Phoebe, Great helming and docking 👍 FYI - radical changes to diet can cause you to be sick, just as a person who suddenly becomes vegetarian can get toxic shock, likewise a vegetarian suddenly becoming a full omnivore can too, take it slowly and allow your body to adjust, becoming pescetarian first is a good approach 👍It's great to see you growing emotionally, you can grow some veg on the boat too, Mung bean sprout and Alfalfa sprouts are quite easy to grow on a boat in a small jar, and don't take too much space, and might help space out the time between provisioning runs
Really love how you guys bring humour to situations that are … well not ideal. Love the environmental message and ethos. Such intelligent consideration.
Cheers Ross, it means a lot for us to be able to use this platform to communicate with positivity things we feel strongly about. Appreciate the love mate.
How mature you both are. A very positive outlook and explanation. You owe no one any explanations and no one has the right to judge what you eat and when. . Also we are at Hervey Bay in the marina. We bought our boat at Jacobs well, you have some lovely spots coming up. Gary’s anchorage is great for fish and crab.
Thank you so much for your kind words, it's a little scary laying yourself bare, especially under the sometimes scrutinous opinions of YT. So positive feedback like this is really appreciated. Thanks a lot :) We are beyond excited for whats to come!
Thank you, David! Having no experience on boats until we began sailing Innerbloom, I still have a lot to learn. But getting better each time :) Thanks so much
Safe place, good holding mud. I spent several months in this corner several years ago - well protected against predominant SE winds, tolerable in W/NW, hope Greg is doing well over there.
Hey kids, Phoebe mad respect for the decisions you have decided for your food journey, that cant have been an easy decision to come too. Just a few things about fish if you want to further utilise/respect this fish, a couple species you will come across up on the reef - coral trout and spanish mackerel. Coral trout you can fry up little strips of the skin in oil/butter into a similar thing to pork crackling, a nice little crunchy snack. once you have filleted a spanish mackerel dont throw the fish frame away, you can barbeque up the spine like ribs and eat the meat from between the bones. You can also boil up the fish heads / frames to make a broth or fish stock for your cooking. Happy sailing.
Amazing advice, Andy! Thank you so much for your respect and kindness - massive thought went into this decision so I appreciate the support. We are super excited to explore more of the underwater garden, and will note your feedback re: coral trout and Mackies! Cheers :)
Aww thanku - we're from the Northern Rivers - kin! I'll definitely be here watching for as long as you are making videos - I laugh alot and just enjoy the freshness of your experience. Doing a lovely job you are x
Really enjoying your videos! One tip I can pass on to you is to learn how much wind there is by reading the water and taking a guess. Check it with your hand held instrument but over time you’ll pick the strength perfectly. 15kts is white caps. Look ip the Beaufort scale and use that as a visual guide. Sorry but holding the crabs hand in the prayer was very funny.
Thanks Chris! Every time I check the wind speed I’m always taking a guess before hand. I have researched and love the Beaufort Scales practicality. Cheers mate, Josh
Hi guys you're in my old stamping ground nice to remenisce saw at least a 20ft Tiger shark on my last trip from Wellington point to brissyy river, So don't go swimming mud crab bloody lovely cheers n beers Marty Qld
Nice thoughts on food. For what its worth, I got Hypothyroidism due to going vegetarian. Specialists said it was due to glutens being the same as thyroid (Short version) we can only do what we can do. Still waiting for the home made baked beans/rice dish. Your beans looked so much better than any I have made. I am talking the version when you were anti-fouling.
I am a new subscriber and have just finished watching all of your videos. Your videos are just amazing! You are a beautiful, talented and fun young couple. I look forward to following you all, on what will be many adventures for years to come. Hint....hint.....it's also the best place to raise a family...ha..ha! Much love to you both!
What a beautiful message, it's a pleasure to have you here mate! We are loving every second of it - and for the foreseeable future, with just the two of us ;) welcome aboard!
Grab this book Phoebe! The Hunter and The Gatherer. Catherine Lawson and Dave Bristow. She was vego for 25 years. They live on their boat in Indonesia. Don't let any negative comments here upset you. You do you. Great episode. You guys are hilarious. Cheers 😊
Noted! This book has come up a lot for me recently - it must be time for me to get it. Thank you for bringing my attention to it and I'll let you know how it goes! Big love, Deb x
..... re the laundry pilfering .. back in the day 80's, only used laundry's that had an attendant after going to the pub for a pint or two while laundry was in and upon returning my Levi's were gone, that gets pricey .... got introduced to shopping in thrift stores about the same time as the previous experience for Halloween costumes and found the there was perfectly wearable items on the cheep. Prob aware but just'n - Can make your own tofu, bit of work, but u have time. Micro greens are very easy, requires little space, lots of variety. Diy portable greenhouses from pvc stackable storage containers for larger (protects from wind, salt).
