I worked in a bar in 2003-4, in London serving drinks to wealty business types, I adored Dior Addict, each time I would wore this My tips at the end of the shift were double that of shifts wearing any Chanel perfume.
Thats super hot! Did you check out my Dior POISON Girl review? I mention in that review that Dior fragrances in general are more suited for party life/ bars and smoked up rooms ;) CHANEL does not stand a chance against the Dior slut ;) hehe! I love addict!!! xoxo
Omg you are so right!! But for some reason all the girls around me all were in love with J'dore. I wanted to purchase Fahrenheit for my boyfriend, the Dior sales assistant said I should never go out on a date with a boy that likes Fahrenheit (me addict) it wouldnt work out because both have strong confident personalities and we would clash.

I would agree that it is a fragrance that requires a lot of character because it is a very complex fragrance but I would not say that two strong personalities would necessarily clash ;) I like a good strong challenge! It spices things up for sure. haha. Also, I have quite a few female friends that love to wear Fahrenheit themselves! Yummy!
Maybe addict gave you a certain confidence that no other perfumes have ? It’s a sexy scent and it’s deep and beautiful with attitude , it clearly got you noticed in a good way :)

Hmmm lol i love the 2012 version more than the 2014, at least its stronger and honestly smoother. The 2014 smells phenomenal but it's really water with few drops of Addict
I sampled Dior Addict about two weeks ago and fell in love with this bewitching brew. I did some research on it when I got home and I was so shocked at the notes of the 2002 version and current version. I find it unfair that Demachy has his name attached to this perfume when the newest version contains four notes that were included in the 2002 version by Thierry Wasser. I also highly agree that it smells like it has far more than four notes in it. Strange.
Yes, the new version has way more than just four notes but for some reason Dior does not wish to share them with us ;) xoxo
I have a Dior Addict I bought in 2009, I guess it’s vintage, dont know. But I love it, it’s awesome smelling on me. Its so delicious I cant stop smelling it. I wish I’d purchased more bottles now. I don’t wear it much coz I’m afraid to use it all up. oh my goodness it’s soooo yummy

Dior have erased their history with reformulation ! Nothing smells the same anymore ! Try vintage Miss Dior or Diorella compared to the modern version and there are no comparisons . Miss Dior Cherie , the original version , was completely reformulated into a different fragrance with the same name ! Now I understand sometimes with ingredient restrictions reformulations are necessary but at least be respectful to your heritage .
Thierry Wasser is doing everything he can at Guerlain to maintain integrity ( as best as he can ) and has won awards for managing to reformulate within IFRA guidelines or restrictions , however you look at it !

Dior always manages to piss me off. This was my fragrance in the early 2000s, when I was a young, bold, hard-working, non-minimalist corporate woman. I smelled it at Sephora one week ago just to find out it had been reformulated. They could have called it a different name, and nobody would have noticed.
I thought there was something wrong with the olfactory memories in my brain, but now I know for sure that I will need your nose for a double check in the future, so I'm officially a new subscriber from Italy!
I'm going to see if I can find a review for Dolce & Gabbana The One edp for women in your channel. Everybody says it's fantastic, but to me it smells like cat urine plus something rotten (just sniffing the bottle)... c u
Thank you for subscribing to my channnel dear :) Welcome to the fashion bunker :) As for Dior ADDICT... are you sure you smelled the newest reformulation? There are several out there but the newest one is actually quite close to the original even if a bit simpler but the drydown is heavenly! The 2012 reformulation is really bad though! Then you need to be sure you are testing the eau de parfum and not the eau de toilette of ADDICT because to my nose only the eau de parfum is delicious.... As for DOLCE & GABBANA's THE ONE... To me too this fragrance does not smell good. I do not like it. In general I do not like too much the fragrances DOLCE & GABBANA made after the nineties... and especially I hate their reformulations since they switched from their italian fragrance manufacturer: "EURITALIA" (back then all their fragrances were made in Italy) and went to Procter & Gamble... Their fragrances are now made in the UK and in Germany... Awful quality! Such a shame! But there is still hope since DOLCE & GABBANA recently changed their partners again and are now working together with SHISEIDO as their worldwide distributor of their fragrances and cosmetics! This is great news since there is hope that SHISEIDO will start making DOLCE & GABBANA's fragrances in France!!! The distribution began this past October, 2016 so there are still no "made in France" bottles on the market but they will soon be availble! I hope that then DOLCE & GABBANA fragrances will finally smell amazing again! Fingers crossed! xoxo

