  • In this video I'm still plugging along on the Baja Trailer. But I show you what I've done so far and show you how I installed the tongue jack.
    Here's a link to my shared folder with trailer specs.

    On several trailers that I own I have run a peace of 1/2 PVC pipe from front to back as a electrical conduit to keep wires out of the weather and direct sunlight. 7 wire cable with flat plug is great for that future double axle setup with brakes. Just my 2 cents. I know your way ahead of me on that stuff :-)

      Multiple Baja's and multiple trailers? You're like a fleet owner Mr EZGZ. lol The PVC conduit is a good idea, thanks.

    You might do this now for a few dollars. Not sure how long your gas holds out. But one of my next videos is going to be hiding a under mounting gas tank with a small electric pump from a car.
    under my trailer for extra gas. For thanks giving weekend at Glamis sand dunes!

      Like an auxiliary fuel cell for the tow vehicle or towed vehicle. That's a cool idea. 👍

      Doug Bug I Purchased a fuel cell from a 2016 Toyota Corolla yesterday with the fuel pump still in it. Paid $25 at the recycle yard. It will fit beautifully under my trailer in the center in front of the axle where it is safe.

    I like the jack placement is if you lose the pin for any reason it won't fall down until you want it down

      Yeah, didn't even think about that. But you're right.

    G'day Kevin from Australia.
    Thoughly enjoying watching your shop evolve. All so the trailer looks like you could land a plane on it or maybe a low flying baha. ✌

      Thanks bud, glad you like the videos. And yes the trailer is a sturdy gal. ;-)

    You don't want to shorten the tongue. The longer the tongue, the easier backing up the trailer is.

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but if I shorten the tongue it takes less space in the garage. I get what you're saying though.

    Look up... Wondering if you are planning on installing a winch?

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn't show anything specific aside from a bunch of winch installs? You got a link?

    Single axle will take it just put a 5000 lbs axle under there.

    Hello, when it comes to mounting an ecotec on an engine stand, how did you go about doing so? What engine stand did you use if you had one, and did you have an adapter plate?

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To mate the Ecotec to the transaxle I have an engine adaptor. Mounting the Ecotec to an engine stand is no problem if it has the adjustable mounting arms.

    Are you towing this with the Jeep IV seen in the background for your videos. If so are your running a brake controller/ brakes on the trailer. I'm wants to build a similar set up and tow with my jeep Wrangler.

    • @DougBugBuilder
      @DougBugBuilder  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am pulling it with the Jeep.
      Currently I'm using the trailer for just little items. But when I start using it for the Baja it will have electric brakes. I wouldn't recommend pulling that much of a load without electric brakes. The Jeep brakes aren't very strong.

      @@DougBugBuilder yes I plan on running brakes.
