Hello Devon, what a beautiful job you did, no clutter simple home with all the amenities, may i ask off the cuff, what mic and camera did you use when making this video, thank you in advance....I subscribed and liked by the way.
I don’t usually comment but I am officially a fan after watching this video. No fluff no excessive talking no dreams sold. Hey look this is what it is.
I respect how you made this and will be following 🤟🏾
I appreciate this. Means a lot especially from someone who doesn't normally comment.
Devon, I am blown away by the amount of planning and sweat equity you have put into this build! Glad to see that you are thriving!
Thanks! Yeah, people definitely underestimate how much planning does go into even just a little tiny home. Things are well though! I'm gonna go take a nap, this video took me all week to put together. 🥱

Doing the Lords work here 👏🏻
I thought the price was insane but when you realize half the cost is basically the porch and the sauna, the house doesn't seem so bad but the porch and the sauna OMG. I'd be interested to hear what you would do differently
@@Rays_Bad_Decisions in the processes of making a video about this.
Congrats bro I’m so blown away. It came out amazing and you knocked it out of the park for that price. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! I'm so stoked with how the build turned out!!
Thanks a ton dude!
This is awesome! Been following your journey since the pacific bin built and you’re growth is truly inspirational. Looking forward to see your future projects!
Thanks for following along! It's been a fun journey. As for next projects... you should see the land I just walked. It's epic!
Amazing man. So well thought out and incredible you did it yourself.
Only things I would change if I did it myself is putting geotextile fabric under the gravel driveway and using a Trex type decking for lower maintenance and splinters. But I understand sticking to the "Cedar Hollow" theme. Good job.
I honestly would have loved to use a timber tech or trex, but that easily would have added 20k to the already expensive deck. Also, I thought about using a fabric under the gravel but I like the idea of have the middle of the driveway having moss and low growth things on it. Adds to the natural feel of the forest. :)
Thanks for taking the time to post this and share costs. I mean it. Thank you! 🙏
Impressive!! So glad I came across you channel. Very generous to offer your plans at such a low cost. Thanks for your sharing your hard work!
Of course! Yeah, the goal is just to provide as much value to yall as possible. Hopefully the plans help you out!
Been waiting for this video and it lived up to the hype! Love your content, Devon!
Hahaha so glad it lived up to the hype. This took me sooooo long to edit!
I would put radiant barrier over thr crawl space foam. If it catches fire, the vapors are very toxic and will go up into the home.
turned out amazing!
you're an impressive guy Devon.. build + content = amazing.. glad I found your channel
I appreciate that! Glad to have you as a part of the fam. 🤘🏻 many more vids to come
Looking forward you building Cedar Hollow !!, Congratulations your original build.
You and me both!
This is exactly the video I've been looking for. Thanks. I will buy the plan as soon as I find the land to deploy
Glad it was helpful! Just a heads up there's only a few codes left, so you'll def wana get them sooner then later or they'll go up a little bit.
Love this! Congrats Devon!
Thanks!!!
Amazingly done 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Congratulations on this, very impressive!
Thanks!! I love how it turned out!
Can you make a video about all the management details? How you manage, cost and fees of cleaning, etc.? To give an understanding of gross vs net profit?
Incredible!! Your place is gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing the numbers. We built a 423 sq ft flower pot and had a very similar cost to build.
That's cool to hear we are in line!
Yo Devon, you are such an inspiration to me bro. It is so cool to see what you are creating. Love the builds and hope to stay in one some day
I appreciate it tons! Yeah, it's a ton of work but hopefully someday it will pay off 😅
Love the vids keep it up ep 2
Thanks!!
Beautiful. I love it.
congrats , man! that will be a good income producing property for you!
Bought the plans, thanks!
Stoked for you! You gonna build it?!
Wow! I love it!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Devon, thanks for sharing, you are incredible doing all of this alone., the design and amenities is top level, and your hard work deserves pay off. The cost break down sharing is so helpful for me, the frankness get appreciated here❤
I hate when people aren't real with their numbers, so I figured I'd just be insanely blunt with it!
@@devonloerop You inspired me, I want to do a customize home too😀
I love this place!
Thanks! A lot of thought definitely went into it.
The amount of money, time and efforts taken to build this home is extraordinary. If you could hire someone to do most of the works, the total cost could double.
Absolutely beautiful property!! And kudos to you for your hard work. One thing I notice that isn't being done a lot in tiny homes is a vent from the kitchen area to the outside. If you want to truly live in a tiny home, you need to be able to vent kitchen odors outside. Just my thoughts...
Very true! I must have missed talking about it. The fan under the microwave actually does vent to the exterior. Ventilation is key.
Ok, I guess I'm hip to the right colors before watching this video...I built out my master closet and sprayed SW7008 Alabaster Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel....love it.
Ayyyyyy! Smart man 👊🏻
It's crazy you're not at 100k subs yet.
That's my goal by the end of the year! 🤞 help make it happen!!