Even the bottle was SO depressing as compared to the one from the GOLDEN days. Me and silver can go our separate ways. The teenager in me doesn't understand the lack of gold and neon colors and spandex in this world. Maybe the Juicy Couture fragrance line has permanently compromised my nose and my ability to appreciate different scents. Again thanks for your extensive reply. Thumbs up!

I have to say I got a sample of this last week to try at home , and I am ordering the full size. I am literally addicted to Addict. hence the name. There is nothing like it, long lasting, exactly what I was looking for. I love 💞 it Thank you for your review 😊 it was very helpful .

Omg how much I agree with everything you said it sucks all these reformulation and discontinued fragrances especially Dior WTF are they thinking of...to me it's highly disregard and disrespect to their customers ...my absolute favorite was and is Midnight poison dior..This one has a very high quality sandalwood oily vanilla extract to it somewhat sweet but yet dry it definitely changes on your skin nothing like the 2002 Thierry Wasser blackberry down with sandalwood cereus vanilla Omg delicious! U go boy thanks!
As I sit in front of my PC, I have 6 different bottles of this perfume beside me, from 3 different years of production. The reason is, that it's discontinued in my country, as for now it is still available in limited quantities in some bigger department stores. I do not know if the discontinuation of this masterpiece is worldwide, but I just couldn't take any chances :D I really don't hope that's the case though. If anyone has some information, that would be great! P.S. Really nice review, as always, Dacob. Lots of love from Denmark :)

I have the older bottle designs in eau delice which I think are quietly and good! Maybe due to wear and tear they phased that design out? New Dior addict formulation and old are really gorgeous.. I wish they would still make older formulations available though, alas!
I trust your opinions and your insight. I am a huge vanilla lover, which I did not use to be... I love the borderline simplicity of this fragrance. On me it is a vanilla on steroids, something that I would have enjoyed Mon Guerlain or Mon Guerlain Intense to be in their own way...

Love your sarcasm LOL I used to own 2002 Dior Addict and I simply adored it, I did feel addicted and intoxicated by it right from the top, that green leafy sandalwoody start was really delicious to me, and when I sniffed 2012 version my impression was just that the fragrance was watered down and more bland, but when it comes to 2012 version, I got impressed, it felt like I was smelling my old good version. I still have to test it better, though.

Yeah haha sorry, I typed it wrong, gonna edit it now. 2012 formulation seemed a bit weak to my taste, but 2014 version did smelled way better.
I had my SA make me a sample of this and could not get this out of my head,I love how,on me,it changes like a chameleon ,and I love blue too,love this review,I find the magnificence of it comes out after an hour and even more so after a few hours.
It has lasted hours and even 12/15 hours later you get reminded helloooo I'm here...love this

+Stanleydragonjr I don't unfortunately get so much lasting time out of it but still... the short time I get I LOOOVE :) but again.. the opening is a bit too green and a bit chemical on me but after 30 min. tops I am addicted all over again :) haha! xoxo

