I never get tired of saying: this is the best way for us to learn true english pronuciantion and accent in a confortable and nice way...excellent method..good job, Rachel !
As always , it is awesome. I'd like to declare one thing that you might not be aware of it. What you are doing is a huge ,huge help for all of non natives especially those who live in remote areas. The ones who have dreams of progress in their lives but due to lack of technology, it is a bit hard. But now you are doing a good job to help all to expand their insights of English . God bless you
Have to say, this is an interesting approach and probably a lot more engaging than most other content out there. What I've realised recently is that people think they HAVE to have an extensive grammatical and/or theoretical knowledge of English (or any language) BEFORE they can even try to watch or listen to anything native and that's such a pity. I got caught up in this at the beginning as well, it never even occurred to me that I could try watching native content(without subtitles, in either language) and that I had to wait until I understood more until I could do that but that's ridiculous. All of the instructional videos on language learning are next to useless if people aren't constantly engaging with the language in their leisure time, watching movies or tv shows, reading books, anything. Even if you have all of this theoretical knowledge, if all you're doing is learner material exercises you're never going to get good at understanding real, native language. Drives me crazy but it's nice to see videos like this which are at least a step in the right direction.

Hi, Rachel. I'd like to suggest a theme for a video... once I was reading a text that informed that whenever a Y sound /j/ appears at the start of a word or syllable, the sound turns into another one. There were six situations in there: -S + Y = SH ; (issue, tissue, sure, extension, mansion, this year = thiSHear) -Z + Y = ZH ; (measure, fuision, version, it was you = itwaZH'a cause you're = cauZH're) -T + Y = CH ; (mature, mention, but you = buCH'a) -D + Y = J; (procedure, during, did you = diJ'a, need you = neeJ'a) -TS + Y = CH ; (it's your mom = iCH'r mom) -DZ + Y = J; (friend's union = frenJoonion) I've already noticed that before, then I looked for it to confirm...
This is really going to work great i think. I have been searching for this kind of stuff. Happy to find u mam. Understanding the words in dialogues of native English speakers is more often really tough for me being an indian.
Awesome! I'm so glad it's going to work for you. There are tons of Ben Franklin type videos on the channel. Welcome to Rachel's English! And of course please check out Rachel's English Academy!
Hi, Rachel🙂 As always an excellent video! You mention that T is not a stop T when it's part of a cluster. I think ST is a cluster, but I'm not sure what it is exactly. Could you please explain? Many thanks
Hi! When a T is part of a cluster like ST, it will usually be a True T, lightly pronounced, or a the speaker will drop it - usually this happens when the ST cluster is linking into a word that starts with a consonant sound - like 'last night'.
@@rachelsenglish Thanks, Rachel! I was wondering, how would you classify something as a cluster? Is a cluster when we have two consonants next to each other, like ST for example?
