I'm a trombonist, and I think this is one of the greatest applicants of my instrument in media lol. And yes, Debussy is a prestigious classical composer.
I've watched this stream three times, and saw a bunch of other people play this game, and I just now realised the reason the mouse is inverted by default: because pulling the slide towards you raises the pitch when you play an actual trombone. These absolute madlads
This brings back amazing memories from middle and high school. My band teacher always said "if you're not lightheaded after playing you're not playing loud enough" and from then on I nearly passed out at every football and basketball game. If songs are added in the future I'd love to see Ray play again
Can't wait until we get to the Twitch theme song segment. I am surprised they talked to the devs and slipped it in there as a gift to their beloved streamers!
As someone who played the trombone all the way from middle school through college, I can confirm the lore in this game is what is told to every new trombone player when they start playing.
Watching this whilst recovering from a nasty cough was the most entertaining mistake of my life. Nearly hacked up a lung but it was worth it for the goofiness of the game and Ray hitting that perfect balance of being just good enough to make it interesting, and just bad enough to make it hilarious.
As a residential Canadian I feel like Ray has represented Canada amazingly by getting an S rank on o Canada much love from your northern neighbors ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm sure this is a one off but if there's more songs and Ray enjoys playing this, I'd absolutely love another segment. Ray missing notes and the general tone of the game make for funny moments.
As a university level tromboner, Ray, just through this game, is better at the trombone than most people I played with in high school... Oh, and "muted" means you put a mute in your instrument. It's a closed funnel inside the horn that deafens the sound
I was a percussionist in high school, but still observed what the other instruments had to play with... it hurt me a little bit when he couldn't tell the difference. The barely off-tune notes were so friggin' accurate to real life high school band it hurt and were hilarious.
After every trombone sesh, I always keep in mind what that one guy from Family Guy said as I’m wrapping up. “Always finish on the Bach, never finish on Debussy.”
As a former trombonist, I feel Ray’s pain on his arm moving back and forth between the 1st-7th positions Overall this feels like a legit trombone game, I’m impressed
When Ray said this was a a meme game, I severely underestimated just how much of a meme it would be. That being said, I must now find someone of sufficient skill in Osu or similar who also played this
dunno if ray'll ever read this, but mute is this thing you put in brass instruments to give it a different sound. trumpet players sometimes quickly alternate between mute and no mute to give their music a kind of glissando

I did NOT think I was gonna watch this whole video; but uh... I did! Thanks for the grade S entertainment, my man. You never cease to amaze with your comedic potential
The scales at the beginning brought me back to marching band in high school I and concert band in middle school. I love this and I wanna pick up playing again
The Pokemon streams really spoil me because i try to see chats reaction to everything and i be like "oh yeah, no chat" and i even try to tap right on the screen but then it just skips 10 seconds and i be like "dumbass!" Thanks for the content Ray!
i'm (almost) embarrassed at how many times ive watched this it's been scratching all of the itchies in my brain; i like to listen to music while i work, but i also like to listen to game commentary, but the game commentary has to be funny or interesting. this checked off all those boxes. love u ray
Ray got an A rank on Beethoven's masterpiece because Beethoven thought Ray did a fantastic job playing his instrument. He moved the slide and everything on the trombone.
I’m an idiot, I had no idea “My Country Tis of Thee” and “God Save the King” were the same notes lmao. What a quintessentially American thing to do, we’re such assholes lol.
That’s it… this is the best game ever. I’ve never laughed so hard at a game this hard that’s intended to be funny and not take itself seriously. I absolutely love it.
I don't know if Ray ever figured it out, but the Old Gray Mare song is the base for: "Great green globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts, Mutilated monkey meat. Dirty little birdie feet. Great green globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts, And me without my spoon!" I remember it from Honey We Shrunk Ourselves, it was also featured in Caddyshack and other pop culture, as well as it being a decently common playground song.
I had to play Entry of the Gladiators for my first chair recital in senior year high school band lmfao. But yes, a lot of these songs are common songs trombonists play. I have PTSD having to play Stars and Stripes Forever in marching band during memorial day parades.
If I had to guess, the mouse is probably inverted by default to simulate playing the instrument. On screen, higher notes appear higher on the screen, that makes sense. On a trombone, to make higher notes yu pull the slide toward yourself.
1:01:04 It took me a minute to remember but Spongebob definitely sang this in an early episode. I was mentally wondering "who the hell was saying Dun Dun Duuuuun~ in this song's melody along with the actual song? Oh yeah that was Spongebob."
For those not musically initiated, a muted instrument in simple terms is essentially just putting something to block part of the place where the sound comes out and it makes it sound muted and funny. There's more to it but that's the easy answer lol.
So I remember Ol' Grey Mare from the Simpsons, don't know the episode but it's one of the guys from the nursing home singing it and then I remember another that is from Nintendogs but in that game it was called the Flower Waltz.
I like how on DeBussy's card (30:33) there's red letters that spell out "Hot dogs" Edit: Damn thought I was a genius for figuring that out, but Ray points it out at the end of the video, so now I'm broke AND stupid, the worst combination since Beans on Toast
I'm a trombonist, and I think this is one of the greatest applicants of my instrument in media lol. And yes, Debussy is a prestigious classical composer.
notice the red letters on his card spelt out "hot dogs"
Actual real trombone players are called tromboners /j
Ray acting like all these words and memes coming out in the past 2 years have been around since the dawn of time XD
Sussy Debussy
was listening to clair de lune just before watching this
Watching Ray discover famous musicians and composers and lose it at their names is the best thing ever omg
Ray saying "simply beautiful" and then completely whiffing the very next note got me way too good.
In the years and years I've been watching Ray's content, I don't think I've ever seen him focus so hard. Trombonering is serious business.
Trombonering lol
I've watched this stream three times, and saw a bunch of other people play this game, and I just now realised the reason the mouse is inverted by default:

