I don’t do nails, toes, lashes etc. I have locs and I just go about my day. Our biggest expense is buying quality food. Fresh fruits and vegetables and going to the butcher when we want meat. Maintaining my weight and health is my beauty regimen.
Ikr?!! After spending money on quality food and my swim subscription, I find it unnecessary to splurge on some beauty trx. Maybe that will change when I become a millionaire but rn, I love the simplicity of wellness over aesthetics🤭
I do my toes, but very sparingly (they last very long and look fun in sandals.) Generally, I agree that all you need is good food and adequate lifestyle with enough exercise and sleep.
I am a " low maintenance " I don't have the money to do all the " high maintenance " thingys, and I don't feel pressured.I know that I may not be considered to be attractive by many because I don't sport the " baddie aesthetic " . I sport my non chemical natural hair . I take care of my personal hygiene and I am happy with myself .I am not here to compete with anyone and don't want to go around with all that fakeness.
I do everything myself lol I cut my hair, do my nails, shave myself, blow dry my hair… I don’t trust people anymore. I have had bad haircuts, ugly done nails, ugly done makeup so now I do it myself and it’s relaxing to take care of yourself. You also don’t need too much money to do so.
Agree! Virtually all of these “treatments “ damage our natural body parts. Lashes, nails, hair extensions, injectable’s, veneers, etc. can do lasting damage. Like you said it’s fine for wedding, prom, photo shoots, etc but they weren’t meant for 24/7 wear forever and ever amen.
I tried the "high maintenance" thing for about 3 months and just stopped. It's too expensive and it's pointless. I go to the dermatologist monthly, I take care of my health and my natural hair and sometimes I wax my brows and thats about it. It's just not for me.
Same...I tried it for a few and was stressed and struggling. Even with getting the cheapest nails (about $60) every 6 weeks, doing my hair every 6-8 weeks (relaxer or braids) plus all the skincare, dental/oral hygiene, bath/shower routines, morning and night routines...I was behind every month with finances.....I gave it up real quick, I feel way better saving my money instead.
It’s crazy because as a dancer, I chose not to put on makeup just to go out with my friends or dates because I put on makeup for performances all the time. My little sister is also a dancer and I noticed her starting to wear lashes without makeup on random days. Then I noticed they started to become thicker & thicker so I explained to her that she was going to become addicted to seeing herself with lashes all the time and she swear she had it under control. Now a year later she wears lashes everyday! Only 15 going on 16… atleast she applies them herself and don’t spend too much money on them
I love to take care of myself and look feminine...BUT Im not willing to do all of this, I dont have the time either loooool. And I agree, it is an addiction. Being uncomfortable with yourself is really scary !
To me, "high maintenance to be low maintenance" means the procedure or treatment has to have results that last months to a year. Nails and lashes do not fit in that category due to how often u have to get it done and how long it takes to get done. I would loooove to get microblading done, I can't wait to cut brows out of my makeup routine.
Right?! I honestly thought that should be the whole point of the trend but now it seems lost🥲 Microblading sure would save some women time with their makeup routine.
and ladies please if you're going to spend a lot on yourself look expensive. Don't spend a lot to look worse. Don't spend a lot to look cheap. Don't spend a lot to look ghetto.
I love women at their natural state. Like you said investing in the food we consume, 8 hours of rest, reading the Bible and praying, facial using things in the house. I love my natural look with a little enhancements. Like mascara for my lashes, polish on my real nails, natural hair styles. Less is more.
I’m almost flawless if not completely flawless less 😂😂… and I tell people all of the time, keep things simple. Hydrate, eat clean, stay physically active, keep stress out of your life. Bad relationships, being around negative energy, being negative yourself, doing wrong by people- those things literally turn you ugly.
I do all my maintenance at home! Covid forced me to save that coin. I'll usually get a blowout once or twice a month anything else is a one off. I cant lie, if you want to fix your teeth that's probably one of the best investments you can make. Yes, I agree with you that when you are glam all the time you can start to feel "ugly" when you look in the mirror witthout it. It's about training your own eye to what beauty is.
