Why not just ankle weights?
Ankle weights have less options. For example, a 25-lbs ankle weight is not realistic. And you can throw Monkey Feet into your gym bag as you travel to the gym. Lugging around ankle weights would get old in 3 seconds.
Compared to ankle weights, MonkeyFeet allows you to turn any standard dumbbell into a leg exercise. This means you can reach much heavier weights (up to 160lbs, compared to ankle weights that max out at 20lbs!). MonkeyFeet also allows you to seamlessly switch between weights when ankle weights are a hassle to put on and take off. MonkeyFeet is also light and much easier to transport to the gym/hotel/etc, and compared to a full ankle weight set is actually cheaper!
Rather than worry about “stabilization”, hold on to something and get measurably stronger in the area (hip flexor, hamstring) of focus. For the hip flexors we’ve learned that flexing the quad and glute on the planted leg (well, there’s your stability) is best.