@sailinginnnerbloom I mix it up for variety, but favourites are, radish, watercress, sunflower, larger tubs I grow cos lettuce, spinach. Also have pots mounted inside under the windows for herbs. Prob aware, but you could also breed woodies for the lizard in something as small as a chinese container.
By saying, '... getting our rigging SUAGED, " do you mean that you're having inspection and repairs done, or is there a specific procedure by that name?
@discord2000 is exactly right! Crimping the tubular stainless steel fittings onto the rig using high pressure. You'll see this demonstrated in our most recent video!
Was that an alien space ship I saw at the 1.33 mark of the video. I certainly am hearing a lot of farting noises in these videos. Good luck Pheobe. Eating what you harvest from the ocean will be the best way to provide your needed proteins. The two of you will not be over eating if Josh doesn't get better at fishing. A little humor there Josh. ❤🙏
Look after that nose and face from the sun Phoebe. Your nose was peeling bad. Dont want a wrinkled up face and sun scared nose before you are 40. That was an impressive approach to the dock for a beginner. Need to feel and judge the drift and put into reverse early to slow gradually almost to a stop. 👍
I dont like mud crabs, way too strong each time we catch one ill try it but still prefer sand crabs ❤ love your baby listens, cant say that with my kids x safe travels you guys are awesome Jacinta (Mum)
Yabbies catch small fish. I'm at Scarborough in Moreton, and use whole fish like pilchards or similar size. I got a Benny Oceania 400. My wife can buy undies for your Mrs. Haha
So we've learned, and still learning! Any advice is greatly appreciated. We're many miles north of Moreton now, and happy to say that fishing has improved! As always, thanks for your comment, Aaron :)
Plenty of respect for all things Japanese! In our home together before Innerbloom we had an old extendable wooden dining table that we cut the legs off to have at floor height. We really admire plenty from eastern cultures
Phoebe a bit of real protein will do you good that’s why we have teeth that can cut and grind ….. unlike say cows that just grind grass ! Enjoy all the experiences of what nature gives us to survive out here on the water.
29:28, nice1 mate. Your ancestors' didn't eat tofu in that their caves. What they did was bless the life force that was given for their feed that has brought us all to here and now. None would be here but for their wisdom. Keep blessing with your heart and soul for every meal you consume be it fruit, veg, or meat and our ancestors' will surely benefit because of your wisdom also
Oh you kids have me in stitches over the undies- lonely sea- men 😂😂😂 Believe me when cruising you need very little clothes wise under sail - in fact nothing as with many anchorages and beaches. Next Bras n Things buy a dozen pairs and just make sure you do not leave in the washing machine or dryer, in fact - hand wash in a bucket and hang furthest away from jetty. My wife has lost a couple of g’s and bikini bottoms which are expensive ! Start trolling each time your under way and I am sure you will catch a good feed daily - any spare fillets and freeze ! Let me tell you if you hunt your meat when sailing you are doing it right and going back to our roots by hunting and gathering. Plastics and oil pollution in the ocean are our biggest problem killing creatures and polluting our planet! Sail safe youngsters!
Cheers Tony! We love being in the nude but it’s also pleasant to have the option for clothes if you feel! Now we actually have an excuse to go undie shopping, yahoo!! We have been trolling every passage now, providing the conditions aren’t too challenging for me to fillet. Cheers mate, Josh
Of all the sailing channels I look forward to yours the most. Josh, maybe rather than cut your foul language (which is still very audible), you may try to improve the quality of your speech. (and I mean this in the nicest possible way). Keep up the great videos.
It’s amazing because God wrote instructions in the Bible how we are to Love our Animals and to Thank them for giving up there life for us to eat. It’s also very important in the Bible on how you kill your animal for food. You’re to kill them with Love and absolutely no trauma or torture to the animal because all the beautiful animals in the Sea and on Earth are all His creation. We just need to Love God and do everything thru Love and then it’s a Beautiful thing. PeaceAndLove Lori
I think eating meat because you actually need to is very different to choosing it over alternatives. I like that you were so respectful of the animals. Also, really hope your undies were taken by a homeless person who was really needy. I will happily donate to Phoebe's underwear fund but please don't send any of Josh's undies; maybe you should auction them off.
