    good video, i have a tip for you, the ends that stick out after a line that i see you cutting off, i recommend just pulling those out, they are not looped like the others so they are very loose and will come out easily even when glued, especially easy if you cut the ends so there is barely anything holding them in.

  • @jaybee1158
    @jaybee1158 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you ever overlay colors.? I’ve yet to seen anyone do it in a final design. To be more specific I’m saying if you layed 1 color down and right in the middle you decide to change a little bit of a color or you want to put lines in your pic? I’ve seen one chick showing her design and I’m not about leaving bad comments but it looked like shit and it was a subtle blend . So I’m just curious if u have or seen anyone do it and it coming out clean. I’ve seen enough videos of how others do there technique, there do’s and dont’s .. your video was the better I’ve seen so I decided to ask you…

    • @RhodyRugs
      @RhodyRugs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m trying to understand better. Do you mean blending colors to create gradients or do you mean something else?

    • @jaybee1158
      @jaybee1158 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RhodyRugs yeah that.

    • @RhodyRugs
      @RhodyRugs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaybee1158 so I had seen another creator do a pretty good job with gradients before but I don’t remember their name. But it’s a bit harder to accomplish because you can’t label it out easily on the fabric so you just need to eye it plus getting all of the right colored yarns can be difficult if you physically go to a store to look for them. But with the right technique and tools it’s very doable

    • @dingustime
      @dingustime 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RhodyRugs My frame is 6.5x5.5 and I have the same issue! If there's any way for you to lay the frame down while you're stretching the fabric, I feel like that would help a lot. Fortunately, I've found that after packing like, 7 different rugs onto the frame, there's so much dang yarn in there that it doesn't really matter. The lack of tension can make it a bit harder to actually tuft, but it shouldn't impact the final product (:

    • @RhodyRugs
      @RhodyRugs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dingustime actually in my most recent video “The Madara Rug” I mention this a little further and show that at the beginning the tension is great but slowly after tufting on a large frame the fabric becomes softened. Even stretching it with all my strength plus help, it managed to do that. But it really doesn’t effect the outcome as long as you do close lines :)
