The music video is about how the city lost the light, and doyoung follows the little light, don't give up until the end, and bring back the lights! so the message is don't give up and someday we all can be the light, the firefly. His whole album is about 'YOUTH' every song about the happiness, sorrow, passion, love we feel in our youth!
if you liked the sound of this song, you'd definitely like the kband Lucy's music! Doyoung is friends with the members and asked their bassist (wonsang) to write + produce this song for him (that's why it has such a strong band sound lol) because he's a big fan of their sound and wanted something similar for his solo! Most of lucy's songs have a similar vibe to this, I'd recommend checking out "the knight who can't die and the silk crade" and "haze" :)
Doyoung was the lead singer in a band in high school and it is his favourite kind of music. He has so many great tracks in his solo debut and I am so happy he decided to do a full album with 10 songs. I love how he included NCTzens too as the green lights all around him (supporting him in spirit I think). I also suspect the ending links into general NCT lore because ideas of dreaming/collective unconscious and making dreams reality are at the core of NCT's story.