+Daniel Hammond Thanks! And the only reason why the Dior reformulated perfumes get a more analytical review from me is because the reformulations do not allow my emotions to take over... My CHANEL reviews are real trips in realms of transcendental emotions... I wish Dior's perfumes would allow me that as well... but somehow they keep blocking me off since I have the precise memory of what they used to smell like and now I always feel a bit tricked... no matter how good the reformulations might be, I still feel they are a different perfume... so whenever I say Dior addict, I think its a different perfume really... xoxo
Marvellous review as always! It's actually great to see that Dior's reformulations are actually improvements to the horrid 2012 watered-down tragedies. Just curious, though, what nationality are you? I can't figure out whether you're Italian, Spanish or something else entirely.
+Alcoholic Nun Well... the 2014 reformulation is by no means better than the original 2012 release and some will definitely say that the 2014 does not even closely meet their expectations but to me its OK al lin all... I like the soft sweetness slowly emanating from its heart. It stays close to the skin though after one hour... xoxo
I loved your review, Dacob, of this fragrance. I didn't get a chance to smell the 2012 version but the 2014 isn't bad on my skin. I do get that medicinal harsh scent at the beginning but after that it becomes fantastic. I know you're going to duty free tomorrow, as you stated in your video, and I would like to make a recommendation.
If you see Dark Rebel by John Varvatos or Elixir des Merveilles by Hermes, give them a sniff. I'm in love with them right now. They're on the masculine side, but maybe they will to quote the Berlin song, "Take your breath away" haha. In case you don't see them i'll just tell you that Dark Rebel is sugar cane, rum, leather, tobacco, fir resin, and castoreum. Elixir des Merveilles is peru balsam, patchouli, orange, caramel, incense, oak, cedar, tonka bean, and sandalwood. Thought maybe the notes would catch your beautiful eyes. Watered down yes! I accused the reseller on Amazon of doctoring the bottle I bought. Where can I find the wonderful fragrance I was expecting? I never get the remark anymore: "What is that perfume you are wearing? Wonderful, etc." for this 2014 product.
Brilliant review. I used to wear this exclusively around 2002-03 when it was popular, then I moved on to MAC MV2 because I wanted a signature scent that no one could name (I'm very secretive about my perfumes LOL). I bought a bottle yesterday because I was feeling nostalgic... it just doesn't have the same "something" about it that I was in love with all those years ago, I couldn't put my finger on it, I thought it was because my tastes have changed and I'm 15 years older but I'm glad I watched your video. It makes sense now. I still love it, and I'm excited to wear it again. Thank you for the excellent review
Fabulous review Thankyou Dacob! I’m actually thinking of buying a 35ml of this. A friend bought me a bottle for my 30th birthday (2003) and for some reason I suddenly miss it! The original one I had was a beast… possibly a bit too much at times so I will be interested to see how it works on me now as a reformulated version and it will also be a cute addition to my collection xxxx

I am giving this formulation a test run today. I have never tried any of the other formulations. Oh my, it's a beast of a fragrance. I am glad I sprayed it well before I am leaving the house. Very pleasant on my skin, although I never got the citrus and green notes. I did spray a small amount on my clothing and there I am better perceiving the opening notes. I was very surprised when I looked up the notes as well, it seems there is much more going on. I guess I am glad I missed out on the 2012 edition. I can't stop smelling my wrist and clothing and making the comparisons. I have the feeling this one will still be teasing me into tomorrow morning. Keep up the shade, one day the right someone will hear you!!xoxo
Thank you Debbie :) Yes, the drydown on this oneis incredible! The more you smell it and the more "addicted" you get ;) The midnight cereus really pops out ot me after a while! YOu think its vanilla but you sense that something is different and in fact its not vanilla... its a wonderful shy cereus popping through from inside the vanilla and it gets me every time! So magical... oh dear... here I go... now I need to spray it immediately!!! Off I go to wear my addiction with pride ;)
Yay! Super D and I will be scented the same today! After I made this comment, I checked out Sephora online, and I think they may have already reformulated it again. The bottle being shown says in gold lettering on the cap "Dior Addict". Sigh....
they might have an older version... let me check on the Dior website... OK so the sephora photo is either an old stock photo of the first and second versions of addict or they still sell the older version of addict or (and this would be bad of them), they sell the new version of addict but show the older version photo which indeed can cause a lot of disappointment with customers that know what they want... but yeah.. The Dior websites shows the bottle that I show in my video. So that is the design of the latest version od addict ;) xoxo