For me, being high to be low maintenance is routine. I'm not rich, I'm a student and live by myself so there's not a lot of money. What I do is applying retinol and SPF to my face every damn day of my life, it works so well I don't do any facials or dermatological treatments to my face, and my skin is always clean, so much so I don't even use foundation or concealar. Retinol and SPF handle it all. I also learned how to do my own eyebrowns, so once a week I give it little retouches so they are always good. I also do my own nails, I don't have extensions or anything, but they are always shapped and clean. Having laser hair removal is another thing, I had in on my armpits and genital area, because I wear swimming suits every week, it saves a lot of time and money too. Once you paid the treatment it's done forever. When I go out and almost don't do anything other than applying lipgloss, all it's done.
It sounds like you're doing all the basic beauty upkeep, which is quite nice considering that you're a student, and embracing diys. That's PRETTY good! And I wouldn't really call it high maintenance, in this context.
I am so happy you mentioned what happens to your natural nails when you get them one frequently. The low maintenance treatments are not free of side effects.
Are the perpetually surprised brows a trend too? The more I'm online, the more disconnected I feel from the so-called 'beauty standard'. In real life, the women around me don't subscribe to these weird aesthetics either, but we're a small island so maybe that affects things.
I spend approximately $130 approximately once every 5-6weeks. That’s only $70 from each check. I spend my $ on pedicure-that’s my “splurge” and a Brazilian wax once every 6-7weeks since I cannot fathom waxing my own 🐱. I only buy makeup twice a year. I’ve invested in braces that will stay on for approximately 2 years. I wax my eyebrows once a month for $10. I have given up ALL OTHER MAINTENANCE like hair, nails, lashes, facials, wigs, weaves, lace fronts etc. it was too much & it was honestly starting to age me! Since I’ve started dating again and I’ve been prioritizing natural maintenance & health the responses I’ve been getting from men has been nice. They tell me they can “see” who they’d be dating & I look like I take care of myself without the additional enhancement. These “luxury beauty” routines are literally robbing us blind! Once you learn how to do alot of this at home you’ll save so much!
I agree so much with you on this. Girls need to keep it classic and clean. The thing about getting all these things done is that when the hair color grows out- when the nail breaks off- when the eyelashes fall off- it looks worse than if you had never gotten it done at all!
I’ve been a natural beauty influencer since I was in highschool. It hurts my heart when women don’t feel just as confident in their own skin and natural hair as in a wig and full face of makeup. I mean I love make up, it is an ART. I used to make little makeup TH-cam tutorials all the time but I am confident in how I look without it as well and usually only put makeup on for a performance or a super special event or if I just wanna have a little fun. EVERYTHING in life has to haves BALANCE or it will ruin you!
Omg ! Thank you soooo much for talking about this ! I feel the same exact way. Lashes extensions can be so uncomfortable 😣. I feel like you can’t even wash your face properly or sleep with it… I don’t know if that’s just me 😅
😂😂 Girll, I’ve been thinking of getting lash extensions done for my birthday since 2 yrs ago…maybe this year will be finally it😅 I just find it so uncomfortable but I guess beauty is pain and it’s ok to try out something new. sometimes.
@@Tinuola I say don’t do it. I went to a licensed lash tech and I got a bruise on my eye from the tape placement and my eye was sore and red for weeks. That was my 2nd and last time. Try at home clusters if you want the lash look

Idk how to describe you, you are bubbly and warm but not over the top or to performative. Very easy to watch and pay attention to.
As a mom it is easy when a few things are just done every month. Like natural looking lashes and washed hair and nails done. But very very natural. I have short nails and keep them short because working in the house and taking care of children (and hygiene). And then using a ‘natural biab or gel polish, so when your nails grow out you can’t see it and it is easy to go once a month. But yes it is very expensive but it does help sooo much for me at the moment when getting ready with small children
The best thing that happened to me was getting really nauseous during pregnancy. I became "low maintenance" real quick, and saw that my skin looked fine. I didn't need a twelve step cleansing/makeup/whatever routine. And ironically, my hair became MUCH healthier once I stopped messing with heat and a ton of products. I wondered why my hair never went past a certain length. Then I left it alone and wow, it actually GROWS!!
I feel like eventually guys will lost the concept of what is natural look and beauty by seeing these girls on regular basis and will demand the same from us non aesthetic just normal girls and we willnot meet the expectation and wil be remain single forever. This is just my thoughts and It's a real fear to me.
