You should do a bankruptcy video. A scenario where all of your mtg products lose most value. What would you do then? What would be the plan?
I have been wondering about this, too.
It will probably never happen but it would be cool to see how he would deal with it.
Well... If all his mtg goods loose value then there's no point in making mtg videos. It'd be just be fireplace paper at that point. He'd probably have to go back to work since I'm guessing a significant portion of his wealth is invested into mtg goods.
Most likely he has enough passive income. He won't go hungry or anything. As far as mtg goes remember that the reserved list will hold some value but it will be as collectibles. But i want to hear his perspective because i'm sure he would have something new to say.
He would find a field in the middle of nowhere and build a house out of boxes to live in.

Every time Rudy does one of these Iconic Masters box openings, the market price of Horizon Canopy falls like 30 cents.

5:28 Almost picked up the uncommon pile where the 3rd Horizon canopy was hiding after misplacing it at 3:50, but didn't go through with it. Remind me to buy bulk uncommons from Rudy. Hehe, he put an Aether Vial in the uncommon pile too at 10:13.

I'm sure you've already realized by now that there were actually two Horizon Canopy's and a foil one in that first box. Best box of Iconic Masters yet, crazy!

Anyone else noticed that the second to last box ended with: archangel of thune, thoughtseize, supreme verdict, serra ascendant, rampaging baloth, lotus cobra, spiritmonger and charmbreaker devils (in that order), and the box after that ended with the same rares/mythics IN THE SAME ORDER?

It's felt like it is the same few foil commons that have ink issues. I have a disenchant that was similarly smeared, and me and someone else opened a mana leak that were both smeared (from different boxes). I haven't seen it on any foil uncommons/rares/mythics.
John Avon is such a phenomenal artist. By far my favorite. He did the full art lands from Unstable, and the new Ancestral Vision art for Iconic Masters.
Big fan of John Avon too, but not so much a fan of Ancestral Visions... I prefer the original Time Sprial art

Rudy, this is super entertaining to watch, and I've been soooo tempted to buy a box of Iconic Masters for myself. but I realized something. Even at a severe discount as of 11/29, I could use the ~$150 on a box instead to buy myself my very first serious modern deck and do the thing I love doing more than cracking packs: Playing Magic. I appreciate all these unboxings, though, highly entertaining!

I got super lucky, opened a foil mana drain and a foil bloodghast in my iconic masters box.

I wonder how many more pallets of IM Rudy will buy? If they don't sell well, the distributors will be calling with more stock to liquidate, "Please Rudy, 40c on the dollar!" And Rudy will be all, "Sure, bring them on!" then make a cute deal for all his patrons and be laughing all the way to the bank. You're a good man Rudy and doing a damn good job.
So i was curious to see how much value is being pulled out of these boxes so i have decided to take a tally of all the cards of notable value (5$ and over for rares and mythics, and any lightning helixes/ baubles/dynamos) in the first box. Here is what i have come up with. Prices based on TCG player and are accurate as of the posting of this comment. Note that prices on ALL valuble cards in this set are in rapid decline so these values WILL change. If you want to know the value of the other boxes, feel free to tally those values up yourself, but this is all i have the patience for atm.

This was a blowout box, no doubt about it. This is the kind of box that you go into this hoping to get. Many many many will try, very very few will achieve this.

How many mana drains, consecrated sphinx, flusterstorm, grove of the burn, or elesh norrndo do you need in the current format? and the staples which are re-reprinted again, i suppose that they would go down in value too. Things as horizon canopy are good but it was so expensive that it will fall in price too. I don't see this set doing well in time, may be in the long long run...

Not going to lie the market in Canada is terrible, because of the american dollar. We have to pay aproximately 300$ for a box and the cards have less value here as well. Put into perspective minimum wage is 11.15 in my province. 1 pack of Iconic masters is 13.99 + 15% tax. So we we get a 25 cent bulk rare, it is very disapointing. Even kiki jiki in a pack is losing 5$.
When i buy a booster box, where the mythic cards should be is a little piece of paper with a laughing emogi.

I have a crackpot theory that Iconic Masters is deliberately flooded because Wizards wants to cheapen these sets and make them more widely available but fear mass price gouging akin to what happened with the original Modern Masters. Think about it - jack up the print run, offer better rates for cases, shave down the average price paid by about $2 USD, and you can start getting the product into the hands of people that wouldn't pay full MSRP for a Masters set. We already saw this with Modern Masters 3 booster boxes retailing for $50 USD less than MSRP at launch, and the reprints have *BRUTALIZED* certain cards' secondary prices such as Auriok Champion, something consistent with increased reprint availability. With boxes going for as low as $160 USD, and cases as low as $700 USD, everything about this, from the early sealed event to the erratic release date, feels engineered to stick it to the predatory side of the secondary market and give the market proper supply.
I've noticed in Rudy's videos that he rambles off numbers a lot. "I think I've opened 10, 15, 20 booster boxes..." For someone who has a financial background, Rudy seems to be incapable of keeping track of actual numbers. Still love it. I've watched 10 or 20 of your videos. Keep up the good work.

Is it me or is the left edge of the foils scuffed?
Opened 4 boxes and the vast majority of the foils were either washed out or the ink looked like it was bleeding. Luckily my foil mythic was...Channel, foil rares nothing special either :)