I am 32 year old hetero male, and my favourite perfume is Dior Addict Eau Sensuelle , 2012. It has to be women's sensual summer fragrance. What's more, it has got negative comments on Fragrantica. However, I can't help but wearing and loving it. Especially in summer, I don't feel any kind of feminine vibe, but in opposite, and people around love it. Soft, airy, yet animalic chypre. People write it smells like shower gel, but forever my hidden gem it will be. P. S. Neither of Addict line gives me the same feeling
I have and love the 2014 reformulation. My cousin had the 2002 version back in the day and it smelt beautiful on her but on me it had a halitosis note that I couldn’t get past. So I’m happy with the reformulation. Lol. I actually want to shower and put it on right now. And I love to wear this when my husband wears Fahrenheit.

in my opinion 2012 is better formulation than 2014, 2012 more vanilla more creamy and smooth , 2014 more watered down, sharper, and more floral.
I can't smell much of anything for the first hour of wear with this fragrance then, when I'm no longer waiting and doing other things suddenly I can smell the vanilla really strong and it last for hours. So glad that I know this is the normal progression of the fragrance. I got mine from Sephora. If I didn't and this is how it behaved from the first spray I would think I got a fake.
Every company reformulates sooner or later, it's frustrating and sad, but always tragic when they have their new in-house perfumer add his/her own twist to a classic. I can't stand Demachy's work, I've not found a single creation of his that I like, nor do I understand why Dior holds onto him, oh wait yes I do....he's able to pump out a ton of new scents that sell big but at the expense of quality & ingenuity. This is a frustrating hobby for sure, and we can't blame IFRA for this entire mess...

As somebody who always was fan of Angel and Angel-like perfumes, after wearing Shalimar for about a year, all I can say is.. Dior Addict is my next bigger than life perfume.
It’s classy, muscular and eternal perfume, after sweating, Addict keeps that sterile smell..

This is close to Dior Addict eau Fraiche 2004. Which is discontinued and also my favorite.
my mom has a queen of the night when i was a teen. It does bloom one flower once a year. I tried to wait for it to bloom once but i just could not get a proper timing missing the bloom two yrs in a row lol i gave up

Hi Dacob - thank you for posting this. I ADORE your perfume reviews and I look forward to many more (hopefully you do too:))! Regarding your plan to purchase the current YSL Opium EDP, I say yay! I love and respect the original release but can't really wear it comfortably (IT weàrs me!). However, the current formulation is amazing and it wears beautifully on me. It still has the same expertly blended notes and sophisticated-opulent character, but it's less dense, and doesn't have the cloying vibe that the original version had (to me). I'm writing also to say that I hope you will try the EDT if you haven't yet. It's quite different from the EDP (look online for reviews). I prefer the EDT as it seems to have some orange blossom and spices that round it out and add another layer. The EDP seems a bit less rounded. Anyway, both EDT and EDP are gorgeous! I hope you'll do a review if you purchase one of them!! Enjoy😀

Dacob I had to tell you that today I was at Macy's and I decided to try the EDP version of Opium again. Well upon this second try, I've concluded that its just as good as the EDT, but different from it. So, I bought a bottle of it he EDP so that I can enjoy both versions of Opium as the mood for one or the other hits.
Thats the perfect way to go! I agree with you completely on that! I often buy different concentrations of perfumes so that I can go with the mood of the moment :) Congratulations on your new Opium dear! I can't wait to get my hands on them as well soon :) xoxo
reformulations ruin everything that's why i spray chanel no 5 and it's completely gone in 30 minutes. Very sad
+Henry Pacheco True! The N°5 EDP lasts very short time on me too... but the pure parfum lasts for hours!!! Thats the only concentration that is worthy of the N°5 name! xoox

