    This brings back memories of my first job out of college five decades ago, when I had to travel 50% of the time out of Atlanta's old airport. I had repeated nightmares about when my Eastern flight couldn't get airborne. The pilot just kept taxiing past the end of the runway and drove the plane to Spartanburg.

    It's too bad that back in the 1960s when the DC-9-10 (the Baby Nine) came out, there was no video capability. I was on a Hawaiian Airlines Baby Nine in 1967. What a ride! I say that because I was aboard a Douglas DC-6C and we arrived in Honolulu the day before we flew to the big island on the DC-9.

    Well, I can see the inbound crew isn't big on using after landing checklists. Aircraft is parked at the gate with the flaps out. That IS on the MD-88 checklist...

    Nice! Might be flying Frontier from KBUF-KMCO and back on thier A321-200 in the summer. Also Delta has their A330-900 neo now, so ride on it when it releases... lol it seems like you always ride on a plane every second

      I do my best to fly on the new aircraft as soon as possible. The wide bodies are harder though since they are often time only on international routes. Remember, I pay for all of the flights you see out of my own pocket. We'll see what happens! I'm trying to book something on American's new A321 NEO right now. Thanks for watching my friend!

    SP, Well guys i've been a subscriber to your channel for awhile now, and i do give it a thumbs up because my son and i love air planes, the only thing that can surpass the planes, is train's, we're glad Delta is still flying the mad dogs. These old bird's are nearly indestructible, they will still fly if you lose half of your electronics, and your hydraulics system's. To me there bullet proof.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are still flying them, but only for a short time. Delta has recently announced their retirement schedule for both the MD-80's and MD-90's. Soon they'll be gone from the Delta fleet as well. It'll be a sad day when they are all gone from the skies. Thanks for watching my friend!

      SP, I'm sure you guys n gals have heard the news. Boeing has a new beast making the scene" the MAX 10 " the question is, does it have the old MCAS, or has it got the new updated version? Now has Boeing's reputation been smeared due to it's MAX 8 situation? Will the world wide Airlines buy it, yes please i'll take 10 of them right now, yeah i wish i might have enough to buy a couple of tires maybe. Would you fly on the MAX 8 or the New MAX 10. Me in a New York second! If it crashes i would die grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for the like.

      Any plane is bulletproof, regular gun bullets can't do shit against a plane's fuselage. I get what you're saying though.

    Boeing loves the JT8D engines because they were also used on the Sister aircraft the DC 9 and the 737-200 Combi

    • @sla31

      Skylite Productions Yep their being phased out. Allegiant took them all out of St.Pete and that's one of their busiest hubs. But I have two flights coming up from Tampa to Baltimore with a stopover in ATL. Both my flights to and from Baltimore to Atlanta have the MD 88. I'm leaving July 12th to the 14th. That's a total of 4 times I will be on the MD 80 in a week.

      Delta is a nice airline. Kinda pricey. I'd stick to southwest

    • @sla31
      @sla31  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Delta is fine. Honestly they are all pretty similar these days. Especially Delta, American, and United. Southwest is kind of its own deal. And then Frontier and Spirit are very similar now. I typically fly American since they have the best options at my home airport, but I'll gladly fly Delta anytime. Thanks for watching guys!