Congrats on becoming an omnivore. It’s a big step. Unfortunately you have partnered with the worst fishing instructor in the world, but that probably works to your advantage. The process of catch, kill, fillet and cook might be a bit overwhelming emotionally, but you can work up to that. Your ethos is in the right place, understanding that the energy you consume should be part of a naturally renewing process, regardless of the source. And throwing food scraps overboard completes the circle of life. Sorry to hear about the stolen items, but if I heard correctly, Josh just volunteered to hand wash all future personal items for you for now on.
This cracked me up! And also an extremely well worded and respectful comment, thank you so much for your kindness. The goal is to be fully apart of the life cycle - consuming, contributing and caring for the planet. Who knows, maybe I hid my own undies so he does a bit of boat work ;)
Look I luv ya show but 1: taking a poor Bearded Dragon on a boat is worse than putting in a zoo 2: Vegan is so out of date and unhealthy, how do you think we all got here? Our ancestors hunted animals to survive not going to the back yard to the veggie patch to survive. Look at our Indigenous people eat meat with minimal veg look how well they have survived!!!! Now pulling the WOMAN thing about getting your undies stolen!!!! Have you thought the other two women in the marina didn't have undies either and thought what a bargain I will score these saves me shopping or someone ran out of rags to clean shit up and thought this will do. Please just stop trying to put genders/vegans/environment against each other and just get on with the show and enjoy what you two excellent people are doing but just keep the POLITICAL crap out of it so everyone can enjoy!!!! LOVE Steve
hey mate, Sonya has the best life ever with us. No tank, she can roam wherever she wants whenever she wants. Most bearded dragons live their entire lives in a glass tank. Beardies are actually extremely curious and adventurous creatures, so we’re stoked that our beardie can fulfil her natural inclinations in sailing with us. The First Nations people ate meat, yes, but most of their diet consisted of gathered fruits, vegetables, herbs and roots - like yams. They ate from Country, whatever Country provided at the time. We think it’s important to tap into all of the the abundant resources that this earth provides with respect and acknowledgement 🤍 In terms of everything else, I hear what you’re saying! But if we can’t voice our opinions and experiences as humans on our own channel, then we’re just making robotic, stock standard content with no personality. That’s not the vibe here 😊 Thanks for watching though, we appreciate your feedback! - Phoebe
Oh Phoebe, so sorry that you are making this decision to stop being Vegan. Taking a sentient beings life when they want to live just like you is never justified. I have a friend who sailed for 30 years, circumnavigated and has been and is still Vegan. There is no justification ever, so dissapointed. I understand it must be difficult to be living with Josh who is not Vegan. Enjoyed your sailing channel, thanks.
You do realize you are about to get a ton of DM’s asking where your undies can be purchased at don’t you? The internet is full of weird people who pay thousands do that stuff. However, anyone who would pay thousands of dirty undies need their head examined, but also anyone who wouldn’t sell their dirty undies for thousands needs their head examined as well lol. Hell, go buy some and just make the look worn and sell the hell out of them and get all the upgrades you all want. Also, I have a feeling your Patreon is going to be these videos uncensored , and if that’s the case who ever thought of that is a marketing genius.
Hey mate, I have to be careful what I say on the internet about dirty undies but yeah… I might just stop there 😅 glad you’re enjoying the videos 😁 Josh
Not sure if you have watched Back to Basics adventures but they have some of the most Awesome spots in the top end.
Phoebe, Great helming and docking 👍
FYI - radical changes to diet can cause you to be sick, just as a person who suddenly becomes vegetarian can get toxic shock, likewise a vegetarian suddenly becoming a full omnivore can too, take it slowly and allow your body to adjust, becoming pescetarian first is a good approach 👍It's great to see you growing emotionally, you can grow some veg on the boat too, Mung bean sprout and Alfalfa sprouts are quite easy to grow on a boat in a small jar, and don't take too much space, and might help space out the time between provisioning runs

Cheers Ross, it means a lot for us to be able to use this platform to communicate with positivity things we feel strongly about. Appreciate the love mate.
I look forward to your videos. You do a great job creating them.
You tell a great story. Thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks Wayne, we are stoked to be able to share them. Glad you are enjoying the journey :)
Phoebe, great docking. We are shocked about hearing of the underwear thief!
