I called time as soon as they did their first break, then they did well but eventually their looseness caught up with them. I am still satisfied though. I have prepared a video which is currently being edited on how i select and paired my breeders up, which will probably come up tomorrow. The judges said the pigeons had nice wingbeat at the start, but that they thought the birds were very strong. I left with them to the next flier after the judging, so not sure how long they flied after that unfortunately, but they normally fly around 90 minutes if i just give them their normal ration and let them be! The two birds are took out are out now, and bred back into their relatives, and outcrosses from the main hen's side of the family that I got from the flier her parent came from. He stopped last year, so i bought his A-team and stock. Many of the stock were very old and infertile, but those have been removed since, so bringing them into my core family this year, along with some new birds that produced nice offspring when mated into my family last year
