Retreading tires for big trucks isn’t the problems. The biggest treading problem is overloading the trailers. Too much weight put a great amount of stress on the tires. The best cheapest solution is reducing the weight carried or adding additional axles with more tires to support the weight. Best of luck with these vlogs. Thanks for posting. Education never stops!
Thank you for the information rich tutorial on how truck tires are retreaded. This not only saves valuable resources by using the same casing several times but saves the trucking companies a lot of money. A lot of research went into automated machine production, very impressive, the end product is high quality tires.

Not worth the savings if u get one blowout on the highway in summer. And recaps are Guaranteed to blowout or delamination in heat. It's a loose loose situation
You must be running the wrong pressures or overloading, I drive a unit with 32 tyres, run recaps on all but the steerers, over the past 17 years blowouts have been very rare and I've only had one delaminate.
I worked for the highway Dept. For alot of years I think retread tires should be banned!!! They don't stay together and the peeled tread causes a traffic hazard
That's why ON EVERY AUSTRALIAN HIGHWAY ALL YOU SEE ARE old treads polluting our highways ,I would NEVER USE RETREADS. ON ANY OF MY VEHICLES.ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT.
200 tons mining trucks, planes like said in the comments here too have retreads You see treads on the highways because tires are not inflated properly and just fall apart.
Andy bought one set of retreads with our own good casings, had more flats and peeling with in the first yr. We've run all new Firestone on drives and Bridgeston on front and I've never had a flat or a tire blowout in 15yrs
@@VaIhalIa I agree with you Andy I was lucky to manage the 1st Bandag factory in New Zealand I help to install the plant with Australian Frank Walker of Bandag Au. in 1975.I claim to be the best vulcanologist anywhere I was the 1st to retread solid industrial tyres the 1st to retread rimless tyres the 1st to vulcanize rubber to metal using Bandag system the 1st to repair tyres using my own invented curing bag and vacu-patch .Andy you are exactly right when you say driver responsible for most tyre damage a survey in Au. from Brisbane to Melbourne clearly showed new tyres were worse than retreads.

By the time a tire is low on tread it usually is sun dried too so this doesn't make sense to me
I think that is what the gum layer at the end is for. God bless you, and if you have time, please check biblegateway.com for free Bible access. This is the most important thing in life, to trust Jesus Christ with your salvation, Amen and I hope you find Him.
How long does it take to get sun dried? A double shifted line haul truck can do over 300,000km a year so a tyre will last 4 months max.
Life has no guarantee by using this type of tyres
If retreading works so well, why are the highways littered with truck tires that came apart?

You're honestly better off getting new tires. Wouldn't want to risk a blowout
Safe?
Of course

New tires are just as likely to blow out as retreads. Under inflation and overloading are the chief causes of failure.

No way are retreaded tyres as good as new, i would never trust them, seen too many accident and crashes as a result of blown retreads.
Good retreads do exist but these have just a new tread glued on the carcas. I would never use these.
