  • Discipling our kids is side-by-side work. It happens in the small, seemingly insignificant moments and it's something that takes a lot of time.
As moms, we have a big job on our shoulders to "tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord." (Psalm 78) Are we doing it well?

Even if you do not homeschool, this is such important information for all parents. Being a role model centered in Christ is the answer. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a convicting watch! Thank you for the reminder to be present and aware of the example we are to our children! I love what you did with your older daughters. I hope to do that with mine one day :)

Glad to hear this challenged you! Quite honestly, as I was making it, I was being convicted as well! It's something we need to be reminded of often I think.

I love the way you share honestly also about your own shortcomings and how you realized what matters most...as a mom just starting on this road of homeschooling and working less outside I'm so grateful for the advice you share, it's very valuable, thank you for walking this road and sharing to others so that we can do likewise.

Thank you! Yes, it is something I need to remind myself of frequently...to be present, engaged, and remembering the eternal perspective.

Yes, teaching them to focus on the good and not the bad and to be thankful with what we are given. God is in controle and provides. We as parents need to remind ourselves what a wonderful gift our children are, thank you God ✝

This is so important for me to remember, and this is now the third time this week that God has reminded me of this truth----being more present with my loved ones and/or Him, instead of being so focused on the serving of them all. Being a "Mary," instead of a "Martha." I fall so short every day, especially in the area of how I react to my children's repeated disobedience or arguing with me, or their seemingly constant bickering with one another (at times). I know I need to work on more consistent discipline to them for those actions, as well. And instead of raising my voice, calmly dealing with each need as it arises. It is all so much----but I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Our oldest has graduated this year, and it has definitely caused me to reflect on what's most important as well.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. I so appreciate your spirit, Sherry. Your children are blessed to have such a sweet, Christ-centered momma
