- The 1988 Open Championship was held 14th-18th July at the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. Bad weather had forced a Monday finish. Seve Ballesteros shot a final round 65 to capture his third Open Championship two strokes ahead of runner-up Nick Price.
Highlights introduced by Harry Carpenter. - กีฬา
Seve's chip on 18, under unbelievable pressure with an open championship on the line. Anyone who's ever played the game knows how great a shot that was. Gone but not forgotten.
What an absolute pleasure to relive these classic rounds. The man's magnetizing charisma has never been matched.
My Dad took me to watch. Brilliant best golf Ive ever witnessed.
It’s so great to hear the original commentary from Peter Alliss, Alex Hay and Bruce Critchley! Thanks for sharing👍🏼
I remember this as if it were yesterday. Seve. My golfing hero.
Seve what a Master of his profession the British crowds loved him like he was one of their own.Such a shame that we tragically lost him so young. A real inspiration to all the European players that they could beat the yanks in their own backyard👍
Im watchin seve swing a club... he was so smooth and so great too... he putts too with a basic move just little press and pop... what a talent he was...
There is nothing like the Open Championship!! I've been to see a few, 1990 St Andrews, 1995 St Andrews, 1998 Royal Birkdale and 2011 Royal St Georges. More to come in the future for sure.
As kids playing in the early 80s, we'd spray a drive and then, after making a semi-miraculous recovery, exclaim "Seve!"
Never another major after making that little putt after probably one of the greatest shots hit in the Open under the circumstances. For a time, Seve was arguably one of the greatest golfers off all time. RIP, great man!
Freedy using ping eye 2s!!!! Swing looks exactly the same now.....and seve, my hero the reason I got into golf, so sadly missed!
Remember the following year? Mark Calchaveccia using ping eye 2's but berrylium, square grooves. Caused quite a bit of controversy. Beat 2 aussies in the 4 hole playoff
you were, you are ,you will be the greatest.miss you severiano.
yep REESPECT .🤗🤗
Watched him hitting balls at Wentworth before he went out and shot 65...was like a laser, every shot. Glad I got to see him at his peak, proper genius with a golf club
When I was young maybe 12, 13 yrs old I used to practice shots from all sorts of situations, certainly came in handy.
Seve had a graceful swing in those days
My hero too, the greatest in my mind
Genius of a pitch
22:35 this is why I love this game so much. It commands so much respect and humility.
i remember watching fhat live, good memories
The broadcasting quality contradicts somewhat with the level of play by Seve.
I was 12 and got a job via school picking litter. We watched loads of golf too.
Seve was a short game wizard.
I’ll never understand how these guys putt so well...l didn’t
I reckon putting cost me a few grand slams
@@spencer.kissack.the.author bad luck, if I’d averaged 30 putts a round I would have played off 1, maybe even scratch…I mostly played off 4.
But I was a hopeless putter.
Brilliant
yep I remember SEVVY saying ( its great tooo bee back at Leeetham ) a GOLFING GOD. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

How is your Spanish? Is it as good as Seve’s English?
Seve in his prime was / is the greatest golfer ever.
When Tiger Woods was asked to describe Seve he said one word #GENIUS
This video isn’t working. Possible to put it back up again?
Maestro
