I'm in my seventies watching this for the very first time, right on the heels of Gentlemen Prefer Blonds - have not stopped laughing, or being dazzled by Marilyn, and the wonderful scripts. All prejudices fly out the window when you have fun like this in the movies, what people are missing today!
I saw some like it Hot with my parents when it first came out, I was around eleven years old! The Movie was at a drive in theater, as a kid I loved watching it! Best movie that M.M. did.
It’s like Marilyn is doing a Marilyn impression in this thing.. I watched ‘All About Eve’ the other day… and in one scene it was Anne Baxter,, Bette Davis,, George Sanders and some Unknown girl named Marylin Monroe.. Btw if you watch that Scene ,,Marylin plays Ms.Casswell a graduate of the Copacabana School of Dramatic Arts.., only has a couple stereotype lines but your eyes are drawn to her it’s incredible
yep. Picture this: I was 12 years old. This was the first "grown up " movie I ever watched. It was in a run down art cinema who had a Billy Wilder week. Lucky me. I fell totally in love. I forced my mother to go with me 3 times in the week Some like it hot was running to go there with me. " But don't you want to see another one" she said. Nope. This was the beguining. I was and am hooked. My father bought me a Marilyn Monroe poster. A couple of years there was a Monroe exhibition in Amsterdam. The main attraction was her dress from the Seven years itch" . I cried when I saw it. And so many years later I promised myself that I will go to her grave and tell her how important she has been to me.
This comment made me so happy! I was born in 2003 but I feel the exact same way. My father introduced me to this film as a young girl and I’ve loved it ever since. I’ve always adored Marilyn Monroe. Hope you’re well ❤
@@jessiedenney9248 yes I am. And it makes me happy to hear that people who are born in another century then I am feel the same way about this movie and this actrice and have the same feeling about it as I had. Bless you!
I think I was about eight years old and I saw this movie on television. She really had a strong effect on my young mind, in fact, I think that i remember running around thinking that I was Marilyn monroe for a couple of months.
@@jessiedenney9248 Fine , thanxxs. Hope you are too. Her other films are mesmerizing as well. She was and always will be the most magical one of all the moviestars. Greetings from the Netherland!
@@frankpeter6851 I am still a total Marilyn Monroe fan. For me she was THE moviestar. So many years later I still look at her movies, buy the books, watch the documentaries etc. She will always be with me.
