This time I have dedicated myself to another great film composer. Since I really like the "Avatar" soundtrack by James Horner (R. I. P.), I created this piano arrangement based on the track "Becoming One Of ''The People'' Becoming One With Neytiri".
In this video I have combined my live piano playing with the visualization of the music material by programming my own "Synthesia"-like software.

He's got some incredible control over his hands. The timing of his music is ALWAYS perfect.

Most people watching this don't even realise how incredibly hard this is. The technique is really difficult, especially when mastering this speed. Also there aren't many repeating parts, that's why even a skilled piano player will spend months practicing.
Oh thanks, I bought the sheets and I have lot of difficulties at some parts, especially at the end. I don't consider myself as a very good player but I'm not a novice neither... Thanks for clarifying the situation
So true. I am studying this by ear and then going to practice with sheet music. It is unbelievably hard but worth it to experience the beauty of the song. Happy playing for all who do!!!!

At middle ages, I've finally started piano lessons because I want to soar in the pure bliss one feels playing stuff like this. Avatar really is more than a movie, it's a masterpiece... and sadly I doubt any sequel can ever live up to the original. I don't think there's another movie that can pull you in like this one. There's one scene that perfectly describes experiencing this movie: "Everything is backwards now. Like out there is the true world, and in here is the dream."
Have you seen the new one tho? Another masterpiece IMO.

Its astonishing how u can literally hear from the score what the movie was all about, it the soothing and chill parts resembling the astounding world the humans went into, the majestic refrain, the unsettling midsection where everything kinda went wrong, its all there, how the f.. did James Horner make this up .. to this date one of the most mindblowing movie scores Ive heard, I liked the movie a lot too, can see why a lot of people didnt tho, but the soundtrack is just an outstanding masterpiece.
I'll learn to play this masterpiece no matter how many month it takes! 💜✊

@@KalebMorton if u have an electric keyboard with settings u can just lower the power of sustain and leave it on the whole time
I’m also new n a self-taught as well but i think it’s simpler to press the pedal in every measurement, or if you learn by watching it’s every time his left hand changing chords (or root-key if that make sense)

This soundtrack always gives me chills... And why it doesn’t seem to really match the Na’vi people (or at least at day or when they are moving), this music matches perfectly with the vast world and all it’s creatures. Each time I hear that main-main part of the theme, I can see an Ikran soaring around the floating mountains and I get chills every time.

I do not envy whoever gets the privilege stepping in for Horner on the Avatar sequels. They've got some remarkably big shoes to fill. Miss you, James. 💔
Seriously. It’s my only real concern about Avatar 2. Horner’s soundtrack was a huge part of Avatar. It’s going to be incredibly hard to live up to. That said, the music in the trailer is quite beautiful, and the new composer was working under Horner during Avatar…so maybe it will be good.

I think this is one of the first times I've ever commented on a Youtbube Video. The fact that he highlighted the louder parts on the right hand just blew me away. I've been playing piano with videos like these for years now and this helps an incredible amount for both sightreading and learning.

When Patrik first posted this video a lot of people assumed that it would be Avatar The Last Airbender. Suffice to say they were pissed and downvoted. Personally I think it is petty as heck.

While the score of this movie is an absolute masterpiece, James Horner was actually kind of an asshole with the music team. He wanted music that no one has ever heard before, music that is alien to the western culture, except he still wanted it somewhat western and turned down a lot of what the music team gave him. @@MinerDiner You got mixed up with James Horner and James Cameron there. Also, the problem with music that noone has ever heard is, we kind of 'learn' what music to like. So when you hear something you conceptually have never heard before, there is almost no way to instantly like it. You'd first have to learn what to appreciate about it.

i've listened to many other avatar covers, well... none of them make me to listen again but only this piece does. Don't know how many times I clicked this to start and finish my day. I like watching his hand dancing on the piano, so I always fix my eye on screen when I am listening.