If you have no investments, no payable assets or no business providing lots of spendable cash, AND ANY CONSUMER DEBT, you are focused on the wrong thing and behind in the real game of life. These tiny things will not secure your future, unless it’s apart of ur lucrative business. Real talk.
I feel beautiful with microblading and lashs lifting. I am thankful of having the ability of doing that and to the person who invented those procedures. But I don't do this every month. I do my nails at the salon sometimes, but, not every month.
Right?! Some of these procedures really enhance our natural features. I just don’t like the idea of feeling insecure or ugly when we are without them. Or the need to constantly fix every part of us🫶🏽
I do an IPL treatment at home once month and sometimes dye my eyebrows. It's a real energy saver not having to certain thin every (other) day, especially when going on holidays or having during exam weeks. But afterwards going back to seeing you real bare face in the mirror every day, is oddly therapeutical.
You are right about this, it’s like when I clean the kitchen and start with like the counters and then I see the cupboards are dirty, the fridge is dirty the floor is dirty it’s overwhelming. Luckily I do my own lashes probably 4 or 5 days a week. So almost everyday but I buy like 4 months supply on Amazon for $200-$250. But like at 42 I keep adding more stuff and it is exhausting but I love looking good
I stopped doing high maintenance things cause I started saving up to move out my mom’s crib. Also, when it comes to my lashes, I stopped getting them done since December 2023 cause I ended up getting an allergic reacting from them. It makes me feel so sad cause I used to love getting them😩 I’m super low maintenance for beauty cause I don’t like paying deposits. The only high maintenance procedure I get is laser hair removal for my bikini area. I mean only for toe pedicures sometimes. I’m not getting my toes done for my birthday
Yeah, you sound quite pragmatic! I like that you weigh your options and act accordingly.🤍 I just don’t get why some FORCE it, when it’s clearly not working for them.
I do my own beauty treatments at home, I tint and perm my lashes, do my own manicures, whiten my teeth, dye my hair, and do face masks/skin treatments. It does help me to be low maintenance day to day but still look good and it’s not expensive doing it from home. If I had it all done professionally I would definitely be broke 😂 I don’t wear makeup often as my skin looks much better without makeup and if I wear makeup everyday I break out. For me I don’t like the high glam aesthetic, I just like the “me but a bit better” look. I love the “I’m still the cake” quote! So true. Got to love yourself with or without enhancements!
I'm a guy and I do all of my selfcare myself. I bleach, dye, and cut my own hair, I file my own nails, I do my own skincare, my cats massage my tummy when I am asleep, I make my own food, and I don't wear any makeup because I feel it is a waste of money and time. I am VERY picky and I hate most food. My diet is mostly vegetables, fruit, berries, salmon, chicken, legumes, nuts, seeds, and other healthy things. Sometimes my grandma asks me to go with her when she gets her nails done and she pays for mine, I don't really like getting them done but it makes her happy so I do it. I'm a femboy so I do a lot of "feminine" things. I shave EVERYWHERE every day so I can look smooth. The only treatment I would every pay for is laser hair removal. It is expensive so I probably won't get it done though, but it would save a shit ton of time if I didn't have to shave my entire body daily. I wonder if they have an at home laser machine that works and isn't too expensive?
It’s not for me, but I’m not going to knock anyone who does it. People have modifying their bodies in one way or another for a thousands of years in the name of beauty.
Some of the nail techs are not being careful and going too hard and hot with the dremel/carbide. They shouldn't be grinding and buffing your nails down to just barely the bed!!! They will get painful. 👀🥺
You said something I always said. I don’t like makeup, extensions, nails and all that because I didn’t want to get uncomfortable with my natural self. My beauty maintenance is so simple 😊
It is ridiculous to expect women to do all of these treatments. The money just flies out of your bank account. I learnt to do my own nails and it is so much cheaper.
Super long nails are absolutely ridiculous, especially the ones that make sounds. Super long fake lashes of all types are absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea what happened to applying mascara and single eye lashes like real makeup artists do when they are doing glam. I cannot imagine spending 200 dollars on a set of nails every 2-3 weeks. These people have lost their mind.
