How Hot Retreading Technique Used to Change Tyres Treads || How Old Tyres Resoling Process Are Done

- The Hot retreading technique uses a mold in which they are heated above 150 degrees Celsius. This technique is used when you need to get the right shape of the tires. By vulcanizing tires at almost 150 degrees and upwards, it is possible to essentially change the threads and tire shape, and this is what Hot Retreading aims to do.

Honesty I was not expecting how good the final result is. Very nice, brothers...

No glasses, boots, hello 👋 no boots respirators I worked pretty crazy but let's not get stupid
WOW....I've never seen a retread done like that. Fantastic. Thank you for posting.

My dad, back in the 50's and 80's used to work for Davis & Myers, in San Francisco, who did this kind of retreading. As long as it is done properly, the tires come out of the process as good as new. I used to get nice cheater slicks from them for my car when I went racing. Most used tires can be retreaded as long as the tire is not worn down to the cord plies, and has no major defects. Small punctures are usually fine. These guys obviously have lower standards than D&M had.
Some things to note are, Roads are pretty tough and speeds don't exceed 40mph, probably averaging 15-20mph. You don't get any better life buying a new tire, also the poor quality roads mean the risk of an irreparable tire burst is too high even with brand new good quality tires. Its just not worth buying new every time and I can attest to that fact from personal experience. But I also wish retreading standards were higher.

Used to buy retreads in high school for my 55 chevy
No, I thought it was not good because it was a retreaded tire, but I was very surprised to see the final completed tire. You are truly technologists. The best!
Technologists ,, wahh,what a compliment,,
you deserve more appreciation for your comment then their work. 😂😂
In 1975 I was driving from Miami to upstate NY and had my 4 brand new Firestone 721's treads pass me on the highway. Pulled into a Firestone they replaced all 4 and sent me on my way. Happened again in Charleston SC so I stopped at a place called Gerald's Recap Tires. Those recaps lasted me over 50,000 miles. Can't complain but I've never found another recap tire place as good.
Good job it looks good as a brand new tyre from the factory up up
Nice, theyre saving space for another scrap to be thrown. Theyre helping people too particularly who cant afford newly created tires, its way more expensive than brand new created tires. Good for short distance commuter vehicles.
Nothing wrong with retreading tires, at least they are not going on the scrap pile ( not yet anyway ) airplane tires get retreaded up to eight times after being xrayed for defects so IF it is done properly they can serve a longer life, i imagine tires in such countries as this get a hard life, over loaded, BAD roads etc etc!!
ة
They also get driven around at 15-20mph max so it's relatively safe.
Good for the environment too
Would seem like a good idea as long as your not going 70 mph with a heavy load but on most dirt/semi paved roads in a lot of asian countries they should do a decent job.
Nice work. These mexican dudes really know tire repair.
Hell, they've got a fire extinguisher on the wall, seems legit to me!
And sandals on their feet!
Those tires - is direct way to heaven.
Then probably you don't know anything about retreading a tyre.
If those people have white skin doing same job. Then your comment will be totally opposite.🤦♂️

Fanstastic work 👏👌 thanks my friend👍
Excellent job, I would actually run a set of those on my truck
I ran them for years! Occasionally you get a bad one. But they’re fine!
Besides grinding through the fabric of the tyer base, which is a terrible idea, the process is impressive. Not sure I'd trust my life on them though.
Great hard working engineering...
Nice work but what about the sides? How can replace the sides?
Don't these need a new layer of thread/wire/belt too? I saw a bunch of spots where they ground away quite a lot of the nylon. Asking as a layperson here.
Otherwise, good work. Saving a lot of resources VS making a whole new tire.
Tôi sợ hết hạng sử dụng mà làm gai mới lại không ăn toàn
They repaired them from the inside, it should be fine. The pressure from the tire pushed the repair rubber into hole, and the retreader heats the entire tire to merge the repair with the tire.
@@BuceGar it look like 💩
@@BuceGar You clearly have no clue how tire belts work
Great job guys 👍
If the tires are different sizes for the final tread machine do they adjust it or what do they do to fit?
Çok güzel, emeğinize sağlık 💐
Parabéns belo trabalho. 🇧🇷
Back in the 70s it was easier to get a recap than a new tire.
the spirit, sir, the video that is shown is cool
That was excellent
Ready for the Daytona or Talladega 500. You have to see/experience the recaps on Interstate 65 to get the full experience.
65 runs through my city. What stretch is the worst IYO?
Actually, I used to work on trucks, the failure rate of recaps is hardly anymore than virgin tires, every tire, except steer tires on over 95 percent of the large trucks on the road are recaps. Average truck has 18 tires think of how many thousands of trucks pass through in a 24 hour period, plus most have been damaged or ran low in air.
Respect
Imagine trying to get these balanced.
Good job
How much is a tyre that requires so much work?

I like how the employees all got new shirts, kinda like we had pizza parties and "heroes work here" posters. Of all the video's i have seen of these retreaders, these gentlemen seem to do extra steps and with better quality tools. The plies looked like nylon, rather than steel. I believe they have a good product, all things considered.
how much does it cost to get a tier repaird liked this comperd to buying a new one? Becouse it looks like its alot of work and alot of materials going into repairing tiers
if you have an old tyre and want to retread , then it ld be around 40-50$ while the a brand new ld cost 100$. But buying a new retread tyre would be around 70$ i guess.
Super works
This tire would cost 13 grand in the US for parts and labor.
Whaaaat really ?
Lets go full China
Looks good, but I wouldn't buy it. Drive down the street and the glued on tread falls off. How old are those tires? As always, no safety gear.
Never will can balance that tires 😂😂😂😂
Yea want to try these out as 100 mph
While these are probably OK for slow moving town driving, I wouldn't risk it over 30mph.
The side walls may have internal damage and may have been driven flat. They could blow out at anytime.
I want to connect with those workers please
I wish the were available in the us I do see to many people driving in the snow with bold tires maybe they can't afford new ones I don't know there situation but the retread the tires are better than the bald ones the constantly they buy from used tires stores people getting hurt here in Illinois with bad tires and driving too fast on the snow
GOOD
Is that safe?
good jobs

Very impressive indeed. I had no idea this was possible. I wonder why they don't do this for passenger tires on cars and light trucks?
Up to about 30 years or so ago remoulds/retreads were common in the UK for cars. However as new tyres became less expensive in comparison to the remoulds they dropped out of consideration. There were also far more not bad new tyres from lesser known companies imported that probably replaced the remoulds. However in the UK the industry was far more automated with better equipment than shown here.
I have retreads on my pickup' nothing wrong with them at all.
vai i need the number of the factory... i want to buy the machine...i am from bangladesh

Protection of tyres gulies
The tire is old and dry rotted so all your really doing is retreading a rotten tire and the sidewall will blow out with heat and load. Very dangerous.
Not so true. Here in Uganda, these are highly sought after tires because their cost is half the new one and yet they give similar mileage to new ones
