Oooo! I always wanted to do that!!! I didn't know you could go on the island! You lucky guys! I can't believe that open water! I snowmobiled when I was in my 20's. We had a cottage at Houghton Lake so we went up every weekend for 5 yrs. Enjoying your videos!! I'm 68 now.. I have arthritis in my knees. I think I got it from snowmobiling cause my knees were always freezing. I'm subscribing!
Did this trip from home (Alpena area) a few years ago, it was pretty sick. I didn't know at the time they allow sleds to drive on the island, seeing sleds riding and parked on the streets like cars was pretty sweet.
I would have done it at night lived on lake that was over 40 miles long 10 wide and that’s how I road every winter bar hopping dinner breakfast what it it was loved the lakes
I don’t understand how it was so smooth for you guys I went across like a week before you guys and there was a mile long section of jagged ice shards. Also there were no trees or ranger charging me 5 bucks.
Good video, but you wouldn't catch me dead on a lake on a sled. The idea of the ice breaking is terrifying...100 ft or more of cold dark water to the bottom.... I've been to the island probably half a dozen times over the years, I'm a pilot, so we always flew in.
Vehicles are not allowed on the island except sleds in winter and they do have a airport in the middle of the island. In the summer your " trail" is a paved road all around the island. I've even seen some fools actually make it across from Mackinac city across the open channel the coast guard keeps for freighters in the winter. I've also seen it where the tree line was just hours from completely melting
We’re just kind of going slow you’re really ruining the trails the way you guys takeoff. A lot of hard work goes into keeping the trails nice. I’m not trying to be a jerk I’m just dropping a tiip
That’s exactly what it’s meant for. We talked to a couple different locals and they were all happy to see tourist there enjoying the island and spending money at their shops. Ask a local if you don’t believe me.
You just replied to a local! To further clarify. We dont like it advertised. Its primary purpose was/is for locals to access the mainland when needed & because we see anuf of our own die witch is why if you ask those with knowledgege your usual response will be "its never safe" . Its why you never see videos like yours or actual dvds and such produced by us. Please understand i dont say these things as hate tords your channel. Its just the safty issue & the losses of our own people that keep us from advertising it ourselves. Yrust me outside of that aspect of it we love the business.
I can still smell the exhaust from my Artic Cat and my Jag! I've been to Mackinac Island so many times I can't count! Never in the winter...

Looks like a great adventure. Thanks guys!
Thanks for watching!
My sled started over heating from me just watching this video with no snow.
The sleds did fine lol
Do this everyday in the winter for work. Good job
Thanks!
@@MichiganOutlaws it's a hell of an experience!

Yeah it was an awesome trip! You should definitely go over to the island when the ice bridge is open
I would have done it at night lived on lake that was over 40 miles long 10 wide and that’s how I road every winter bar hopping dinner breakfast what it it was loved the lakes
Cool video guys! Nice to explore some new spots!
Thanks! Definitely good to check out the new spots!
as someone who was born and reised here, I hope you had a blast
We had a great time! 👌🏻
Can't wait for the snow to fall again
Have you had any yet this year?
Cool we rode that same road around the island on our bikes ! It’s a beautiful place !
Hanging out with the boys
We did that ride Feb 6th 2022.
Always wanted to see Mack island , nice tour
We go up to the U.P. Every summer riding but going in the winter is definitely on my bucket list. Awesome video🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for watching! It’s a great trip!
You are very brave to go on that thin ice. Great video!
Thanks! It was a great day!
That ice isn't thin. It's prolly 2 feet thick. And the Xmas trees are put out every year to show a safe road to the island.
@@2913terry I meant the part where they went on the ice off of the shore.
Haven't been on the Christmas tree bridge in years, good times
Thanks for watching!
I’ve been across a bunch of times on a fat bike and XC skis. I might try it at night next time. Surreal no matter when.
That would be a good trip!
@@MichiganOutlaws At night when the northern lights are flaring up. Now THAT would be a lifetime achievement. But nearly impossible to hit.
Awesome video. Good vacation idea for winter
Thanks! Definitely a bucket list trip

