Spotify is shaking things up with their Spotify for Creators rebrand, and I’ve got thoughts. 🚀
In this episode of CLIPPED, I’m diving into the two big new features: vertical video clips and video podcast monetization on Spotify.
👉 Vertical Clips: Sure, it's great to see Spotify trying new things, but let’s be real-how many of us are going to scroll through short-form clips on Spotify when we’ve already got Instagram, TikTok, and TH-cam? That said, if Spotify’s algorithm is going to push shows that use this feature, it might be worth uploading a few clips just to stay ahead. Posting everywhere is never a bad move, especially if it means more eyes on your content.
👉 Monetization: If you’re a video podcaster who meets Spotify’s requirements (10K hours of listening and 2K listeners in the last 30 days), this could be a solid option for extra income. BUT… the 50/50 revenue split is rough. There are better deals out there, so weigh your options carefully.
