Thanks for posting this......I was here 10 yrs earlier......high school memories. only difference then in 1988 , some one was living there and loved the fact that the house was in "the Texas chainsaw massacre" movie so much....that they would dress up like leather face and his "clan" and chase people that came to see their house.....usually on the weekends. It's a shame that old Victorian house went into such disrepair. I would love to have a property like that, out in the middle of nowhere so I could have my own homestead.
wow, i literally just watched the movie 20 minutes ago and then watched the adamthewoo tour, but it shows how it looks "today" in a different location turned into a diner, the road is completely gone now with grass growing on it, and is almost unrecognizable, then i stumbled upon this "hidden gem" & couldn't believe that you guys actually went to the house and not only showed the outside but gave us the grand fucking tour! that is so fucking cool that you got to see the actual chainsaw house before it was fully demolished, & now people will be able to come watch this tour after they see the film for generations to come! bravo gentlemen, bravo!

Hard to believe that the entire area is now a housing an apartment complex. In 1974 it was open farm land as far as you could see now it's a huge developed area.
I have lived around there in the 60s and I can remember grave roberies, a lot of people missing also. Go to the library and look up old newspaper clippings dated from the 50s or 60s. You will be supprised what you can find. The movie industry picked this spot for a reason. That was an awesome video you made. I thought I was back in Texas for a minute. Some day I will be back.
they should have taken the circular handle from the staircase. It was screen-seen in the movie, and there was nobody for miles to stop them, plus when the demolition crew turned this place into a Diner years later, they removed all the furniture from inside and dumped it anyway so it was just 'garbage' but to horror fans those items inside are props.
June 25th 2022, sadly the property is now under renovation for new construction. Chain link fence now surrounds the entire area. Glad I got to see it earlier this year for the first and last time.
It's weird to see that there is absolutely nothing there now. It's even more weird to imagine the whole place replaced by apartments and condos in the near future. I wish I was super rich so I could buy and preserve that land, build a replica of the Sawyer and Old Farm houses and allow fans of the franchise to stay a night or two in them.
@@residentevil5fan18 That's too bad, part of me wanted to make a pilgrimage there to see what was left of "the farm". Eventually, it will be unrecognizable.
Taken from the video description above: Video from an August 1998 visit to Quick Hill in Round Rock, Texas, the site of the house and property used in the filming of 1974's horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is the last known video footage taken of the house before it was relocated later that month to Kingsland, Texas and converted in to a restaurant.
David Mazzini ~ 👍Yes! It was so creepy and seemed so real watching it back in 1974. The words on the screen at the beginning of the movie made it seem even more factual. 😳🤣
It was falling into disrepair and vandalism by some tourists. The last of the family had moved out in '97 and the county road was re-routed around the hill, so access became more troublesome. At least now it is well preserved in the tiny hill country town of Kingsland. The original site in Round Rock is partially transformed into a big retail space. I live about two exits south of this location and I visit with friends every now and again. It's not the same. It's better off in Kingsland.
You know that movie is a work of fiction right? It's loosely based off a real killer but most of the movie is made up (like the locations). The only thing they had to fear was maybe some crackheads getting high in that house lol

Well if you want people to look at it, you should do them the favor of making it watchable. I'm not here to be impressed, I hoped to actually be able to see something about the history of the place. 5 min of you walking down a road pointing at nothing is a waste of everyone's time. Firehosing the camera around like a spazz is not so watchable either. If you're gonna do this stuff, respect the viewers. This could have been good. Learn from it.
lmao dude is someone really fucking complaining about this video? THIS VIDEO? This might as well be the best video on TH-cam. Seriously man, you were given an entire fucking football field with this video and you still had the nerve to ask for another yard. Get real. Kelsey I wouldnt even respond. There's other TCM location visit videos on YT but this is by far the most epic. I enjoyed it immensely along with the 2nd part. I appreciate it as Im sure all real Chainsaw fans do as well. Good job bud, wish I could have been fortunate enough to visit the house in its original location. I envy you :) Take care
We Just missed it! We went after the house was gone! But we at night. I loved it! Even without the house. Seeing them walk down that dirt road brought back a fun night! Thanks for this video. =]
They have moved this house to Kingsland, Texas and it's now a Restaurant. Me and my sister are planning in taking a trip to eat there..I sure hope we get to see it. I watched the movie when I was a kid, and it was scary. It is really amazing the remodel of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house. I think I seen it in 1979. I was about three when it aired at the show. But it's a good thriller...
To me this is the last video document of the original TCM house. The restaurant that stands today has gone through too many changes, it's just a facade
Thank you for preserving and sharing this rare footage. Does anyone know when the iconic windmill came down? They should put one up next to the restaurant.

