Ciara has recently tried to belt and show this "vocal capability" that she dont have. Part of being the better singer is knowing your strengths and playing to those. Janet, though not a singers singer in the slightest, has always had a really pretty, sweet voice easily has a better tone than Ci Ci. Aside from that, she also has the better ear. To not be a "vocalist" Janet has some incredible harmonies. There's so many background harmonies that be having me shook cause she don't do your standard octave unison harmony, she'll have some dissonant chord that somehow works.
I think you would really love watching the footage there is from when Nippy and Mariah recorded When You Believe. It's a 3+ minute video, it's really beautiful
Britney has some amazing ones for Blackout and Glory... I love the Toxic leaked version, too. Especially given her natural voice rather than the baby one she's famous for ^^ But thats just my opinion :D