I don’t wear makeup; never have. But I started getting my lashes done (every other week) and I got lip blush. As for my hair I have locs so it always looks good. I only get pedicures during the summer months, do them myself in fall/winter. Fingernails don’t get done at all. I keep them short and shaped well. It’s all about balance.
the only "beauty treatment" I do is threading my eyebrows every month for £8. I don't like the feel of fake nails so I only use stick on nails if I have an occasion to attend like a wedding. I clean my nails myself weekly. FOMO is making many women and young girls spend money they do not have in unnecessary beauty maintenance meanwhile, in most countries women are paid less.. While we are here, please read Beauty Sick: How the Cultural Obsession with Appearance Hurts Girls and Women by Renee Engeln.
Low maintenance is beautiful also I have seen expensive ladies look the worst and cheap my go to is mascara eyeliner and some blush I also do my hair nails and pedicure myself saves me money and it's so relaxing to me
Salon appointments take time that's why I do most things on my own except for permanent hair straightening and haircut. Having too much of fake things on your body is like putting stickers on a Bentley.
First girl does microblading every month? 😅 I got my eyebrows microbladed last june and I haven't had to retouch it. Of course it doesn't look as fresh but it's still there.
Lol she’s actually microblading her brows once a year. She gets them tinted and laminated every month. I’m only clarifying because to me that’s even more insane. I’m team choose one and stick with it.
I get my eyebrows threaded every other month, Brazilian wax monthly and my biggest splurge are my natural hair salon appts for cuts and color every few months. I don’t do my nails or toes and I’m not a lash person I’ve only worn them 2 or 3 times. I’m not interested in those big major procedures. I love makeup and doing it myself although I don’t do it as much as I used to because of time.
There are actually studies on how this hurts wimen financially. In the long run its a waate of money that could be invested in keeping you safe in future. Dont be fooled into poverty as you age. Once you get to 50 you cant do this and look better. Its healthy food and exercise.
Also high maintenance to be low maintenance should be things you do once a quarter to twice a year! Once a month isn't "low maintenance". By time that expense is multiplied by 12 it's a huge amount!
Or in instances where you're able to get a service done for significantly less than the average cost of getting it done at a salon or by a professional. They forget that maintenance involves cost for value, so doing it less and it costs the same as doing it multiple times also doesn't fit this category in my opinion
Your skin is beautiful I can’t tell if you are wearing foundation or not but it’s gorgeous! Personally I invest in quality skincare products instead of foundation and shape my own nails but I’m lucky to have naturally very long nails. My biggest expense is my natural birth control subscription but I feel so much better on it it’s worth the cost to me.
Healthier diet, less stress and exercise is the best glow up for alot of us! When we get those basics right, we wouldn’t need so much body altering beauty procedures.🙌🏾😁
What is important is the beauty that is on the inside because you can have a pretty expensive high beauty maintenance and still have a ugly character , so ladies let’s work on the inside and will later work on the outside
Ok hear me out this is SO SO helpful for us neurospicy girlies. Sometimes our executive is not functioning and kind of having a “one and done” high maintenance routine personally helps me so so much with weeks when lawd it’s a struggleeeee 😅 it’s extra but bruh otherwise….its giving bogwitch 😅😅😅😅

I like that you weigh your options and act accordingly.🤍
I just don’t get why some FORCE it, when it’s clearly not working for them.
So true. Got to love yourself with or without enhancements!
absolutely Debbie! Thanks for sharing. Love it!!♥
I'm a guy and I do all of my selfcare myself.
Loved this video. Teaching people to simply love themselves.
Thank you Diva!!
off topic (but not really) Your natural beaty is just *Chef's Kiss*
Ah, I'm flattered! Thanks🤍
I love this video topic and the way you delivered the message. I am about to binge some of your similar videos. New subbie here. 💜
Nneka the feeling is mutual!!Welcome🤗
It’s not for me, but I’m not going to knock anyone who does it. People have modifying their bodies in one way or another for a thousands of years in the name of beauty.
Yup! And it’s VERY interesting to chat about.
Some of the nail techs are not being careful and going too hard and hot with the dremel/carbide. They shouldn't be grinding and buffing your nails down to just barely the bed!!! They will get painful. 👀🥺
Which lippie are you wearing please ? So pretty 🥰
I’d love to know too! 😊
Honestly it’s a combo.☺️Burgundy lipstick + dusty pink lip gloss.
@@Tinuola Thanks for sharing. It looked dark orange to me :)
@@missfabidia you’re welcome. Yes, as a lip combo, it does. And my light added to the Color in the video.