There is also "you sound like shit"... I got put in a corner and was told to be loud but make it sound good
I love his look of intense concentration on his face in the hard fast songs.
Gael truly outdid herself with the thumbnail 😂
omg the thumbnail looks hella good, I was not expecting the thumbnail for this vod would look funny but also great at the same time lol
Thank you so much! ❤

As someone who played the trombone all the way from middle school through college, I can confirm the lore in this game is what is told to every new trombone player when they start playing.
We're also taught to move the slide..... 🤣
Watching this whilst recovering from a nasty cough was the most entertaining mistake of my life. Nearly hacked up a lung but it was worth it for the goofiness of the game and Ray hitting that perfect balance of being just good enough to make it interesting, and just bad enough to make it hilarious.

*Casually sips icecap* Indeed
HELL YEAH
47:08 Please rise for Twitch's National Anthem
I died when he started goin off!
Twitter's theme song too
As a former trombonist, this brings back some memories...
Edit: Stars and Stripes Forever brings back nightmares
Good memories right?
@@AbbyRawks Some good, some bad. But mostly good.
hahah
Sousa went full sicko mode on this song. The flute part is so cursed and will haunt me forever
clarinet player and hard agree on stars & stripes
The airhorns firing admist Hava Nagila has spiritually transported me to almost every bar mitzvah I've ever been to.

This video was absolutely so good. The "sad" or "off" notes from the trombone never made me laugh so much in my life. Amazing video Ray.
After every trombone sesh, I always keep in mind what that one guy from Family Guy said as I’m wrapping up.
“Always finish on the Bach, never finish on Debussy.”
7:49 Shout out to all the Canadian homies watching

Can't believe I spent time watching Ray play royalty free music on a virtual trombone, but here I am.
When Ray said this was a a meme game, I severely underestimated just how much of a meme it would be. That being said, I must now find someone of sufficient skill in Osu or similar who also played this
The 8 bit song sounded like he was strangling an otomatone to death

As a Canadian, after you played our anthem, a hockey game broke out in my living room, so thanks for that, they left a mess.
I majored in music for 3 years and have been playing flute for 14. This is the greatest video Ray has put out in YEARS
Rumor has it the rusty trombone is Ray’s favorite instrument to play
Also, toot toot
As a former tromboner, I completely identify with "finally my noghtmare is over"
In the last 2 months this has become my comfort video, doesn't matter how many times I watch it, it always gets me laughing.
Laughed so hard at the English breakfast I nearly woke my son up. Thank you Ray 🇬🇧
God Save the King right after Oh Canada immediately made me think of Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen a la Ren & Stimpy
Fun fact, Debussy’s lore card has “hot dogs” written in red
I did NOT think I was gonna watch this whole video; but uh... I did! Thanks for the grade S entertainment, my man. You never cease to amaze with your comedic potential
The scales at the beginning brought me back to marching band in high school I and concert band in middle school. I love this and I wanna pick up playing again
Ray discovering famous classical composers and taking the absolute piss outta their names is the highlight for me xD
love rhythm games, love trombones. fifteen minutes in and this is the hardest i’ve laughed in ages. i’m so happy
Never have i played a game that threw me back to 6th grade band class. This is a gem
This was a very entertaining video, way more fun than I expected anything involving trombones could be!
The 8-bit sound while doing "take me out to the ball game" was killing me! Especially the way Ray described it!
As a band geek that played trombone in high school and college, I couldn't stop laughing at the music! This is both funny and nostalgic!
yes!!!
The Pokemon streams really spoil me because i try to see chats reaction to everything and i be like "oh yeah, no chat" and i even try to tap right on the screen but then it just skips 10 seconds and i be like "dumbass!"
Thanks for the content Ray!
I’m glad I’m not the only person, but yeah the Pokemon streams have spoiled me I really do love seeing chats reaction during the stream
I watch pretty much everything Ray/Tina/mods post to TH-cam and this is the hardest I’ve laughed at a stream in a long time
i'm (almost) embarrassed at how many times ive watched this
it's been scratching all of the itchies in my brain; i like to listen to music while i work, but i also like to listen to game commentary, but the game commentary has to be funny or interesting. this checked off all those boxes.

