    You learn something everyday. This and MM's disassembly video truly blow my mind how ingenious the design is.

      Agreed! I fought with this one for a good 3 hours before I figured it out

    I just finished a mod on mine. What I've learned is that the bezel can be removed just like any other bezel (it has a retention spring) and then around the glass there are dimples so that you can unscrew the glass with regular case back opener.

    Great video! Helped with my Addiesdive my-h6 puck style watch. I had just about given up on being able to open it. Thank you again!

    I can’t tell if this is a genius design or not. When compared to the MM300 case, do you think this would be more prone to water failure due to the lack of a “wrench” tightening mechanism?

    • @JDLUDE
      @JDLUDE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my honest opinion I would say this would be more prone to fail and I would feel more comfortable with a my proxima MM300.

    Hi mate so the back of the watch doesn't unscrew? To get to the movement you have to unscrew the front?

    • @johnnyjohnny7204
      @johnnyjohnny7204 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the back unscrews, so you can remove the crown and regulate the watch, but to take it out you must remove it from the front.

    How water proof do you think that arrangement is, and would you be willing to swim with the watch?
    Great demonstration by the way 👍.

      Honestly I’d say 200m would be pushing it but you never know, I wish I could test it. Yeah I would swim with it but wouldn’t dive with it.
      Thank you 🙏🏻

      ILW2 - youtube channel pressure tested steeldive sd1952 (fifty fathoms) to 60m & passed. These steeldives are great value. Would love to see whole watch taken apart to see insides, Thx for great videos.
      Thx for the review

      Ponj k , great channel. The monoblock case construction should be better but only if you are tightening the gaskets down tight, not only just so far as to line up the indices. Still makes me wonder 🤔.

    How would you remove the movement as you would not be able to press the crown release from the front?

    • @JDLUDE
      @JDLUDE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This case has a case back that you can remove to access the crown release.

    Have you ever opened up an addiesdive diver 200m my-h3? I got a Seconds hand that does not hit the Marks. I was thinking of opening the watch and realign everything at the 12 o'clock.

    Did you replace the bezel spring? I opened mine and my bezel spring looks much different and is difficult to put the bezel/crystal assembly back on.

  • @paulinvader8428
    @paulinvader8428 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have one of these but find the bezel action a bit sloppy, any way of tightening it up?

    • @JDLUDE
      @JDLUDE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s sloppy the crystal isn’t fully tightened. Try to tighten the crystal with a rubber ball.

    • @paulinvader8428
      @paulinvader8428 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JDLUDE cheers, thought it was the spring but got the callipers on it and the crystal is a millimetre higher on one side so has not benn fitted correctly so now a ball will not unscrew it, I think it has been cross threaded

    Hi, I have a Steeldive SD 1978 Emperor Tuna, and I want to change the dial. The SD 1978 should be open with the same method that you showed? Thanks in advance!!!!

    What a size of chapter ring if i want to change it?

  • @chrisackerman19able
    @chrisackerman19able 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm guessing because you swapped the chapter ring, you're limited to how tight you can screw the crystal down (so everything lines up). If the markers are on the dial, you can tighten the hell out of the thing....or at least as tight as the ball will allow. I have a San Martin Iceball myself and wondering if the case opening procedure is the same.

  • @mjturnb
    @mjturnb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I successfully followed your method to access and change the dial on my puck mod. It came out great. But the 2nd "Puck" seems a different design and I could not get the crystal to move at all. I'm now trying another and it's also not moving. So, before killing the case, I thought it wise to ask if you have had this same experience. Like I said, my first try was just like your tutorial; but this and the last will not budge. Any idea?

    • @95z
      @95z ปีที่แล้ว

      We’re you ever able to get the second one open? I’m working on one and when I try this the crystal isn’t budging and the bezel is actually popping over the click spring so I hate to try doing that too much

  • @rono4176

    A normal Seiko dials fits that watch? I thought the dial it used was way bigger.

    • @JDLUDE
      @JDLUDE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah a normal Seiko dial will fit just have to use a turtle chapter ring.

    • @JDLUDE
      @JDLUDE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just pressure fitted in. I sanded enough off of the turtle OEM chapter ring to have it fit snug in there.