Maybe the $5 made the ice smoother 😂😂
@@MichiganOutlaws totally worth it. That jagged shit was a pain in the ass
I lived on the Island for three years, I lost a very good friend that went thru the ice
Nice video i have always wanted to see the island in the winter. I went late fall once and really enjoyed it
Thanks! It was a great experience after only being there in the summer before
I love your content.
Thanks for watching!
That looks like a lot of fun! I would like to do that some day. I'm from Montcalm County middle of the state.
It was great, definitely worth the drive!
Nevins Lake, Montcalm County here. Our snow sucked this year downstairs riding
Love the vids guys
Thanks!
I’ve done that before

Only time I’ve ever been pulled over on a sled, MSP on the Island for not stopping at a stop sign 🤦🏽♂️
Excellent video
Thanks!
👍👍👍thumbs up best video I’ve seen in the last 6 months awesome stuff 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!!
Glad you had enough time to talk about the cover...any updates about that?

Cool video! Done some riding on the ice at Moosehead Lake in Maine but this is incredible!
This is Michigan you dout head
I go up there rip the backcountry by newberry seney and grand marais, lot of lakes and water to ride. Never did this trip yet though
Definitely a trip you have to do if you have a snowmobile in Michigan!
18:09 What the hell was the blue guy thinking he even looked back and saw the other guy coming
Blue guy speaking here - I did see Caleb coming but I though that he was going to park next to Jake 🤷♂️
Outlaws having jaws roudy can on sled that legal ride Michigan
I’d overheat and blow up my sled before I stop on that ice bridge.
It was a bit sketchy! lol
Black ice can’t tell if it’s an inch of a foot thick no snow = hit running sleds been there done that nice video
Thanks! It was clear enough ice that we could see some deep cracks but the sleds were definitely running warm
How far across ice is it?
I see people on bicycle. You guys should do it on bicycle ? Fun. Peace ✌️
What ramps you use to haul the sled in truck bed? Great video. UP has the best snow this winter
Thanks for watching! We got the ramp on Amazon from a company named Black Ice Snowmobile Products
It was warm a couple days ago. The trails are full of ruts and ice👎
My xp 800 would heat up real fast too, with no scratches on hard pack couldn’t go far lol
Yeah, wish there would have been more snow
Cool video guys! Burn any hyfax up? Snow looked a little thin.
Thanks! It was thin but we were all good
i gotta question what would have happened if all the ice just broke ?
If it broke up while we were on the island then we probably would have had to pay for a boat or something to take us and the snowmobiles back across
I’m a new subscriber I enjoy watching your videos I’m also from northern mi
Thanks for joining! Glad you enjoy them, we have a lot to watch through
1st. Looked like A Blast! How many miles rode? Would Quads make it, or are they not welcome?
It was awesome! It was probably around 25 miles or so because we went around the island twice. We didn't see any so I'm guessing they are not allowed
So how many miles to the island, really cool video guys, when did you ride this.
Thanks for watching! We rode this last weekend, pretty sure it’s about 4-5 miles to the island
Really cool I didn't even know this was a thing. I take it with all the snowmobiles that side by sides and quads are not allowed?
We never saw anything that said they couldn’t go but we didn’t see any there so we were guessing they aren’t allowed
How far you guys from Saginaw
You're only in a couple hundred feet of water if you go through the
Can you guys play a prank on Caleb
What do you have in mind? Lol

2 of them did but only for a second, not bad
@@MichiganOutlaws I have. Yahmma venture lit with a back seat on it I went out fishing on the bay and it started to over heated
Was there a charge to park your truck?
Nope

We were just kidding! 😂
What size trailer is that, sleds look to long to fit??
8.5x10’ it’s a very close fit lol
michigan Inlaws
Might want the scratchers down, just saying?
We were definitely using them
Watch out for the tax revenue officers!!!! Time to get robbed!!
I wont. I think it is cool
But i won' t do it. Haha. I

It literally a frozen lake, it’s not “meant” for anything 😂 the locals don’t have ownership or power over who can/can’t ride on it
