SO glad that the moonphase as a complication is returning to favour across the industry. I'm a fan of FC, and this is a great example of why. Quality from the in-house movement, through to the uncluttered silky dial. My only gripe with this (there had to be one, right?) is that onion crown. It doesn't look like it belongs, and just seems *fussy*.
I tried on a FC moonphase date (not this one ofc) yesterday with an onion crown. Personally, I really like the uniqueness of the onion crown and how easy it was to use compared to smaller crowns imo.
It looks beautiful and I think the dial furniture is very well judged. With that said why does it have to be thicker than a sporty diver like the BB54? Even the new BB58 GMT is only less than half a mil thicker.
I have both and it's not even close. The Longines is really difficult to read. Don't get me wrong. All the complication are super cool but I end up wearing the FC 3 time more than the Longines. Interestngly enough I was ready to buy the Glasutte Original Panomatic Moonphase for $11K until I saw an article in Watch Time for the FC. Both are great but for $7K I can almost pay for my next purchase which will be the Omega FOIS.
@@WparuSlowach honestly I’d just double up and get a jlc moonphase. The quality to price ratio should be exponential, but it is linear in this case. If you want a budget moonphase , get a longines.
Because the Longines designed their moonphase watch just to tick a box. This Frederique Constant is WAY nicer and more refined and frankly blows the unremarkable Longines out of the water.

Agreed
I nearly dropped my monocle when I heard "12+mm" and "thin" in the same sentence
Their slimline moonphase is 11.3. Their new moonphase is 12.5mm how this make sense?
Direct competition to the Longines Master Collection Moonphase
Nope. Finishing in FC is better.
I agree. This FC is a lot nicer than the Longines.

Nice model. But there are too many substitude goods in same price range. Reasonable price is also an important point for consumers
Luv FC
4k USD is still not cheap. FC seems to have lost value proposition on this one.
Find me equivalent of this caliber and finish in other competitor below 4K? You will not.

@@lihanou I would pick Farer Moonphase. One of the best under 2K.
@@lihanouif you want a JLC, better triple up, they’re $12K now (unless you get a used one obviously)

Too expensive. Why take this over a Longines?

The power reserve of the Frederique Constant watches is just embarrassing.
72 hour?……. Patek is 45 hours
Frederique Constant ? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. That’s funny .
