I grew up watching Jackie Chan. He's responsible for many of my sprained ankles, bad kness, and " I can jump that car" decisions . Thank you for the review. Can't wait to see more of his films on the channel.
"What better place to start than Rumble in the Bronx?" I agree! Especially since this is the movie that introduced me to Jackie Chan back in the 90s. Also, that little announcement at the end has me super excited for this summer. Damn good choice, Decker!
Dang man you didn't show the face the mobster made after he said " our boss is not white tiger".. Its one of the funniest scenes in all of Jackie Chan history. I firmly believe that.
HELL YEAH!!!! You’re the best man. I love your videos and happily wait for your uplands. Keep up the amazing work. Can’t wait to see you do your own movie one day.
Considering how crazy the late 70's and 80's were with martial arts, Zombies and NY films, the real question is : How da hell we didn't get a Kung Fu Zombies in the Bronx movie?
Jackie Chan broke his ankle on the hovercraft jump and finished filming the rest of the movie with a full cast on covered by a rubber sneaker. Dedication.
i didn't know how much that i needed The Summer of Jackie Chan until you mentioned it: you‘ve just improved the quality of life on Planet Earth quite significantly. Great review and (on behalf of humanity) i thank you.
I hope we get The Police Story series reviews! Def my favorite Jackie Chan series! I would also love love love a wheels on meals review! That is my favorite Jackie Chan movie period. Another great review Decker this is gonna be an awesome summer!
I remember watching this for the first time. I was 7 and my family was enjoying a steak dinner while we watched our first Jackie Chan film ever. This film made me an instant fan of all martial arts flicks.
The great thing about 90's hong kong cinema is that they more or less have the same cast in every film they make. Jackie Chan, Bill Tung, Anita Mui were literally my childhood.
I do know, Decker, there is also a movie called Woodchipper Massacre, but it's one of those where cheese is dialed up to 11... Thousand. 😉 But anyways, Summer of Jackie Chan, sounds like fun. I'm game for that.
Great review! I loved Rumble in the Bronx as a kid, though that scene where Jackie gets brutally beaten by all the thrown glass in the alleyway was so disturbing to me. Looking forward to the Summer of Jackie Chan!! :D
Ah, this brings so much memories. It's one of the first vigilante - one man army movies I watched. Also between this, Die Hard 3 and Seven, I feel like I went to New York already.
Nice, I've never been myself but from movies and games, it's oddly familiar. If I go someday, I wanna do the 360 view in Time Square like in Cap America or Heroes tv show, super chessy lol
This was a big request !! I wondered if you were going to do a few movies instead your showing up a whole summer! Way to go Decker !! Let’s do DRUNKEN MASTER (which one was the first one?)
Glad I watched the whole vid before commenting. As soon as you mentioned hating films having woodchippers and not using them I wanted to pause and recommend Tucker and Dale vs Evil XD
God the human characters had plot armor so thick they could take missiles to the face and keep going. The monsters where great but the plot was so thin u'll find the mistakes right around the redemption arc for one of the human leads.
I've gone on and on about how there are good character moments in the film and good reasons why some decisions in the film make sense in context however if you're watching a movie where a giant radioactive prehistoric monster battles an apex predatory 3 headed dragon and you're more interested in the actual plot, then maybe it's not for you
@@anthonyhudak9363 dude I've watched movies that atleast try but when ur main gadget effects the entire world without speakers until u need it not to...like I understand a mcguffen hunt but to force it that hard, besides the kid prob standing trial for mass murder, is just pointless. And if they bring her back and there's no trial, idc if u save the rest of people (even tho had she said something none of the story would of been n play) u would still spend either the rest of ur life n prison at best at worse a public execution, she would b found guilty for I'm not going to c it n theaters. Js there's absurdity and then there's come on. I just don't c the point n spending that kind of money when I could go to family video and rent it for a dollar and not fully support the movie because it didn't think people where smarter then dirt.

