Good idea Likhith... Such technical interviews are normally done with a case study (at least here in NZ) and don't happen live. Candidates are give a case and asked to prepare their answers and submit. So may be that is something I can do. If people like this idea, feel free to upvote this comment so I can prioritize it.
Both SQL and PowerBI is very easy to learn but the problem is translating a business problem into the right efficient code is the trick. Very nice selection of questions, highly practical and I like the way you both take turns which makes it more engaging.
Thanks Siva. Yes, learning tech is just one part of the puzzle. The real win is when you can think from customer perspective and figure out intuitive and simple solutions to the problems with the tech.
Absolutely right sir, but i think translating a business problem into the right efficient code this skill have only experienced employee But how can freshers get this skill.. normally they have to work on that.
In a recent interview for Data Analyst role in a furniture company I got a question "Tell me a scenario/situation you faced where you focused on attention to details". I tried to convince them with my answer but it would be great if you could explain the best approach to handle this question. Thank you for the video.
when Jo asked you about your favorite feature in excel, i knew that you will answer PVT and CF. haha. Chandoo, i like all the vids you shared. Jo, as a pro, is definitely a nice addition to your vids. You guys both rock. Thank you!
Great video. Using chatgpt with the youtube transcript works wonder. Just add the prompt, please remove timestamp and add punctuation followed by the script. You will have wonderful Q&A notes for better study and absorption.
I was watching Excel Skills for Accountants and came across Power Query, Power Pivots and Power BI. Do you believe Power BI will replace Excel Dashboards in next 5 years time? I have noticed lots of External Data consultants who hate Excel VBA and prefer Power Query. It seems to me there's big shift towards Power BI.
Good Q Bhavik. Power BI is not really a replacement for Excel. It is just another tool. It has its own shortcomings. I did an excellent comparison between these two a while ago here - th-cam.com/video/nOWzpJ4gUKo/w-d-xo.html (you should really watch it). On the other hand, I *HIGHLY* recommend using Power Query for all data clean-up automation. I don't use VBA for this anymore.
Pls give subtitles also. And use mike.and your English is accented. Speak English like Indian. Slowly. Understandable 😊👍🇮🇳. You work with foreigner that's why your English pro. We are beginner 🇮🇳👍😊. Thank for making video. Also watching first time mam also. 😊👍👍
TH-cam makes subtitles automatically. It is a lot of work to manually type them myself. Feel free to volunteer if you want to give back something. You can also adjust video speed on YT. I won't change my accent or talking style for people on internet.
Good, I love that. One question that I want to ask is.What is your biggest error solving time like how much time it takes to solve one particular error (maybe day, week or month)
Thanks Manish. That is a good question too. For questions like that, I recommend using the STAR approach when answering. This score highpoints in the interview. I talk about the STAR approach in this video - th-cam.com/video/f7lBYh1_9BQ/w-d-xo.html
So as a student, I see the courses say that I should be asking SME or my team about the missing data before i take my own decision or discard it. can someone help me understand this?
Hey there! When dealing with missing data, it's crucial to consult with your SME or team, especially if the data ownership isn't solely yours. 🤌🏻 This ensures that any decisions made, like deleting or imputing data, are in line with the team's objectives and won’t lead to unintentional loss of important information. In general, if you're allowed to handle the data independently, you should consider using statistical methods or machine learning models to replace the missing values. Straightforward deletion of missing data can often result in the loss of valuable information, which might affect the accuracy of your analysis. Hope this helps ✨
Thank you for detailed explanation will you able to make video on more critical situations in reports and management need it urgent how do you deal with that for insurance domain and product
Thank you so much.... This video is very informative for people like me who are learning and simultaneously preparing for interviews... ,,love from india . 🇮🇳🙋❤️
Great couple! Makes sense, why Chandoo is so energetic, enthusiastic and so versatile! Not very relevant to this mock interview though, lately I have been utilizing SQL in Excel (ADODB.Connection & ADODB.Recordset) a lot. I find that it eliminates the necessity of coming across many complicated steps and utilizing complex functions (often nested) for making aggregated results. So far, I found SQL is faster too, at times I even used inner/nested queries. Do you have any plan for making video lessons on SQL for Excel? Surely your presentation skills and enthusiasm are unparallel. Agree with both of you, conditional formatting is one of the most attractive features of Excel, and for repetitive tasks I often utilize VBA code to apply conditional formatting.
Great Interview! I had my final technical found today and found this to be really handy. I had 1. What's the most challenging situation you have faced 2. How did u overcome it 3. Top tools & programming languages for data analysis
I loved it . Was very useful video !! How long it take to you to become an expert and what do you do when get stuck in a complex task and do it see easy solution how you rest the mind , thanks again looking forward the next
sir mai java developer hu muje company data analyst ki profile de rhi aur bol rhi hai on project thoda training denge, to kya mai data analyst ke roles pe work ker paunga bagair proper training ke ?
Great Q. Here is how I would answer that. 1) Have one true source of data, ideally database with integrity constraints. 2) If not using a DB, then set up validation rules (in excel, forms etc) to ensure clean data 3) If data is sourced from "typed in" values, identify and fix common typos, synonyms and omissions (for ex: ABC co = ABC Corp) 4) If the data spans a long period of time, figure out ways to handle changes. (for ex: Finance Department renamed to FP&A in 2022) 5) Use Power Query (or other such tools) Column Profile tools to see what is in each column and take necessary steps if needed.

A Question which I faced: What measures do you adopt to ensure quality data?
Great Q. Here is how I would answer that.
1) Have one true source of data, ideally database with integrity constraints.
2) If not using a DB, then set up validation rules (in excel, forms etc) to ensure clean data
3) If data is sourced from "typed in" values, identify and fix common typos, synonyms and omissions (for ex: ABC co = ABC Corp)
4) If the data spans a long period of time, figure out ways to handle changes. (for ex: Finance Department renamed to FP&A in 2022)
5) Use Power Query (or other such tools) Column Profile tools to see what is in each column and take necessary steps if needed.
