It is abslutely fantastic way of learning. I want you, Rachel, to continue with this format. The only bad thing about that is that one understands how far is real american english from the one we consider to be english.
I do not understand fluent speech and, therefore, practically did not understand anything from what you said, but I understood your explanations in the video. How to combine words, sounds. and how to read them correctly. very cool
I have been practicing english pronunciation since the times of cassette tapes. And have followed your videos for many years now. Your method is the best.
I’ve never seen such videos! It’s sooo useful! 😉👏 This is the best exercise to better understand native speakers I think, I’m looking very much forward to seeing other videos like these ones! Thanks a lot Rachel 😊
Always here waiting with big hope Improving Pronunciation and understand American Accent! On the moon,I'm! Very happy seeing you again! See you tomorrow!
I'm watching different accents videos and I love your american english ones. I'm improving my listening and these videos really help me with american accent. Thank you.
My theory about why we say “there’s” even when there’s a plural noun is two fold: 1) it’s easier. The double r sound in “there are” is kind of hard and awkward to say. 2) parallel language. He listed three things there are in the trailer, and the other two mentioned use “there’s.” The sentence flows better and sounds better when the repetition of the the same word. “There’s drugs, there’s violence, there’s swearing.” It wouldn’t sound as good if you said “there’re drugs, there’s violence, there’s swearing.”
Rachel your efforts support us to ensure you to be an excellent american English Teacher. But not more than your beautiful and lovely expressions. That looks very natural and impressive I've ever seen in English teachers.
Hello Rachel! Nice to see you! Thank you so much for the lesson! Each your lesson literally increases the ability of understanding real English speech:)
This method is very similar to the method of the coach Shane, It's longer than the coach, but before the explanation, the coach generally explain the movie, so the listener knows first what the caracters of the movie are talking about.
It's important to notice that the part "There's drugs, there's violence, there's swearing" has an upward intonation. When you list things in English such as drugs, violence and swearing, your intonation goes up at the end. This is true in many other languages, too like in Spanish, but not in Finnish, so it's important to pay attention to what intonation English and the languages you're learning use when listing things.
Hi Rachel, I am glad you mentioned about the trend of "There is Xs" (15:50). I have noticed you used it in your TH-cam videos and wanted to ask you about it... Thank you for your approval of this usage. :-) Best, Albert from San Francisco

@Rachel's , I'm so happy with my listening skill, I've noticed that missing ''have'' after '''we'' just before you corrected the sentence . ^_^. I do lov yer grea wok helping as wid spoken English.
When you try to see one movie in English the problem is you have only one opportunity to catch alll the words because the movie continues and you can’t analyze one scene when you already have a new one.
"There's drugs " is correct, because you can't count it, like there's money and etc, but if you have more specific things like there are dollars or there are 3 kg something. There are problems, because you can count problems
Wow, impressive 2 million subscribers. I remember when you did your thank you video, thanking your subscribers for all their support when you reached a million subscriber after nine years of producing great content. You're right. I started watching Rachel's videos two and half years ago, and I've seen tremendous difference in the way I speak English. I have no problems understanding any American English speaker anymore. I cam understand British and Australian speakers easily, too. But most importantly I can express myself very fluently without doubting myself at all. She's the best accent couch.

How came you choose a clip of movie with a strong accent speaker?
Hi! While he does have a lower, rougher voice, I wouldn't describe him as speaking with an "accent"!

Why use 'on' , but not 'of', in one of the producers on your movie?
Hi! Both would work - however I think in the movie-making business it is pretty common to say "I'm a produce on...".
