Great video (as always)! As a customization nerd I'm not a huge fan of iOS but if I did have to buy an iPhone, it would definitely be the 12 Mini to avoid the finger-gymnastics. Used a friend's 12 Pro Max for about one minute and realised exactly why the smaller ones exist. Battery life is not a huge issue, but (in India, where I live) price is. Due to currency discrepancies (context: the average Indian monthly income as per data is just shy of $450), 700 dollars is, although not cheap, good value for a prospective buyer. Sadly coz of taxes and all, the Mini retails for a (converted) $930 which is harder to justify when compared to similarly priced Androids - to say nothing of the $1900 Pro Max.
I currently have the 2nd generation SE iPhone. The phone fits me well( I'm 5’2 with normal size hands for my height). But previously, I had the XR, and it was a major adjustment. But, I hope Apple keeps up with the mini-series with future phones, I think I like the smaller design better.

I only use my 12 mini for homework, school projects and doing researches. Moreover, I only have 26 to 31% of battery to use because I have a habit of keeping the percentage between 45 and 76% (85% at max if I forget to unplug it on time). Therefore, I can’t use it heavily anyways. As a result, this phone fits my usage perfectly.
i just got my 12 mini, and im SO HAPPY WITH IT, this is the nicest flagship any company has made in years... i have a few questions for you and your experience though, mainly to do with heat and thermals.... my phone seems to get warm easily, obviously with the 20w charger its going to be significant while charging. But during video calls, long sessions of texting or organization have warmed up the back more than im used too or would expect this is ofc in the eyes of someone coming from an iphone 6 which isnt very powerful and didnt get very warm at all... is it normal for these new phones to get warm? PS: its never so hot that i cant hold the phone, its just quite hot

Was thinking between the Note 20 regular and this 12 Mini. I just can't. The 12 Mini is smaller than my current S7, and I love it that way. The Note 20 have a stylus, and I do use it quite alot (my previous phone's a Note 3 way before my A30s which is a pain). I guess I'm turning in to iOS just because of the 12 Mini Edit: Will get the Mini in a few months
I have a note 9 and this and i keep on reaching for the 12mini more and more now 😂 coz of its size its sooo comfy to hold! 😱 i think this is a realization i didn't know i needed
Just traded in my 11 pro max for the 12 mini and holy crap it’s so easy to use. I always had to juggle the max around to try and use with 1 hand. It’s also annoying to carry in my pocket as it’s huge.
The problem with 12 mini sales is not the phone itself it's the fact they priced it too high. Drop it by $100 or even $50 and that will make a big difference. Also the fact that the small (and very inexpensive) iPhone SE 2020 came out earlier the same year really hurt mini sales.
I had pre-ordered the 12 Pro through my Carrier but after a month of no updates i walked into the Apple store and just grabbed the 12 Mini, coming from a XS which pooped the bed i love the size/shape, only wish they had a Pro model with the telephoto camera.
@@VegaMyster I had this exact same conversation with a work colleague. He owns a mini and I have an SE (2020). First off the mini is an absolute awesome phone. The features you get cramped into that form factor is just insane. He said the same thing as you about the telephoto lens. He even is prepared to give up 5G to replace it. I can see his point. I personally couldn’t care less about 5G on my SE, so I really do see his point. I bet my bottom dollar that if the mini dropped 5G and had an lcd display with 326 ppi. And was sold for $549....... people would have flocked to it just like they did for the SE (2020).
I got the SE 2020 for $250, some deals you can even get it for $199. The mini is way to expensive when you can buy 3 SE 2020's for the price of 1 mini. If it was in the $500 range I might of considered it, if it had touch ID.
Thanks for the video, my V-day gift is the iPhone 12 mini from my Husband. I had the iPhone SE (1st one), I love small phones. My compromise was going a bit bigger and heavier since all the other phones were way to big for my taste. I hope apple will always keep a smaller option for its petite fans🤞🏻.
when i went from my 7plus to a 10, it felt weird af first lol now i’m 11 going to 12 mini so i feel like it won’t feel too different now and i had loved that 10 size‼️❤️
I have the same experience, I have always chosen the largest screen display available on all my phones, Note 9, One Plus 7 pro t, iphone 11 max, Surface Duo and yet for some reason this iphone mini is my favorite. I admit I can't use it as my primary device because of the small battery but as a little incognito secondary device always hidden away in one of my pockets it is priceless. Many reliable sources are saying even though it only accounts for 5% of the new iphone 12 lineup sales that Apple is going to keep it in the 13 series and I hope they do but if not I will pick up another one while they are still available to stash for sure. If Samsung develops a mini like this in their S series that would be awesome and definitely a must have.
The trend of Bigger Smartphone screens would only make perfect sense if you add the ability to Multi-Task on it (Split-screen, Picture-in-Picture-in-Picture, Pop-up quick view, etc.). So it truly baffles me that Apple has decided to also jump on the trend of making their iPhone line-up bigger but with absolute 0 multi-tasking capabilities (even after claiming the best Chip and Performance on their devices). Instead their Android counterparts absolutely excel in that regard despite the lower performance. BUT as you said, it would make a lot more sense for Apple to just focus on the iPhone Mini models instead, since its the most basic version of the iPhone without the added weight or unnecessary size, if they're not willing to go all the way.
Feels like... A phone. I can actually keep it in my pocket when sitting down without getting uncomfortable.
On the flip side there are people like me out there. I'm 6'4" and have sasquatch hands. I love the 12 pro max and it feels normal to me. XD