Im in New York at the moment. Such a fitting review to show up in my feed. My first Jackie Chan movie. He is so awesome. I feel bad for his body he puts it through hell.
I only came across your channel last summer (2021) so this will be my summer of coming up this year (2022) and I can’t wait to get that surprise at the end of the first episode, just when I think it’s over boom THE SUMMER OF…
The Summer of Jackie Chan got me to subscribe, NGL, brilliant idea my dude! I hope that weird one where he travels around the world with the english guy is in the list, it's got Arnold in it and everything, loved it when I was a kid.
Renting this was I believe my first introduction to Jacky Chan movies, and it left a very positive impression. And yeah, review Tucker & Dale vs. Evil already dammit!
Oh my GOOOOOOD, just watching the first few moments of this movie and so many scenes from Jackie-Chan Adventures just flew back into my mind. Granted, the whole series is one big 'SPOT THE REFERENCE!' series but when he's talking to his Uncle, the little training montage at the start, so much nostalgia! I really need to start investing in these movies! Not only are they just good 90s cheese, they're wonderful looks into Chan's work. Also, UNCLE LIKE 'EM THIIIIIIIIIIIICC!
i love how when ur describing any jackie chan movie, when he gets in trouble or comes to the rescue, it's nothing to do with his character or the story or anything, you just say "Being Jackie Chan, he must start fighting everyone" "He finds himself trapped, but luckily he's Jackie Chan so can easily escape"
Oh you mean the movie that has terra reads who steals eyes of young latino woman with magic am i wrong to saying ''toll you so'' very early or just to make our friend Decker not tell anyone about the 3rd movie has kristen dust in it that wishes her fan base in saying ''she was never in crow 3 you fool''.
Well thank you Tim McAndrew for the comment i bet you that Decker won't make pass one review without him going to paint he's face like movie character for the fans.
Thanks for doing this! I hope you cover more Jackie Chan in the future. Big fan here! Who Am I?(his best), Police Story, SuperCop, Twin Dragons, Drunken Master (both of them), Mr. Nice Guy, Operation Condor.

YES!!! so glad you are doing Jackie Chan stuff! hope there will be more!
Jackie could do no wrong in the 90s. Rumble is an action masterclass.
The way the guy just surrenders the moment jackie gets the wrench is hilarious.
at least you weren't doing a reviewing of a trilogy and they copywrited the second movie but not the first and third.
Not gonna lie, the wood chipper scene stayed with me as a kid because damn!
Same
I wouldn't watch the Silent Night remake then...
Because it’s grotesque right.
I love the end credits where it shows behind the scenes of the stunts and they show him putting on the painted leg sleeve to cover the cast. :)
"What better place to start than Rumble in the Bronx?" I agree! Especially since this is the movie that introduced me to Jackie Chan back in the 90s.

22:37 The second I saw the thumbnail I was waiting for Decker to say it. This summer just got better
I never knew the director *also* took that death-defying leap from building to building. What a couple of absolute legends!
Considering how crazy the late 70's and 80's were with martial arts, Zombies and NY films, the real question is : How da hell we didn't get a Kung Fu Zombies in the Bronx movie?
Just found your channel a couple of days ago alot of back catalog to get through but I'm loving your videos keep it up
A Critic with kick ass rocker air about him love this guy.
Jackie Chan broke his ankle on the hovercraft jump and finished filming the rest of the movie with a full cast on covered by a rubber sneaker. Dedication.

Summer of Jackie Chan. Nice! Hope you can include The Cannonball Run (even though he's only got a bit part).
Decker If your doing the summer of Jackie Chan might I recommend Police Story, Project A, City Hunter and The Medallion as possible movies to review.

God the human characters had plot armor so thick they could take missiles to the face and keep going. The monsters where great but the plot was so thin u'll find the mistakes right around the redemption arc for one of the human leads.
Jackie Chan wasn't in it though, so ... I guess not?

On a side note: Consoles used to have "in memory" games. Just look at Sega Master System.
That was largely limited to that generation, though. Turns out shoving a cartridge worth of ROMs on a system for a game nobody wants isn't worth it.
You might have the best hair... but you also have some of the best vids.
