I have never seen such creative real estate photography before and I was a real estate developer for 40 years.
I am a real estate photographer in Miami, FL! First I want to say great photos and beautiful villa! Also, you said it was difficult to expose for both the sunset sky and the room. A solution to this is HDR Bracketing. The camera will take 9 photos at different exposures, and then you merge them together in photoshop. The results are always amazing and clients ask me how we do it. I love your creativity with the window reflection as well !

Very beautiful pics, accurate hints about technique and as usual a pleasure to hear you. However you should have provided us with context and goals of your client at the beginning. Shooting for airbnb or for a real estate agent results in different styles of photography. Publishing in the owner’s website or in an online platform with rigid formats are also parameters to take into account (some websites are not made for vertical shots for instance). Inclusion of human characters in the shots also varies depending of the final destinations of pictures. And finaly the use of ultra wide angles (
Exactly. It really depends on what type of property photography we are looking at, whether it is architectural/interior design for a magazine or a typical highstreet broker. Both of them are very different in their needs, the first ones allow being creative, the latter have very specific guidelines to follow.

I was just curios to see you are using a Canon lens with an adapter, any particular reason ?... is it just legacy gear ?......I use the GM 35 1.4 and is one amazing lens ....just bought the Sigma 24-70 DG DN II , san Excellent lens , it is a GM at half of the price

Beautiful shots, however in my experience as a real estate photographer, we usually do not take photos of what will not stay on the property, such as vases, floor lamps, etc. This is maybe a different approach since I am talking about working with real estate agents, it is something more commercial than artistic many times.

The photographs are beautiful indeed. However, it really depends on what industry sector you are aiming at. Unless you are working in an architectural/interior design or shooting a high end property to be featured in a magazine, then yes you can allow yourself to be creative. Otherwise, if you are in a typical real estate (most case scenario), the priority is for the photos to be informative, for that reason you shoot in high dinamic range to eliminate shadows and highlights. Some would use flash or bracketing method to do so and then edit photos in lightroom and photoshop to mask out certain over/under exposed areas.
Based on my experience, the brokers are very reluctant in detailed design elements shots or artistic shots. Majority of the brokers have very specific guidelines.
The reason I am writing all this is because most of property/real estate photography (not to mention high end properties or architectural design) vacancies do require previous experience in that paricular field and unfortunately, creative, original shots with depth of field and contrast are not the ones that get you there.
These are freakin amazing!!!! I can appreciate this video but out here in Texas. These agents are horrid when it comes to stepping out of the ordinary. You show them beautiful shots like this, they be like "Why would you give m these extra photos". I be like "because it shows and invites aesthetics and feel to the images that gives your listing a jump to help your sales". They then disregard all of that and literally will say "just give the normal images"... "normal" whatever tf that means... lol These people out here are so boring and so afraid of change its crazy. Even the "luxury" brokers and agents out here like that same ol same ol look like the $100,000 homes lol
