Evart Funfest 2007. Dan Landrum, Mark Wade on Marimbula and Randy Clepper on Bouzouki. Song: Split Rail Fences by Dan Landrum from the 1998 CD Questions in the Calm
ODPC- an event in Michigan where you can get in for 3 nights of concerts for a mere $5. Well worth it, IMHO, just to see Dan Landrum!!! Happens annually. We went last year, OMG was that a blast. (Stephen Seifert and other well known players are there too.)
First time I ever heard this guy was this morning.. on a show on PBS called Music Voyager. I was like man i never heard anything like that Totally blew me away. In the past couple years i been working on a CD project (still in making hehe) doing research for specific sounding stringed instruments for particular songs and Dulcimers came up in my research. I thought it would be interesting to learn how to play and use but never seen it actually be taken to THIS LIMIT!! KILLER JOB DOODE! :O)
Love this music. Always pleasant to listen to 😊

It's a marimbula made by Cloud Nine Musical Instruments. It's usually playing with your fingers though...
Love it. Nice arrangement too!

i really like the sound of the marimbula. i wonder if the cloud nine guys will make me a really big one, with like 30 bars on it.
