Having a nice gym in a hotel is essential. I have also been able to find lots of little gyms in most cities. I agree that all cities have clean really nice areas and slums. We went to Forbes, not the magazine but the private community of the rich in Makati. As for taking ferry, I think is great because you can bring your car with you instead of renting a car. Explore and enjoy!

  • @lako2023

Yeah the former airport is now the new modern part of Iloilo, not really the main city though. I stayed in Iloilo like 10 years ago during Dinagyang celebrations (liked it more than Sinulog in Cebu) and back then I didn't see any other foreigner running around in the dusty old parts of the city. Let's see if you're heading to Guimaras next for some mango hunting.

I may have to slow down watching your videos because I am government and you make me want to retire now and start living the life in the philippines. Such a difficult question about where to live in the Philippines. On one hand you want to be around all the infrastructure and malls but that comes with the price instead of province living where you can buy and build for so much less. How did you decide on what island? Based on where your wife's family is? You guys are amazing - keep it up and thank you for all the videos

Does BRICS, bring down the dollar and does this have an affect on Expats living on their pensions in the Philippines. Just wondering if anyone is having a discussion about it since this whole new dedollarization is scary.

I'll soon join you in the Philippines, I'm going to live on my sailboat exploring all 7600 Islands. Hopefully I'll raise sails this fall for the first leg from Sweden to South Africa, but my mom have gotten a bit sick and I won't leave here alone, I'm all she got.

Question, can a foreign company own land there or do they have to lease too? I was thinking Panama LLC for privacy & protection..

I love Panama for banking and running companies but here you need to have majority owned company by filipinos

Iloilo is one of the cities I wanted to visit this trip, but not going to make it. Just got to Dumaguete with my Filipina girlfriend last night. I know you live on this island. Suggestions on where we should go? I want to get out of Dumaguete and see what it’s like in the mountains here. Cooler, hopefully! 🤣😂

Thanks man. FYI, in case you're looking for more options for your visitors; we're staying at the PVL Suites in Dumaguete for the first couple nights. Pretty nice hotel for only 3200 php / $52 usd. Pictures online look like the actual rooms... which I'm finding isn't always the case here 🤣

@@ItsMe_Philippines FYI, while I appreciate the suggestion, you shouldn’t recommend this place again. Their “infinity pool” (the thing I was telling my girlfriend how much she’d love) is no longer an “infinity pool” and is now just a pool (with dirt on the bottom), half the menu isn’t available (the pizza we got was half burnt), the bed is like a styrofoam block, queen bed has a twin comforter (so even though I’m only 5’7, we can’t cover our entire bodies), most trikes either didn’t know where this place is or wouldn’t take us, and several other things that would be nothing on their own, but just add onto their failures (ie had to go buy an extension cord in order to use the hot water kettle because the only outlet in the room is about 5 ft off the ground and the cord on the kettle won’t reach), and for me the worst thing; they have no hot water. Im not saying it doesn’t get hot enough. I’m saying there literally is no hot water option in the shower. Just one valve that either opens or closes. I HATE cold showers.
Hopefully going out to see the dolphins tomorrow will redeem this place. We were so excited… which makes the disappointment that much worse. I paid for 3 nights and, as of right now, will be leaving after either 1 or 2 (depending on when we get back tomorrow).

    Hello Sir,
The US military is gradually coming back to the Philippines. Given the influx of Americans residing there, do you think the Philippines and its women will become more Westernized? Can you observe any changes? Also, will prices increase with more Americans (Military and Non-Military or Westerners) relocating to the Philippines? Or, due to the vastness of the Philippines, will Filipina women remain predominantly traditional despite the influx of Americans? This could be an exciting topic to discuss with your TH-cam followers.

      @ItsMe_Philippines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Women becoming westernized = No, that would take years and your military guys will not like that or promote it.
      2. Noticed changes = Zero changes so far. 7k islands and they are only on a couple and no where near me.
      3. Price increases = Not yet, it will in a some areas but really only on the western products.
      4. Cannot speak on how filipinas will act with more foreign men here just yet but all together it's less than .01% addition.

The Philippines is the only Catholic country in Asia and Catholic family values are deeply rooted. Plus Subic base is in Luzon, and really far from Visayas and Mindanao.
Girls in Angeles and Subic areas tend to gravitate towards being liberated because that is the environment they got exposed. Visayas, however, (where Iloilo/Bacolod/Dumagete/Cebu is) is still very traditional since this is the area where Catholicism first came in and flourished.

Sadly, the Mayor of Iloillo has put in place an "Inside Mask" policy again.. I fear that parts of the Philippines will never put the masks away. Hope you guys have an amazing time.