Never met Greg but we loved the spot! Cheers mate :)
Nice meeting you Josh at the yacht club dock. Loving your channel keep em rolling cheers Tony
Likewise, Tony! Really appreciate you saying g'day (and not telling anyone how far north we are)
Hey kids, Phoebe mad respect for the decisions you have decided for your food journey, that cant have been an easy decision to come too.
Cheers :)
Love you guys - you crack me up - very endearing. Such an amazing moment transitioning from vegan. Big hug D x
Thanks for the love and support Donna. Glad to have you here :). Cheers
Aww thanku - we're from the Northern Rivers - kin! I'll definitely be here watching for as long as you are making videos - I laugh alot and just enjoy the freshness of your experience. Doing a lovely job you are x
Stella episode guys. Man cowboy was funny as hell! Go Phoebe trying the crab, that was a big moment.
Cheers Edmund! Yeah Cowboy was a bloody legend that’s for sure. It was certainly a big moment mate too right. Stoked to share it :)
Beautiful prayer for the crabby ❤
Great video guys, good luck with the new diet, take your time with the adjustments and enjoy the new flavours. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!!
I appreciate this a lot, mate! Thank you so much for your comment
Hi guys you're in my old stamping ground nice to remenisce saw at least a 20ft Tiger shark on my last trip from Wellington point to brissyy river, So don't go swimming mud crab bloody lovely cheers n beers Marty Qld
awesome! Duly noted re: water & sharks. Cheers mate
WTH! Did you find your crab pot? Why'd you leave us hanging for?
Cool fun great concepts in life and provision😊
Much appreciated, thanks for your comment!
Nice thoughts on food. For what its worth, I got Hypothyroidism due to going vegetarian. Specialists said it was due to glutens being the same as thyroid (Short version) we can only do what we can do. Still waiting for the home made baked beans/rice dish. That crab would of been off by the time they got around to eating it haha but nicely done Phoebe 🎉
Maybe that's why it was a bit fizzy ;) Thanks for watching, Jack!

Bro! You don't have you Riggers ticket? That'll help! Love watching you both!
Will definitely add it to the wish list, Steve. Cheers!
Prob aware but just'n -
Can make your own tofu, bit of work, but u have time.
Micro greens are very easy, requires little space, lots of variety.
Diy portable greenhouses from pvc stackable storage containers for larger (protects from wind, salt).
Cheers Lana! Phoebe is all over the sprouting now. What are some of your favorites to grow on board?
@sailinginnnerbloom I mix it up for variety, but favourites are, radish, watercress, sunflower, larger tubs I grow cos lettuce, spinach. Also have pots mounted inside under the windows for herbs.
Prob aware, but you could also breed woodies for the lizard in something as small as a chinese container.
Very beautiful young lady. Thank you from British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦
By saying, '... getting our rigging SUAGED, " do you mean that you're having inspection and repairs done, or is there a specific procedure by that name?
it's getting the fittings attached to the ends of the stays. swaging is kind like crimping.
@discord2000 is exactly right! Crimping the tubular stainless steel fittings onto the rig using high pressure. You'll see this demonstrated in our most recent video!
So glad Sonya got the Gold Logie. She makes the channel.
She really does, but we don't tell her because her head is already a little too big for her body ;)

Haha, 15:27... really, I get to buy Phoebe's undies and they're yours bro?! Now I feel violated. Unacceptable handballing of violation
Haha great comment mate you got a good laugh out of us 😬 cheers
well done girl

Watch your pots people steal them I use milk containers as floats people often cruise past think they are rubbish.ha hah
I have definitely seen this done! Good idea cheers Steve
Everybody becomes a carnivore when they get hungry enough.
I dont like mud crabs, way too strong each time we catch one ill try it but still prefer sand crabs ❤ love your baby listens, cant say that with my kids x safe travels you guys are awesome Jacinta (Mum)

Thanks for the love! It’s a trait I’m keen to kick and that is a great suggestion. Thank you kindly. Cheers, Josh
I knew vegan that didn't eat meat because he loved animals. But because he hated plants.
Your never going to catch huge fish around the coast.... Buy yourself the best rod possible when you get out to the great big blue.

And still animals eat eachother without any bibles for millions of years. Not 8000.
- Phoebe
Nice video - please don’t make the vegan eat animals…
Hey mate, I have to be careful what I say on the internet about dirty undies but yeah… I might just stop there 😅 glad you’re enjoying the videos 😁
Josh
Luke would off taken your nickers he wears that stuff
