What about he and his father being found guilty of rental discrimination way back when? I would think that qualifies.
They were sued by the DOJ and settled, there was no trial or conviction. “Trump and his father fiercely fought a 1973 discrimination lawsuit brought by the Justice Department for their alleged refusal to rent apartments in predominantly white buildings to black tenants. Testimony showed that the applications filed by black apartment seekers were marked with a “C’’ for “colored.” A settlement that ended the lawsuit did not require the Trumps to explicitly acknowledge that discrimination had occurred - but the government’s description of the settlement said Trump and his father had “failed and neglected” to comply with the Fair Housing Act.” He certainly has an extensive track record of being disgusting hot garbage, but he’s never been held accountable for anything other than the civil suit with E Jean Carroll and his most current 34x felony convictions.
Had he been tried and convicted of fraud every time he didn't pay contractors, because at least half the time it was fraud, he would not have been able to be considered a first-time felon. Had he been convicted of fraud after Trump University went down in flames, instead of paying off that chick in Florida not to see the crime and let him walk with a $25 M fine, he would not bw considered a first-time felon.
He's a first offender in the same way a serial killer is a first offender when they finally get caught.

What makes me sick is that I’ve been treated worse than Trump in traffic court. And if I’d behaved the way Trump did I would have gone to jail, not for the speeding ticket, but for contempt of court.

I think the judge Marchan should stipulate that Trump must stop saying anything about the conviction - no more accusations, denials, no more anything about the trial or conviction. No libel or slander of anyone. Even one single violation will cost him a year in prison.
When I falsified documents in my own business, I was caught, tried, and convicted of a felony. Despite it being my first offense, I was shown no leniency. If Donald Trump is not given a similar sentence for his actions, I believe I should receive an apology letter and compensation for the time I served. 😡

The judge presumed innocence during the trial when the Contempt violations occurred. So Merchan was loathe to imprison a presumed-innocent defendant. Now that DJT is a felon, incarceration is normal and the crime is no longer simply contempt. Plus he could have been sentenced to 300 days just on the contempt charges he was found guilty of.

I DON'T agree with a 20 year sentence for this first trial: it would be (rightly in my view) read as "excessive" and for some would CONFIRM that this trial was "political", rather than about the Rule of Law. He was convicted of all 34 counts and he has threatened the judge his family, jurors, the DA's and their families and hadn't shown any remorse so Trump should be given jail time as much jail time that the law allows.

Those werent misdemeanors like 34 traffic tickets.. those are serious convictions..the jury heard more evidence than us so you know they had him nailed with evidence