This is a wonderful spot. I’m glad I won a free weekend getaway here!
Excited to host you!!
What a great result! Thank you for sharing! If there was just one luxury amenity exclusive for the Cedar Hollow that would be a must have for STR, which would it be?
Hands down the sauna! I love that thing!
Love it !🎉
Thanks!
Great job!!! You wont need a 9 to 5 job making that kind of money. Bravo.
We'll see how much longer I can handle it 😅
Omg I love love this
Ice framing job. I would have used 6X6” for peers.
Beautiful place💞💞...
Thanks so much! The forest really just make the home.
That's really cool
thanks!!
I love the sound proof bathroom 😂
As soundproof as a recording studio 😂
If you cut all the frill. The hot tub. The cedar. And more, this place could be built and still have nice interior aspects for half the cost.
The frill is what allows him to rent it for $500/night
@@juliansecomb3703 I am disputing that. I simply was saying. IF. Someone wanted to build such a home, it does not need all those extras.
i love this build and your channel. you rule.
also i love that idea for a first date, rent an airbnb in the wilderness
Thanks greg! Haha you get my point 😂 not first date 😅
@@devonloerop haha i know just teasin. really looking forward to the detailed build!
The home is seriously impressive and being able to rent it for a average of $520 a night is just as impressive…
Yeah, feel super blessed. But also it's a really cool experience and guests are loving it!
Amazing Job Devon! You deserve all the success. What color / sheen did you use for your trim and doors to go with the alabaster walls?
I actually used the same, makes touch up way easier! :)
This is exceptionally done, however I would have loved to see some nicer shelves in the closet. Nonetheless great work!
Wait a minute did I miss the tour video?? I didn’t realize it had been completed !
Yeah, go back a few videos!
I actually comfused why u dont have more Klicks, feels like Ur shadowband.
Qualität ans content is amazing
Idk either, it's also only been day 1. Maybe give it a couple weeks 🤷🏼♂️
LMAO, I can relate to the bathroom issue and not trying to let the other person here the kerplunks and toots....lololololol
Kerplunks 😂
Hayi I’m good in South Africa, all of that similar in pricing to a 3 bedroom house, here at home in a respectable neighbourhood.
Wow I didn’t even realize you built it yourself as well great work! I love videos like this I’m a numbers freak! Do you also have videos about advertising or just software you use for payment or communication and how that stuff works thanks!
Hmmm maybe I should make a video explaining this
This is really good. Which I could get something like this for myself 😅
What if I tell you your dreams can be achieved
How would that be possible. My earnings is enough to support my daily basic living, addition expenses like this can’t be….😂
I’m also interest….I want to be more financially free
It's always good to have a fin-plan, I worked with a professional planner, multi-market and fixed-income strategist, the fixed income portion of your portfolio won't simply serve as a buffer to the volatility of the equity portion of your portfolio but will
provide a legitimate income.
@@DavidHardman-ew3gji don’t really understand could you explain further 😅
Your drywall came out great because you did the framing. Did you find that roughin measurements for doors are actually way too big when you square and plumb your framing?
Still not bad though. Awesome build.
Your sweat probably doubles the cost. I bet if I buy the plans and ask contractors in Hudson Valley it will come 3x at least. Massive kudos man!!🎉🎉🎉 You deserve all the profits
I'd be curious what a contractor says it would cost. I'm with ya, I think easily double. Let me know if you do end up snagging the plans and get a bid on it.
We challenge you to build a home with our galvanized steel frames and see the difference in time and cost.
I need a bathtub luv!❤
Really great job.Wish I could afford to buy the plans, know ahead of time that they would help build my son’s tiny house. Ah well… at least I have companies in the area that regularly hold auctions for building materials. Actually already have all the windows, doors and sinks, plus the in-wall portion of a wall mounted toilet for his tiny house and our home to be built later and paid less than $5000
Ahhh bummer! Well they'll be there on my site if you need them. They definitely would
Help a bit. The codes will most likely be gone in a few days but feel free to shoot me an email if you do change your mind. Best of luck on the build!
@@devonloerop will do 👍
@@devonloerop plus I’ll be paying extra close attention to your next build 😜
Would be cool if there was an additional version of these construction plans with one additional bedroom/bathroom to make it a little more livable. Any idea what part of the home would be best to have that bedroom added on?
I actually had another design, that pretty much just copies the bed/bathroom portion behind the kitchen area to make for a master suite. If you snag the plans you'll totally see what I mean. You'd hardly have to change anything just extend the length of the structure and boom you have a 2 bed two bath Cedar hollow.
@@devonloerop okay thank you! Great work by the way. Long live the PNW!
So you did pretty much all the labor ? If you used contractors, how much would labor cost in your area ?
Easily double.
I'm curious about the anchors that support building foundations. What's the load-bearing capacity and strength of those anchors? It seems like the bolts (in the pillars) would wear down over time, but I'm sure there's some engineering data that shows the load and strength of those anchors in action. Can anyone share some insights or info on this?