You said something I always said. I don’t like makeup, extensions, nails and all that because I didn’t want to get uncomfortable with my natural self.
My beauty maintenance is so simple 😊
🙌🏾🤍🤍
Yes 🙌🏿 Same, I have to be confident bare before I can enhance!
It’s all about balance.
wow i love this!!🤗
the only "beauty treatment" I do is threading my eyebrows every month for £8. I don't like the feel of fake nails so I only use stick on nails if I have an occasion to attend like a wedding. I clean my nails myself weekly. FOMO is making many women and young girls spend money they do not have in unnecessary beauty maintenance meanwhile, in most countries women are paid less.. The beauty treatments are crazy. Lets embrace being natural
Low maintenance is beautiful also I have seen expensive ladies look the worst and cheap my go to is mascara eyeliner and some blush I also do my hair nails and pedicure myself saves me money and it's so relaxing to me
ikr?!! thanks for sharing
Salon appointments take time that's why I do most things on my own except for permanent hair straightening and haircut. Having too much of fake things on your body is like putting stickers on a Bentley.
Thank you!!🙌🏾
First girl does microblading every month? 😅 I got my eyebrows microbladed last june and I haven't had to retouch it. Of course it doesn't look as fresh but it's still there.
Lol she’s actually microblading her brows once a year. She gets them tinted and laminated every month. I’m only clarifying because to me that’s even more insane. I’m team choose one and stick with it.
@@berealroyaletv saaaame, I was like what 😅😅😅
@@berealroyaletvthat’s wild that even after micro blading she would need them tented and laminated so often. Something is a waste of money
👏🏾👏🏾🤍
There are actually studies on how this hurts wimen financially. In the long run its a waate of money that could be invested in keeping you safe in future. Dont be fooled into poverty as you age. Once you get to 50 you cant do this and look better. Its healthy food and exercise.
Big on healthy food and exercise!♥
Women really go around in circles on this. Why don't you just accept how you look?
People are too busy looking outward and trying to be appealing to others.
Thank you!! Yes, I have foundation on but I'm big on investing in skincare over makeup.♥
If you glam up everyday then will it be glamorous or new basic?
ikr?!!😁
Brilliant advice, great takes!
thanks a lot!
Beautiful people talking about how they don't worry about being beautiful is always good for normal peoples self esteem
lmao "beautiful peaople"
Literally all she needs is a personal trainer, gym membership and to eat right 😂 then she wouldn’t feel like she needs all that nonsense
Healthier diet, less stress and exercise is the best glow up for alot of us! When we get those basics right, we wouldn’t need so much body altering beauty procedures.🙌🏾😁
Ooff
wow. hope putting another woman down made you feel better about yourself.
@@nbucwa6621 You know you live on another planet when telling someone the right thing to do is putting them down
Enjoyed your commentary.💚
Thank you!!🤍
They consider this is a glow up. I ♡(ू•‧̫•ू⑅) it for beauty professionals
I do everything myself
lipgloss by??
I do my nails . Lashes and wax and make my hair every month
👏👏
She looks nice except for the nails that style is too much for me
Agreed! I'm with you!
You look beautiful in the thumbnail 😍🥰
Thank youu babe!
What is important is the beauty that is on the inside because you can have a pretty expensive high beauty maintenance and still have a ugly character , so ladies let’s work on the inside and will later work on the outside
They gotta stop tryna copy these influencers 😂they’ll eventually go broke if they aren’t saving anything
😂😂😂
❤❤❤
🤗♥
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
her voice and accent are so sexy.
wow thanks!!☺
❤️
Girl if you don’t stop with your thick hair and flawless skin. You don’t need thethe treatments 😂
I feel like eventually guys will lost the concept of what is natural look and beauty by seeing these girls on regular basis and will demand the same from us non aesthetic just normal girls and we willnot meet the expectation and wil be remain single forever. This is just my thoughts and It's a real fear to me.
The right one won't care about that. Don't worry :)
"Normal girls" still get men committed to longterm relationships. First step is to de-center men and focus on your growth (aka do the inner work). Next is to learn what complements your natural features and how to enhance it (without extreme procedures), and for that, stay subscribed to the channel and check out my other videos on these topics.
