There was another one about two years ago, CA (of course), where the tow truck driver saw what was happening, and acting entirely on his own, managed to stop an stolen ambulance by getting ahead of the vehicle and deploying the bar and hooks (or whatever they use to lift and haul vehicles). Yeah I wouldnt try that if I was a truck driver. There is a chance you dont make it and actually block the cop cars and give the getaway driver a window to get away.
@ Point being if the truck is too slow to block the RV but and still moves when the cops try to pass, it would at worst have to reverse again to let them through.
@mjuzick-f4sgood thing it’s a slow as fuck rv that wouldn’t get away even if that did happen 😂 not to mention they would just go on the grass on the right side. Nice try better luck next time
There were actually TWO tow trucks in the pursuit, but the second one didn't move up to risk his rig knowing insurance won't lift a finger to aid those who assist police in stopping crooks. That's because insurance are crooks, too. Gotta look out for their own.
RV is actually a lot lighter than you expect. It's not built solidly like a city bus. But it has dual rear tires which gives it 4x the traction than a car so it becomes nigh on impossible to rotate with a PIT. Also, it's a lot longer requiring a far greater rotational action to spin it out so, even if the effective weights are similar, it's far too much for a four-wheeler to PIT. A bearcat could, maybe.
This second one was so hard to watch. Those poor dogs knew to get away from that lunatic. I'm so glad she got 8 years but she should have been charged with attempted redrum.
Usually Ford Fusions and Chevy Malibus are for detectives and not meant for the streets like normal cop cars are. I always figured those were just normal fleet models with lights and sirens added; but turns out ford does offer the “Ford Police Responder” which is a Fusion Hybrid with 181 hp. Apparently the interceptors are rated for rear impacts of 75 mph and the responders are rated for just 55. I’ve still never once seen a fusion cop car IRL with the exception of New York City.
Because they're absolute fools. It could be stopped by identifying where the engine is (front or rear) and getting squads in position to start putting holes in the engine. No engine = no go. Which is pretty much why the Chevy Nova flopped in Mexico.
It seems that maybe the cops need lessons in defensive and offensive driving. Trying not to be critical, but damn, that took way to long to come to a conclusion.
First one, every single one of those cop cars have to drive thru everyone's immaculate yards. Maybe they could cease the pursuit and saved that motorhome ? I hope the owner had the left insurance