I love hearing rays thoughts during the clown music section
Hey, Gael got the thumbnail out! What a gigachad!
FeelsStrongMan I was there for the beginning of the popularity of this game, Thanks Lirik and my wishlist from 2020 September 21
That’s it… this is the best game ever. I’ve never laughed so hard at a game this hard that’s intended to be funny and not take itself seriously. I absolutely love it.
Amazing thumbnail! You capture Ray trying to play a trombone, while shitting himself, and trying not to laugh. All at the same time!
I don't know if Ray ever figured it out, but the Old Gray Mare song is the base for:
"Great green globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat.
Dirty little birdie feet.
Great green globs of greasy, grimy gopher guts,
And me without my spoon!"
I remember it from Honey We Shrunk Ourselves, it was also featured in Caddyshack and other pop culture, as well as it being a decently common playground song.
18:28 The pug in the baboon song had me questioning if I really saw it or not
The RIP tombstone save icon on the bottom left corner after God Save the King 😂😂😂 Too soon Trombone Champ, too soon
That Mozart trap mix slapped way harder than it should've
Wow they made that thumbnail fast. Looks great!
If Old Gray Mare sounds familiar, you may have been taught "I'm in the Lord's Army" as a child.
One of the greatest thumbnails for an equally great video.
as someone who really likes rhythm games you have unironically caught my attention
I love how even though this is a meme game it actually has some bangers in it (and that Ray got real focused in spots lol)
"we all know the real national anthem of the united states is Every Time We Touch by Cascada" damn ray, don't give away the secret anthem like that
Haven't watch you since AH. This got recommended and it was nice watching you again.
I had to play Entry of the Gladiators for my first chair recital in senior year high school band lmfao. But yes, a lot of these songs are common songs trombonists play. I have PTSD having to play Stars and Stripes Forever in marching band during memorial day parades.
I don’t know what’s more upsetting, this game or the fact that Ray is genuinely pretty good at it
I can’t believe they perfectly recreated me after having Taco Bell for the 38th time this week
I want to know why "hotdogs" was lit up on Debussy's card.
can we get another playthrough with Ray playing trombone while Tina sings the lyrics?
If I had to guess, the mouse is probably inverted by default to simulate playing the instrument. On screen, higher notes appear higher on the screen, that makes sense. On a trombone, to make higher notes yu pull the slide toward yourself.
"My nightmare is over. Woo." Dammit, now I have to buy it.
All my middle school band memories just came flooding back in 😂😂
I cannot believe a video game managed to capture the inherent anxiety of an instrument player with the gameplay. Perfection.
My band played Stars and Stripes my junior year and when I say the trombones had it rough I mean it. I was so happy to be a woodwind
Being musically inclined and seeing someone who isn't slowly realise the absurdity of everything is making my night lmao
Remember Ray. Finish on the Bach, and never finish on Debussy
Jeez man during the Stars and Stripes I was fucking crying, so ridiculous 😂
after this performance i would kill a man to see ray play old rhythm heaven
1:26:01 Was still one of my favorite parts.
"I got it, let's get naked!-Patric Star"

This game is like when you take a shitpost too far and now you gotta commit to the bit. Absolutely glorious stuff
1:01:04 It took me a minute to remember but Spongebob definitely sang this in an early episode. I was mentally wondering "who the hell was saying Dun Dun Duuuuun~ in this song's melody along with the actual song? Oh yeah that was Spongebob."
O Canada brought a tear to my Canadian eye. Beautiful.
trombone champ teaches us that every song is better with air horn
13:20 TOOT TOOT
Me: **listening to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 for the first time** "YOU'RE TELLING ME A DOG COMPOSED THIS?!"
For those not musically initiated, a muted instrument in simple terms is essentially just putting something to block part of the place where the sound comes out and it makes it sound muted and funny. There's more to it but that's the easy answer lol.
I played a bunch of brass instruments for 7 or 8 years and I had to do it some times lol
ray and rhythm games = perfect combination
I love coming back to this playthrough 😂 with today's announcement, I'm actually surprised it wasnt already on the switch
Ray struggling during Stars And Stripes Forever gave me flashbacks to marching band
1:13:38 That sub alert was so well-timed with the beat of the song
You’re My Dad - Remix
The song at 1:00:00 . Was used in a baby Einstein video. With the puppets? And maybe ducks?
The bassoon maybe better than the trombone but the trumpet is the best!
Oh and glasses likes feet.
So I remember Ol' Grey Mare from the Simpsons, don't know the episode but it's one of the guys from the nursing home singing it and then I remember another that is from Nintendogs but in that game it was called the Flower Waltz.
The unicorn song follows the same tune as "I'm in the Lord's army" from Sunday school.
I like how on DeBussy's card (30:33) there's red letters that spell out "Hot dogs"
Edit: Damn thought I was a genius for figuring that out, but Ray points it out at the end of the video, so now I'm broke AND stupid, the worst combination since Beans on Toast
I lost myy shit by laughing so hard on one song i have no idea WHY i was crying laughing . it tickled me so bad my face hurts.
Ray discovering Debussy is amazing
Someone needs to put that on top of Elyse singing oh Canada
