    Another way of solving question given at around 15:20 minute: How to distribute n different toffees to n children such that one child doesn't get any toffee but rest all get at least 1.
    First distribute n toffees to n children (each child gets one) = n! ways
    Now, select two children in "n C 2" ways and ask one child to give his toffee to other. So that one has zero and other has 2. So total is n! X "n C 2". Now at this point, you should ask the question that since I can ask child1 to give toffee to child2 or vice versa, why we are not multiplying by 2? Think for a minute and then read on:
    There will be a permutation where Child1 get toffee t1 and Child2 get a toffee t2. Here there are two ways to give both t1 and t2 to one child and other child having none. But there will be another permutation where Child1 get toffee t2 and Child2 gets toffee t1 everything else remaining the same. And here also there are two ways to give both t1 and t2 to one child and other child having none. So to avoid repetition, there is no need to multiply by 2.

    Once inside the theme park, the children go on the roller-coaster. Each roller-coaster car holds 3 people.
    In how many different ways can the 8 children be divided into two groups of 3 and one group of 2 to go on the roller-coaster?

    if I apply the formula of Equal sizes the ans becomes 280. In which logic I can't divide by 2! ?

    Sir I didn't understand ki distribution ki waqt why do we just multiply with the required factorial. What is the explanation behind this?

    • @anubhavarora3282
      @anubhavarora3282 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think of division as filling the bags. For example, if you want to divide n things into 3 groups, it is like you have 3 bags and you are just filling them. Now, if you have 3 bags and you want to distribute to three persons, in how many ways can you perform that? It would be number of ways of filling bags times 3 factorial(just like you fill the places of a 3 digit number).

    Sir, i feel that the AIEEE that you had explained, had one some extra cases-
    The question was on ordered pairs of (Y,Z) which are disjoint sets in X= {1,2,3,4,5}. You mentioned the answer as 3^5= 243
    But, some cases when [X - (Y+Z)] set (set excluding Y, Z sets but still being a part of X) has different values but still (Y, Z) has same values are actually included in 243- will NOT form a part of the answer as we ought to report the ordered pairs of (Y, Z) ONLY.
    I would love to hear your insights on this query.

      Yes, 1,2,3,4,5 should be a either in Y or Z they cannot be out of it as per question so 3^5 is confusing, and Y intersection Z is zero, so we cannot have (1,1),(2,2) etc.1 can go to either Y or Z not to out of it even if in X. If 1 goes to X then cannot be in Y. (1,2)(1,3)(1,4)(1,5)(2,1)(2,3)(2,4)(2,5) etc 20 options , is it correct !!!. 30.40 odd