Amazing to see it then compared to how it looks now. And it's sad to see that there's nothing out there now. Even the road is disappearing. Theres a guy filming videos there now. I just watched one where he tried to find the location of the dry creek bed that Pam and Kirk wanted to swim in. It's frustrating as hell because there's nothing there anymore, no way to line up shots or anything.
We were out of balls before we got half way up the driveway. You can see how I was suffering the most from ball deficiencies because I was 50 ft behind James the whole way to the house. lol

So, I grew up in Round Rock in the 80s and early 90s. I can confirm the location and the fact that a family was living there when we tried to go to the house.
It's now restored and move to another place, they cut the house in few pieces, it's called "Grand Central Café" :) still located in Texas, kingsland :)
The terror that was created in this house will be remembered until the day man no longer exists on this planet. End of story.

Learn from it.
telebob It is what it is. Now, please go pester someone else.
lmao dude is someone really fucking complaining about this video? I envy you :) Take care
u rock Kelsey *****
The restaurant is in Kingsland Texas it's called the Grand Central Cafe , great food too
Headcheese
thats cool its very interesting to see old abandoned sets from old scary movies
Awesome vid guys, thanks for sharing.
Thanks man. We fight the TCM realists on a daily basis, never backing down.
To me this is the last video document of the original TCM house. The restaurant that stands today has gone through too many changes, it's just a facade
Brilliant video guys of the ORIGINAL 1974 Texas chainsaw massacre house and Rd. from the uk. 👊👊
It may just be a film location....BUT....it's a great horror film icon. Thanks for the tour!
This is awesome! Actually looks like you're in the movie
I was up on this property on July 18, 2001.
The house was gone but it was still an amazing experience.
Had it been developed on? Was it still desolate and creepy at the time?
Wait did they take the house down?
Oh well thats really cool to see it in its original form, thanks.
thanks! makes me want to watch it again.
Very well put.
Are you getting the game when it releases?!
Thank you for preserving and sharing this rare footage. Does anyone know when the iconic windmill came down? They should put one up next to the restaurant.
Video from an August 1998 visit to Quick Hill in Round Rock, Texas, the site of the house and property used in the filming of 1974's horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is the last known video footage taken of the house before it was relocated later that month to Kingsland, Texas and converted in to a restaurant.
My current job address is on Quick Hill Road...possibly directly where the house was. Love it!
Amazing , absolutely amazing
Surprisingly it is a astonishly beutiful house!
We were out of balls before we got half way up the driveway. You can see how I was suffering the most from ball deficiencies because I was 50 ft behind James the whole way to the house. lol
Thanks for watching our video.
That is so awesome thanks for sharing, I know that they moved the house and turned into some kind of diner but to actually see it in its original location. Wow.
he passed in 2013, but you could donate to the research of the cancer he died from as thank you for him making this video, so others don't have to suffer it
Probably the last vid of chainsaw movie history right here.. the house at the original location amazing watching this nine years after!
Wow! amazing video!
THATS AWSOME!! RAW FOOTAGE AND CAN TELL THIS WAS A WHILE BACK BY THE FOOTAGE A THE WAY THERE DRESSED. I WOULD OF LOVED IT TO SEE IT LIKE THIS TOO BEFORE IT GOT MOVED. THANKS FOR SHARING GUYS.
I live in RR and that house was where it was filmed. Happened in Wisconsin
House was in my back yard pretty much
+Ben G yep mine too just across McNeil from me
PRICELESS FOOTAGE!!!!!
Old but timeless. Gotta love 'em.
So, I grew up in Round Rock in the 80s and early 90s. I can confirm the location and the fact that a family was living there when we tried to go to the house.
GREAT VIDEO MAN ENJOYED
Damn why am I just seeing this now. I hope that house is somehow protected. Wonder if it's still there today. It's a piece of film history.
It's now restored and move to another place, they cut the house in few pieces, it's called "Grand Central Café" :) still located in Texas, kingsland :)
@@maxaazerty nice, that's great to hear. Appreciate the info!
It’s next to Antlers Inn and is called „Hoopers“ today apparently
