11:25 i need advice on this exact situation, I have a 98 GS400 that blew a head gasket then the engine started to knock, I would love to know if its a good idea to lightly polish the crank and replace the rod bearings or is the 1UZ not a forgiving motor?
hello! I'm having trouble with an 1uzfe in an ls400. i checked the ecu, nothing blown, the timing belt was done, transmissions rebuilt. it stutters at 5k roughly and doesnt shift nice, and it just lacks power. i thought plugs and coils, but im just clueless. what should i check for? it throws no code, i checked the vacuum system.
Pretty sure toyota did it to confuse anyone pulling the engines down in the future. I really don't know why they gave so many options , maybe they did measure all the clearances carefully on assembly , as the engines do last very well. Cheers Kelvin
I like your videos coz they are learning me a lot
Glad you like them, cheers Kelvin
Well done ,kudos from California as always follow the factory procedure manuals. It sucks we cannot read Japanese. Thanks again for making it simple

Check accelerator pedal assembly is clean
@@DOCTRJ is in spec. i will check hc now to see how the fueling is
I would go through the normal diagnoses which includes checking ignition system , fuel system , running a check with the scan tool etc. Cheers Kelvin
