How to adjust RV trailer brakes like a Pro | Full Time RV

If your brake controller is getting up there, it's time to adjust your Rv's brakes. This is super easy to do, this applies to drum brakes on older vehicles as well. Every RVer can do this. You only need a few tools to do this adjustment:
1. A jack - I used the one my truck has in it to show how easy it is.
2. Flathead screw driver.
3. Flashlight
If your brakes are not stopping you or your brake controller is 8 or above then you really need to do this to your RV.

A brake spoon makes the adjustment easier than using a screwdriver.

Yes it does just didn’t have one. Had to make do with what I had. Also just about everyone has a flathead so they will be able to do it as well. But I agree the brake spoon does make life easier.

Our Rv is a 2022 Grand Design Image, wish it had self adjusting brakes. What brand of Rv do you have?

@@sweettrippin 2014 Forest River X-Lite 22 foot. I bought it brand new and have yet to work on the brakes but of course it's not like it's a daily driver.
