My wife and I are both over 6 foot, we just purchased the 3P Long version, judging by how durable it is, I’m hoping to enjoy our first trip in this tent soon! Cheers
Thanks man! That’s awesome you got it on sale. REI is Legit, you can basically rent it for a year if you wanted too lol. How much heavier is the long version?
Question...during a rainstorm, is there enough headroom to sit in the chairs inside the tent? Im guessing its too short for that. And how well do you llike those chairs? thinking about this tent and chairs for our motorcycle trips to camp overnight
Well I know I could fit under the awning and I am six foot…but I think it depends on your height. The inside of the tent is taller in the middle so you could probably use it if you used the fast fly option and just set up the rainfly and poles but that would be dependent on your height. The chairs in the video are great chairs. I am currently working on a review in which I look at and compare the different lightweight backpacking chair options on the market; that should be coming out soon. As far as the chairs in the video, I really like the Nemo moonlight chair that I used in the video. It’s a bit heavier than the REI and the Helinox chairs but I like that it reclines and that it has the pad for the feet that keeps it from sinking into the ground.
Well I love Nemo products because they offer a lifetime warranty. I haven’t used the dagger so I couldn’t tell you how it compares. But I have some other Nemo tents and love them! The big Agnus is a bit lighter but overall I like Nemo’s customer service; it seems like they respond better when you have issues. I contacted big agnus about fixing a hole in my tent rainfly and they told me that I would have to fix it myself or pay. Nemo usually just fixes it. Customer service is a big deal for me so Nemo definitely wins in that department. As far as specs they seem very similar, minus the ability to set up the awning. I think either way you would enjoy either tent. It just depends on what features are more important to you. They are both great brands, but like I said I haven’t used or tested the Dagger so it’s hard to say which one is better without actually trying both. Maybe comparing the two tents could be a future video for me. I hope that response helps and thanks for leaving a comment!
Well the fast fly setup is unique to each tent model but you might be able to MacGyver it if you get creative. I also found this info on the BA website: www.bigagnes.com/blogs/support/footprint-faqs Which footprint do I need for my tent? Each Big Agnes tent has a footprint that is specifically designed for it. The dedicated footprint will be a custom fit and have the buckles needed to set up the Fast Fly. The footprint will have the same name as your tent, and when a tent is re-designed or updated, the footprint will receive similar updates. This means a newer model footprint may not work with an older model tent of the same name, so if you plan to utilize the Fast Fly setup, make sure to select the proper footprint that matches your size and model tent. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Yeah with the vent open you still get condensation if you are using the tent in colder conditions. If you are a recreational summer hiker or biker it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I am also a mouth breather unfortunately so I don't think that helps lol. The condensation is not horrible by any means and there is enough space between the rainfly and the tent mesh that it really doesn't affect the gear inside your tent. I just wanted to bring it up because some people get bent out of shape about condensation.
Haha so after making this video we had a storm in Idaho. Long story short, I left it out after taking out my gear and taking out the tent stakes. I was planing on taking a few more shots so I stupidly left it out over night( during the unexpected wind storm) and the tent ended up flipping end over end all over my property. The rain fly had some minor damages after that but honestly the tent held up pretty well. I reached out to BA shortly after to see if they could help me out… and let’s just say I was impressed on how fast they responded but they basically told me I could buy a new rainfly or fix it myself. So I would say that there warranty is definitely not unconditional and that you should plan on paying for any damages that occur. I personally like companies that are willing to take care of you no matter what and I’m willing to pay more for that service if it’s available. Companies should always put their customers first but I think a lot of companies forget that as they grow or get bought out by larger companies. I hope that helps. Ultimately the incident was my fault but I always like when things like this happen because it can really help you decide who you will spend your money with on your next go around.

That’s awesome! Yeah it’s a great tent to add to your adventure tool kit! The tent is definitely durable!
Have fun on your trip!
Great video! I actually purchased the long version of this tent when it was on sale at REI. I love this tent.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking about buying this tent and this was really helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for another great tent review!
Thanks for watching!
great Review!
Thanks!
Great video! What are your thoughts on the nemo dagger in comparison? Does the Big Agnes come out on top? How is the durability over time

Can I use any footprint for fast fly set up or it has to be Big Agnes footprint?
Well the fast fly setup is unique to each tent model but you might be able to MacGyver it if you get creative.

Would you say that the condensation in this tent is a deal breaker?
No, it’s definitely noticeable but it has never affected my sleep. Honestly most tents will have some sort of condensation.
Is the condensation issue present with the vent open?

Would this tent be good for bike touring?
Yeah it would be. If you look at some of the other videos you’ll see that there is a big bike community that loves these tents.
How is Big Agnus on their warranty?