But during video calls, long sessions of texting or organization have warmed up the back more than im used too or would expect
this is ofc in the eyes of someone coming from an iphone 6 which isnt very powerful and didnt get very warm at all... is it normal for these new phones to get warm?
PS: its never so hot that i cant hold the phone, its just quite hot
Even mine does the same, especially when using navigation and playing games like asphalt 9... I was wondering if it was a fault with my device.
@@ebenezer1635 So do you think this is just normal thermals? and its just due to the small form factor and high end hardware...?
@@bradlubner8243 I’d probably say, it’s due to the small size if u are facing issues during gpu intensive gaming . Just get it checked to be safe... also I wonder if the display on your device is a warmer shade than most other devices ?
@@ebenezer1635 what do you mean? like colourway?
@@bradlubner8243 my display looks more warm. Kind of like yellowish white . I found a quick fix to this by turning on color filters in the settings.
i actually planned to get the 12 pro but the 12 mini is much more of a fun, lightweight and small device so i got the 12 mini. And the battery is not a problem for me, i dont know why y'all tech reviewers are making such a big deal about the battery
planning to get myself the pro but decided to get the mini + airpods pro
1:06 that's what she said
Just got the iPhone 12 mini today! Love it so much.
great 😊 my dream come true I REALLY was waiting for you’re review after using SE IPJONE FOR THE LONGEST OF 4 years. Ür way of explaining the use,it’s just listing to my daily life!! Simple and SMALL !!!
Nothing will ever feel more comfortable than the iPhone 5/5s/SE 1st gen🥰
Get a 12 mini in your hands, it's very very close!
Just got mine yesterday after having an iPhone 5 for 2 years. I LOVE LOVEEEE the size and the battery life is so much better compared to my last iPhone.
Buying it this week, super excited. Upgrading from 8
I’m watching this on the 12 mini and it feels and looks great
Just got mine today and it's so amazing!!!💃💃
Does it have the zoomed setting option for the screen like iPhone 7 and 8 have?
Finally upgraded from iPhone SE 1st generation to 12 mini= Best purchase 👍🏾
Thanks to the designer at apple who pushed the mini to come to fruition.
im planning on getting this phone soon! i have a 6s right now so it's a big upgrade for me 🤣
Thanks for the video
Have mine delivered 2 days ago, happy man at the moment! 🙌
I am going to get the mini today. I just wanted to see if I was getting my moneys worth, and it sounds to me like I am.
hi!! what’s the selfie camera quality like if you don’t mind me asking?:)
Watching this on my mini
Hehe me too.
Is the 12 mini same size as a 6s or 8???
I have 12 mini , it is great. Only thing I have noticed the display is different compared to Iphone XS and iPhone 12 pro.... but only noticed when next to them... besides that, I love it
Just bought one. wanted an iPhone 12 so badly but didn’t want to have a phone I couldn’t fit in my pocket - got a blue one and it’s one of the best iPhones I’ve ever used
Great video!
I came from a galaxy note 20 ultra (laggy and buggy) to this. Omg, so much nicer. I love my 12 mini ❤️
Was thinking between the Note 20 regular and this 12 Mini. I just can't. The 12 Mini is smaller than my current S7, and I love it that way. The Note 20 have a stylus, and I do use it quite alot (my previous phone's a Note 3 way before my A30s which is a pain). I guess I'm turning in to iOS just because of the 12 Mini
Edit: Will get the Mini in a few months
@Cali_ Kid sounds really unlucky
It looks like an improved iphone 5s with camera on steroids😀
That's exactly what it feels like too!
I'm still using iphone se 1st Gen and no problem till now🙃
The problem with 12 mini sales is not the phone itself it's the fact they priced it too high. Drop it by $100 or even $50 and that will make a big difference. Also the fact that the small (and very inexpensive) iPhone SE 2020 came out earlier the same year really hurt mini sales.
iPhone 12 mini is an awesome phone. Beyond happy with my purchase
So tempted to upgrade to it from an iPhone X. Went to the store to check out 12 and 12 Pro and to my surprise fell in love with the Mini
How about the battery?
To support it
I just bought one
Hope it’ll help 🥺
Thank you for the review 🙏
Right!! I think the price should’ve been 629 instead of 729. I think that’s why it’s not a huge hit with Apple users.
I got the SE 2020 for $250, some deals you can even get it for $199. The mini is way to expensive when you can buy 3 SE 2020's for the price of 1 mini. If it was in the $500 range I might of considered it, if it had touch ID.
@@jayh40515 in my country the price of a mini is almost same as 2 iphone se 2020, both base/storage model
Omg, you're with Koodo! Lol I was watching this review because I was debating on switching to Koodo and tab into their iPhone 12 Mini
Always appreciate ur honest review bro 👌🏾
I’ve just known you. I love your videos!
I just got mines in white today. Love it 🥰 also I usually go with black but am glad I decided to switch things up
I hope small phones don't go away
Greate review ! :D ! Can you let us know what is the widget and from where did you get the homescreen wallpaper? thanks ;)
12 mini my fav iPhone ever too
Nice review!
I have the iPhone 6s and I definitely plan on upgrading to the 12 mini soon because I’m not into big phones
I agree with everything, minus your SOT. It's not just 4.5h but 6-7 if you switch of 5G (LTE is more than good enough) and dont game. I love my Mini!
I’ve remained loyal to the 7 up till now. Does the OLED display make up for the non-existent home button?
Nice video, and you have a really big hands though bro :))
when i went from my 7plus to a 10, it felt weird af first lol now i’m 11 going to 12 mini so i feel like it won’t feel too different now and i had loved that 10 size‼️❤️