The construction plans show all of the load specs and specification for the anchors. Which they are a slightly different variant in the construction plans vs what I used but mine are well within load tolerances.
Do you run into any issues with permitting doing this work yourself vs a contractor? What kind of challenges do you run into doing this as an owner/builder?
what industry do you work in as your day job?
Love the videos and just interesting in what you do!
I work as an engineer! Thanks for watching the vids :)
How much would this have cost if you got everything outsourced minus the equipment itself? Can you please share link to this property on airbnb?
For the SW7008 Alabaster interior, did you use flat, satin or egg shell?
I use flat because it looks better in photos imo but for longevity I'd probs recommend satin finish.
Amazing work, you have inspired me and im going to buy your plans! How much did you pay for the land?
I bought my just under 5 acres for $160k 3 years ago! Awesome, I cant wait to see you build it!
skylights imo are a bad choice...they always end up leaking from my experience working for a home inspection company for awhile...every inspector there too (some of them working the industry for 60yrs) also said the same thing just a fyi
If skylights if installed correctly right they work great. They should be reviewed after the roughly 20 year lifespan of the roof and reworked if needed. Skylights are amazing for natural light in a home.
Very impressive. Especially with what seems like little experience. How many hours of labor did it take you?
Idk exactly but I built this in 6 months, and did it on the side while I work a full time job.
Excellent work Devon! Do you still work as a full time engineer? Also, the editing is really good! Do you do the editing yourself?
Still working as a full time engineer😅 it's getting to be a little much at points but it helps to fund all of this crazy build stuff so I don't have to take on debt. I also full filmed and edited this video. This one took a while.
@@devonloerop Dude again really nice work. Doing all of that is actually extremely impressive and I am here for it!
how much permits and all paperwork 😮
I just spent 3 months building a 24'x40' garage with a 400 sq ft apartment for about 30k hooked up water tonight. I do all the work myself also. How Long did it take you? I'm starting another small house soon.
Took me about 6 months! Good luck on your project!
What was the price for the land to build the property on?
What permits do you need to build this in Washington state?
What about the cost of the architect, engineer, permits and inspections?
$8k
I'm concerned about that I think you haven't talked about the property cost (if I didn't miss any part). So how much your property cost was actually, and how to buy property like place you have sown in this vid?
However, your content always inspires us. ()East Asia()
$160k for the land
amazing!
That is still so expensive. Our system is broken
Where did you order the Birch wood flooring from?
I got it from floor and decor! Great prices
Hi very beautiful , is there any way you can build one 700sq ft for a family of three with a panic room per say 😳
Yeah! If you snag the plans, you'd see how easy it would be to extend (and the area right under the living space would be great to add a hidden panic room 🤫)
Ceda 360
:)
Your rental income numbers are net of all expenses/
Sorry, forgot to say that these numbers are gross. Expenses are about $4k conservatively.
Damn I was way off in regards to the estimated Budget I had in mind.
Think it was higher or lower?
Where is that bedroom fan from?
Hunter fan company on Amazon.
They’re beautiful tiny house love the design, I definitely can shave off around 50+k
How would you shave $50k 🤔
In my area, I would do concrete rather than post and pier, also I wouldn’t use a lot of quarter minus rock, I would eliminate
the cold plunge, sauna, and buy a two person hot tub.
@@808kto ahhh got it, I thought you meant you could keep everything as I built it and still save $50k
I’m tempted to go with the deck style, but in Hawaii Everything is 2xs more expensive. gotta do a side-by-side comparison with concrete slab and deck.
Dang I'm early
Welcome!
i would like it twice if i could
what is the best air port to fly into to get there?
The world needs more people like you Tyler 😂
Seattle Tacoma international airport! :)
but how much was the land?
The land cost me $160k for just under 4 acres
@@devonloerop how much equity do you think you have know? id say you are in the 7 figs?
@@devonloerop I shopped that area in Washington about 10 years ago. Back then you could buy a pretty nice house for not much more than $140k, and land was way less.
If it didn't leak in a Washington winter, it will never leak. Can you tell me the dimensions on this build?
It's 16x32 roughly
@@devonloerop Thank you.
How much for the land?
160k
That place cost $500 per night. Dyam.
This doesn’t seem up to code??? Someone prove me wrong!
There are engineered plans
So June 15k / 30nights = 500$ a night, hmmmm....
Yessir, that's not net of expenses though.
Under 5 grand for the driveway doesnt make sense. With equipment rentals? Yinz know a guy....
3 days of rental total = $1k
as soon as i saw the overbite and jawline i knew he'd have a tesla charger
blatantly fake rental numbers btw
You seem fun
That was really rude. What could your purpose be for that besides having really low self-esteem.
Lol, I'm watching another of your videos right now😊. Great content. Thanks for all the hard work you put into educating others.