Money and power that get in the way of the best ...is anything the best anymore? Quality of everything, handbags, perfumes, food, air, water... the world is heading in a sour direction. As for the review... wonderful! i am so thankful I have that 2002 version you talked about. The bottle even looks better as you said, and i love how it sprays from the gold knob. and that gold against the deep translucent blue. really why would one change that? I have to say, mine does smell more concentrated but in a slightly sweeter and thicker way. and i love it more. it is as if it aged with me these passed years and became a more comfortable and classier version... CHANEL.. ok so i had my crazy moment and text the SA i deal with in Las Vegas, and she sent me a few pics of the long necklaces. and I am torn. i need your insight. i like it when the pearls are spaced out. the classic spaced out one is in silver. i guess she does not have it in gold...but do they come in gold too? and then the gold one is full pearls. with two cc's anyways i can send you the pics. but what do you think of the classic long pearl necklace in silver? i don't know if this makes sense so i can always send the two kinds in pics....but i just don't know how varied the classic style is.... with the pearl i want it to be classic piece. thanks for listening and take care love!

i don't get why midnight poison was discontinued. there were several allergenic ingredients there and ingredients that got banned years after it was released but they should've continued with some reformulations at least. i feel like the poison range is neglected by dior
Hello Dacob - I am enjoying your reviews. The night blooming cereus flower was in the 2012 reform. not the 2014. Jasmine sambac is the mid-note on this formula. However, on many department store websites they still list the 2012 notes which is quite misleading. For me this formulation is extremely green. I get a sense of the vanilla in the background but it screeches with green up front. I still like it but would love to get my hands on the 2002 or 2012 for comparison.
Hi Deborah. Despite what many perfume review websites list, and despite what Dior's website lists, the cereus is still there. Nobody believes the limited and extremly shortened listed ingredients given by Dior for their 2014 reformulation. You can smell the cereus in the fragrance. I trust my nose ;) The 2012 is a washed out version... again, to my nose. But of course everybody can believe what they wish. xoxo

Does anybody know what color dior addict EDP juice perfume is? I bought 10ml version of this perfume twice from two different online store that sell share in bottle perfume but the juice color between them was quite different... one is greyish color and the other one dark orangey color. can’t tell which one is fake and wich one is the original. Someone pls help😞
can you make a review of "jean patou joy"? it is a perfume that has not been changed since 1930 or so when it was released. i think that would be interesting ;).. in regards to this video may i just say i love your videos and i feed on them... lovely personality !!!

I think when perfume houses reformulate a perfume I think they spoil it for life the dior addict 2014 reformulation is ok i dont like the mandarin leaf in the top notes but when it starts to soften and the lower notes start to appear and the vanilla start to show itself its smells a lot nicer and is more appealing but I luv black opium hypnotic poison the original and black opium nuit blanche

Alfred TV its marketed towards woman. And I do see it as a woman’s fragrance. I cans see a man wearing this but people can wear whatever pleases them. Back in ancient times Roman soldiers use to bathe is roses and that’s far from masculine to me in these times.

I was smelling some old perfumes and I wanted to know if u could make a video telling us what is perfumes that you Hate I know you are all about love dacob but I was smelling some old perfumes that I have around the house and some of them make me fell like I want to die of how awful they smell to me like salvador dali pour homme just pure piss, dior farenheit oil and rubber, versace dreamer just synthetic mess, fcuk for him pure chemical detergent and karl lagerfeld for him trash what are yours dacob?

But there are some perfumes that I don't lake or even hate but I can see its beauty the idea behid it its complexity and how beautiful the creation is but there are some that seem to be the perfumers trying to sell you something disgusting like the ones I said in the comment to see if people will by it while they are laughiing with their money.
